The resort of Stalis was much more "upmarket" than the nearby Malia.
Malia was rather like Blackpool, although a visit during the day to the shops was nice, after 2pm in the afternoon all the young people seemed to be getting up and we quickly made out way back to the quietness of Stalis

Excellent clean safe beaches if you observe the flags. Plenty to do in the town itself - very lively.

Only thing to watch out for are being mithered to eat in bars and resturants as you walk up the beachroad, this can get quite annoying. Bestplaces to eat Camelot, Mambos and the Rose and Crown do a mean English breakfast.

Stalis is a brilliant resort and I would definalty go back again! lots to do!
If I got offered a free holiday to go back to Stalis I would go back straight away.
Lots of restaurants to choose from and the food is lovely. We never had a bad meal over there. Lots of bars to choose from. we went into Trixie's bar. it's not a lively bar but it's a nice bar to relax in and watch the world go by.
Stalis is great for families and couples. The beach there is fantastic!! 10/10 resort!!

The beach road in Stalis is where all the resturants,bars and shops are.There are plenty of eating place and we tried a few.The Nine Muses we went each morning for breakfast,we did not have a bad meal in any of the resturants and I do recommend the Italian Resturant,we went there for my friends birthday.The Beach Road is quite lively with plenty of bars.

The resort was fine and just what we expected of Crete. Our main problem was the Quad bikes and Mopeds tearing along the streets in the evenings, and the lack of pavments to walk on. I can see there being an accident sooner or later.

The resort itself was great, there was something there for everyone, young and old!! There is a excellent choice of Restaurants. We were more than happy with the ones we found. The staff and food in the "Rose & Crown" are fantastic and the prices are brilliant too!
The Irish bars are absolutly "MAD" craic !!!
"Slainte" and O'Dwyers !! Defo ones for those out for a laugh and some Craic!!!!

Not the best island / resort I have been to in Greece. I was quite dissapointed with all of the beaches that I visited on Crete. Skiathos, Corfu, Zante, Pellion, Halkidiki have much better beaches and the sea is calmer. All things considered I had a good holiday and I was satisfied with the standard of the resort.

Stallis is fantastic,family orientated,kids loved it.
The choice of restaurants was huge.
Turn right when you come out of cactus beach for quieter end of resort,you don't get hassled to eat in restaurants.
Baywatch ,El Greco ,Cretan all fantastic value .Could eat starters main course and litre of wine for 40-50- euros.
Kids got free ice cream in most places and adults had shots.
Beach clean and water warm,2 sun beds 6 euros for day.
Hired a car from autohire 180 eros for 5 days,greek drivers are mad so take care.
Water city is no good for small children, all very big steep rides and very expensive.
Knossos excellant, visit in evening, quiter and not so hot.
Aq nik about 40 mins away well worth a visit.
All in all we had a fantastic holiday, we are going back next year,which is something we have never done before.

Stalis is a wonderful resort with plenty of bars and restauraunts, also has a good public transport system. A lovely clean resort with friendly people.
Plenty of beaches, they are of a high standard, although if people who smoked would take a bit more care the beaches would be even cleaner and better.
