Stalis is such a pretty place, everyone is extremely friendly and you get no hastle. There are some excellent restaurants and bars around. Bar bliss is brilliant if you are a young couple, the staff are extremely friendly and recognise a familar face, they make time to come and talk to you. Anatolia is also a top restaurant food is lovely would recommend eating there. The beachs are clean, the sea is beautiful. The driving can be a bit scary as no one seems to care if you are walking be it at the side of the road or on the path but as long as your careful there shouldn be no problem. Would recommend this place to everyone is is brilliant. Cant wait to go back in september.

Stalis is a lovely resort. There is something for everyone. If you want a restful, quiet holiday sit in one of the tavernas with a drink and watch the ocean lapping on the beach. There is plenty of activity at night, just walk up the beach road and you have a choice of so many pubs, restaurants and shops.
Something for everyone.

Stalis is a great place. We have a 5 year old son and find it perfect for us. The beach is safe and clean there are lots of places to eat. The resort is easy to walk around. Thers are lots of bars to get a drink but as far as I could tell none seemed to be rowdy.

The resort of Stalis was a very pretty and clean resort.Set back off the main road so quite quiet of traffic.
Stalis had all the things you would need for a good hol, bars , resturants, supermarkets, shops, everything was there.
We used the sparrow travel to book a day trip with much cheaper than the reps price and turned out to be an excellent day.
beaches were great and very clean all parts of beach seperated into small areas with hotels attached so you could use their facilities aswell. to hire 3 sunbeds and an umbrella all day was 5euros.
weather in may 2007 was between 25-30 each day couldy till about 11am then sun out till 7pm.
places to eat by the sea recommend el greco
bakery opposite panorama and just down slightly was excellent a must on every day for coffee , cakes, you name it they make it and very cheap
we would most definitely return here.

Stalis is a very family orientated resort. Singles wanting a bit more action usually go to nearby Malia or Hersonissos.
Through the day a lot of things are centred around the beach and it really is a very nice beach. There are all sorts of excursions to go on from boat trips to jeep safaris.Public transport is very cheap and makes neighbouring resorts very accessible.
We have never had a bad meal on any of our visits to Stalis, there is loads of choice, it is really down to personal choice. Our favourite is Capricciossa where we have a good friend called Kostas who we met on our very first visit to Stalis.
Over the years we have made alot of friends in Stalis, locals and also people like us who return year after year.
I would not hesitate to recommend Stalis as a holiday destination and especially the Latania apartments.

Great resort, some great places to eat, try el-greco on the main street, 1st class food and service. Plenty of good bars, scattered between the shops, will go back.

beware when hiring a car as i was ripped off by a company named caravel.they agreed a price of 60 euros for 2 days for a citreon c3 but when i went to pick it up they told me that there was a problem with the lights and i would need to pay an extra 10 euros to take an hyundi accent this turned out to be the dirtiest car i have ever seen and it was falling apart when i complained they sent me for a coffee and told me to come back in 20 mins they then gave me an atos which is two groups lower that what i paid for and they refused to give me a refund i will never hire from them again my advice is to hire from one of the well known companies.

Stayed in Stalis in October 2006 and it was the last week of the season so as the week went on the restaurants and shops started shutting so thank goodness for the Brittannia bar where we played the Great British quiz and also bingo most nights, great place to meet people and have a laugh. Great for us as we won bingo twice!!!
Ate at a few different places but carn't remember names, didn't have a bad meal anywhere though so all in all great place to visit.

Stalis is very small with a quiet (not the main road futher up) typical tourist road following it along the beach.
Beach loungers are available for around 2 euros for 2 with a parasol, use of a bar's loo' and beach showers, can comfortably go topless on beach. Safe sea for the kids to paddle & snorkle in, lots of small silver fish as shallow as 12". 'Cake man' walks the beach around lunchtime every day and is excellent value. Chinese massage on beach for around 15 euros is good too.
Can stroll into Malia in about 45 minutes but it is not as nice as Stalis, polite heckling from resturants only(we said we had already eaten until we found somewhere we liked), just need to watch the smaller kids as there a quite a few quad bikes/scooters whizzing around day & night.
Hernonnisos is better accessed by bus or cab, lovely harbour to visit, esp at night, more lively / better shops ect but a bit more expensive. Water park at Anopolis is great, may be better getting cab instead of tour booking as it took about 1 hour to what directly would be 10 mins, worth a visit to break up the hols.
Airport at Heraklion smokey and cramped, expensive cafe, no shops & poor toilets, (buy food/drink before arriving at airport). If you have a child that needs baby milk or nappies, take plenty as they are like gold dust in Stalis, not much fresh milk either(mostly longlife)ample of recognised brands in local stores otherwise.
Local food/ produce is much cheaper and tastes much better-try it!!!
Very friendly and welcoming people, very kind with children.
