we returned from bbe on the 13th july, couldnt fault the hotel on cleaniness rooms were cleaned daily, even picked up few things we left on the floor.

the food was excellent ,catered for the children with there own buffet space and had something diffrent every night we stayed from tradditional greek food right up to lamb chops ,curries etc .lunch times round the pool area there is a buffet from 12.30 which has a great selection although the snack bar should be open later on the night for those peckish times.

The hotel staff were excellent and friendly and found no real problem getting served at the pool bar, cup situation is a bit of a let down they really should buy some plastic glasses like you get at english pubs where kids are about.

people did order more than four drinks at a time and didnt get refused,as long as you dont go barmy and ask for about 20 !, as for the entertainment i though the reps did very well considering they do this 7 nights a week from april till october ,the kids always enjoyed the mini disco from 8 till 8.45-9 as for the comment about the rep claire she does look a bit intimidatin and loud but seemed a very nice girl.

impulse the resident group should be excellent the practice theve had ..been there some time but found some of the reps to have better voices than them, they should really choose there songs better, ie ones they can hit the notes on, every song is a lovely or nice song according to the female vocalist, i beg to differ. but they are doing there best and get it right now and again.

we had some great weather too hot in fact and on our last day a storm, which cooled us nicely, it is a very nice place and might return when kids a bit older.

We have just returned 17/7/04 from the bbe after 2 weeks holiday. We had a great time. This is a lovely part of the world - very relaxed. the hotel was very clean and the apartments were spacious. The food was excellent and the pool area was fabulous - although you did have to get up early to get an umbrella for some shade. There is plenty to do if you want, but no pressure if you don't - loads to do for the kids - soccer school and swimming lessons excellent. The entertainment team worked hard and most were very friendly. We will probably return again some time in the future.

Just arrived back today so thought I'd tackle this while its still fresh in my mind. Between the 3 families that travelled we had 8 kids from 5 - 13 years.

Firstly the food- superb and no other word! If you can't find something you would enjoy then I advise you to stay at home for the rest of your life! I made breakfast once which was fine, but then whats the point when I was down by the pool at 10 and could have hot dog, burger, pizza, ice cream or all if I so desired. That would keep me going until lunch at the pool buffet from 1230 until 1500 which had a large choice of salads and hot food which was different every day. Also the snack bar started thier kebabs too and I was always torn as the kebabs were the best I've ever had and the really friendly lady that served them always had a chat and a laugh with you. As so often mentioned plastic cups by the poolside, yes very sensible and no problem. Wasps, yes you saw them, no plague, just as you would expect around food and drink but I didn't see anyone stung.

Friendly bar staff, you may find some a little quiet but talk to them, treat them with respect and you always find a really nice person thats interested in you. IMPULSE what is everyones problem? We noticed that the lady always says YAY and by the end of the 1st week everyone had cottoned on and even when they returned on stage to pack up a big YAY went up from everyone followed by lots of oompahs. A real laugh and fum atmosphere. Impulse do what they are supposed to do - sing and entertain, which they do competantly. Get involved sing along and dance and enjoy. Some people could have Elton John there every night and still moan.

The first choice entertainers worked really hard and we had a real laugh, good clean fun, get up on stage you will not be embarrassed take part and it makes the night. It was that unintimidating to go on stage I even got my mate Miguel up there!(unheard of). Michael is really funny and down to earth, Claire was great and put everything into her work (although I still say bald is not a color)! Gemma (alias Kylie) is the choreographer and good! Denise Charlie Leam respect to you one and all. 10 year old Shelbie fell in love with Michael and had a picture and a kiss with him and will probably treasure it until she's 13. Seriously they were all nice people. A special mention to Marta and Yiannis, lovely smiling friendly Greek people.

Then we go to pre dinner drinks at the top bar and real glasses, we all met up every night at 7 for sundowners on the terrace with the lovely view while the kids played pool with all the friends they made, I've never seen so many kids hanging off a pool table. I honestly didn't have a bad meal in 14 nights, variety and quality. The head chef was always there and if you weren't sure what something was you would get a full description of taste and how its cooked and then a running commentry of everything you looked at along the long counter. There is a kids section which does the normal nuggets and chips etc and you see a lot of adults getting thier chips to go with whatever they have there. The deserts were brilliant, some you would look at and think they will be stodgy but they are light fresh and tasty. Be prepared to put on weight!

There are 2 beaches a few yards off the complex which are nice, go left for the warmer sea. The pool is lovely and unlike Spain inflatables are allowed, the kids love it and it really didn't bother me.

The owner is always around, friendly approachable and everyone thought he was English as his grammer is better than a lot of English.

Blue Bay is a little isolated but we took the free bus a couple of times into Kassiopi (book the bus), but we didn't feel the need to go off the complex much, we did totally relax and the kids like staying around the pool or on the beach with thier mates. A special thankyou to the swimming instructor who had 5 year old Morgan swimming in no time.

One other thing that stands out is I have never seen so many families of 5 or 6 as its normally so hard to get accommadation, which is lovely clean and air conditioned apartments. In case you haven't guessed, YES we recommend it!!

We have just got back yesterday and we had a fantastic time. The rooms were so clean, staff so friendly, first choice reps fantastic. Food was generally good, snacks were great especially the kebabs which I could have eaten all day, pool clean, big. Beaches great. Location fantastic.

We hired a car for 2 days and went to Corfu town one day and along west coast the next through the mountains. Views were breathtaking and I recommend anyone going to hire a car and go to the west coast.

Well what can i say we have been to a few places now but this was one of the best.
Food, hotel, staff and entertainment team were fantastic apart from anthony on the top bar(he had a major attitude).

One thing i would say is mosquito's. during the day it's fine but on a night they are rife, use plenty of repellent and also purchase candle for the table and floor where you sit.

The doctor on site was very polite and very helpful.

Pool was very clean but watch the pool edge's cos they make your hands sore.

Brilliant view of albania and the sea was very clean.

Poolside snack's i.e burgers, hotdogs, pizza's,toastie's and wraps were a added bonus for when you felt peckish.

Spyros the hotel manager was a very well spoken greek, you would swear he was english very good to talk to any problems see him and he will do all he can to help you.

Entertainment on a night was sometimes tedious but you cant fault the entertainment team they worked very hard, watch clair she's a star and gemma she is a fantastic dancer.

Well done everybody we had a fantastic holiday will recomend it to anybody and we will return here again.

The Blue Bay is beautiful looking resort, but it does'nt really cater for self catering, one small cooker, not enough cutlerly and crockery. The rooms all have a/c which was a god send at night. The maid service every day was luxuary. Make sure you take plug -in insect repelant units. location of hotel is abit out of the way but has a great view of albaina morning and night. No water when sprinklers on to water grass or hot water between three and four in the afternoon. The resort is only about two years old and is very well maintained. because we were s/c we didnt have much to do with reps. The only time we spoke to them for the two weeks was when they directed us to the wrong check-in desk at a very busy airport, (almost missed flight). If you are into all inclusive and want to be tied down to the resort and sit by the pool and drink from plastic cups, then this is the place to go. All in all as a base this was a great place to stay. A wee tip, exchange your travelers cheques outside the hotel, you will get a much better rate of exchange.

We stayed at the blue bay escape for 2 fabulous weeks and had a wonderful time. The location of the hotel is spectacular and we couldn't stop taking photos every day we were there. We originally booked as self catering but upgraded to all inclusive for the days we were on site. We all enjoyed the food very much and discovered things that we never knew we liked. The key is to experiment with your food. If your worried that you won't like what you've picked up - grab some salad and chips and you can't go wrong. The desserts were very enjoyable.
A special thanks goes to Spikey Mikey, Denise and Michael - you made the holiday what it was. Thanks also to Charley for making small kids feel good about themselves. And a thank you also goes out to the rest of the Entertainments Team and Kids Club. Wavelength needs to be more organised (sorry Chris!!) as there are two different age groups, they should be held at the same time so there needs to be more staff - not blaming you Chris!

If you've got any young budding football players in your group, we would recommend the soccer school. A big thank you to Sean who made it a very special holiday for everyone involved and encouraged all the kids to do their best but also to have a great time as they are on holiday after all. And thanks to David Howells for having such a great idea!

The Entertainments team did a brilliant job in keeping us entertained every night and organised events throughout the day. It's a pity that we weren't able to watch Tickeldome but we saw some rehearsals and it looked great! The Grease show was brilliant.
Inpulse do not get enough credit for all the hard work they put into their shows.

Barry and Donna - I don't know how you carry on with the venomous comments and they are not deserved. Some people will never be satisfied with whatever you do. We certainly enjoyed singing along to your songs - maybe a little variety is needed but you both CAN sing so don't worry!
Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going with or without a family. There are plenty of places to visit you don't want to stay at the hotel but would recommend booking any trips through Tanja travel as they are quite a bit cheaper than going through the hotel. The Grand Island Tour has been recommended but make sure you take plenty of money with you as there are extra costs involved for entrance to Achillieon Palace etc.

We went as quite a large party and were made to feel welcome as soon as we got there and everywhere we went. The restaurant staff were only too happy to move a few tables together for us all to eat together.
We didn't find a problem with drinks being provided in plastic cups - they need to be when they are being carried all around the hotel and near the pool. The pool was always kept clean and if there were kids having "toiletry accidents" in the pool, everyone was notified and told to evacuate the pool! And you can't blame the staff for that! There was a problem with chemicals not being washed away properly from the edges of the pool - resulting in hands being slightly burnt, but this was soon rectified.

If you are going here, do take mosquito repellents and afterbite spray. The candles also seemed to work but you need them on the floor aswell as on your table. I didn't get bitten until the last night we were there waiting for the coach to pick us up for the airport! Also would recommend taking antihistamine tablets with you as some members of my party had allergic reactions to the bites.

To anyone that says that the hotel is isolated as if this was a bad thing - I say that the hotel is advertised being isolated and that is what's great about it. You're away from traffic and noise and if you just want to stay at the hotel you've got everything you need close to hand (apart from a cashpoint). There are buses and taxis available to take you where you need to go (the buses should run more often I admit). The cashpoints in Acharavi take almost every card going. We didn't have problem accesing money. The beaches are minutes away from the hotel and the views of Albania are a sight to behold. We were very fortunate to get sea view apartments which were amazing.
There's so many things about this hotel that we loved, and we'll definitely be going back in the very near future.
Water from the local shops is incredibly cheap so you can buy in bulk and have enough in your rooms to last the holiday.
The weather was unbelievable - temps reaching mid to late 40's which at times were unbearable but you just couldn't stay out in the sun too long - a quick jump in the pool and you'd be cooled down enough for another half hour! We had the most amazing storm and watched it come over the sea and over us. This inevitabley cooled the temps down - to a bearable mid - late 30's!! Can't complain at all though - you just had to be sensible.
All in all, the best holiday we have ever had and we really didn't want to leave.

The complex was a little isolated but with a fantastic veiw of the mountains of Albania, standards of cleanliness were excellent and the daily maid service very good.
The staff by and large were good although some of the bar staff were found to be wanting, O.K.if you understood the surly looks and the odd grunt or two.
The pool area was good although the edges of the pool were a bit rough resulting in quite a few children cutting themselves.
The only criticism I would have of the pool area was the constant barrage of noise from the entertainment reps which made the place feel like an holiday camp on several occasions I was tempted to shout HI DI HI.Having said that it seemed good fun for the children.
I think there ought to be a system in place for the sun umbrellas and it should be on a first come first serve basis. People were placing towels on the beds as early as 6am , I saw several beds and umbrellas not occupied until well after lunch on days when there was a shortage of sunbeds. This seems a tad selfish.
I am concerned that your passports are kept for the duration of your stay, but an incident occurred where I see now why they do it.
Always check your rooms before you go out for the day to make sure everything is in order, we were accused of breaking a bedside lamp, which we hadn't and the manager was going to charge us 15 euros, the First Choice reps dealt with this on our behalf.
I must say the First Choice reps were excellent.
Although we booked as self catering we did go all inclusive for 2 days, the food was adequate, but nothing special and the service in the restaurant was good, poolside lunch was very good, I think the idea of allowing people to go all inclusive when they are not booked to was good.
There are some security staff around who seemed a little heavy handed with some of the older children.
I wouldn't visit again but only for the reason that it is a little isolated and it caters more for families.

Excellent hotel, very clean and would highly recommend it! All inclusive is the best option by far and one of the best all inclusive hotels I've ever been to.

The food is excellent, be prepared to put on pounds!!

We were lucky enough to have a sea view and what a view in the morning when you wake up.

I didn't think the entertainment was up to much (yes Impulse) - the only impulse I got was to disappear to the top bar!

Can't fault the reps though, they worked very hard!

Really great holiday. Fantastic food. Very Clean. Cleaners very good. As stated elsewhere - the poolside is like sandpaper - so the children ended up wearing sandals in the pool to protect their little toes. I fell over on the slippery patterned concrete - be warned! Sunbed reservation is ridiculous, beginning at 1:00 am, all umbrellas gone by 5:00 am - little chance of sunbeds after 9:00 am . This worldwide problem needs to be sorted.
Kids clubs were very good, evening entertainment poor.
Very good otherwise - i'd go back next year, we loved it. (Oh, air conditioned rooms as well)
