Out side the hotel there is a small bridge which is actually a road, and as you look to the left there is a 24hour shop which sells everything from snacks to phone cards. As you walk over the bridge you will have a road that is full of pubs and shops. There are two good supermarkets either side of the road and these are reasonabily priced. There are loads of bars and shops so plenty to do during the day.
There is a bar there called Red bar and all day they play friends dvd's. there are others there that have only fools and horses, and comedy ones but all in all brill, when you have had enough sun there is somewhere to go and chill.
The evening is totally different, there are PR's everywhere trying to get you to come and drink in there bar, but apart from that it is good fun.
We ate in differnt places but here are our recomendations, AMAZON, this was the best place for a good deal for money. For 30euros which is roughly £24, we ahd a started main meal and a dessert and then as much as you want to drink. the staff here are brill, we loved natalie and stavros they made the evenings fun for us.
The best kebab house we found was Papagolas they were cool.
There are enough places to eat and people there are all helpful and all you got to do is ask anyone where they would recomend.
There are boats for you to go on, for 18 euros you can go to Kos town, thats not a bad day out. We caught a bus there and a boat back, there are all ruins there and you can get a train to see some ancient monuments. Brilliant for the scenery.
Through the hotel we went to Turkey for the day, we didnt go for the shopping and we would reomend you take some money as they take you to a jewlers. The trip shows you places in turkey but you also get a free eat as much as you want lunch, then they give you an hour and and a half to go shopping.
I cant think of anything else at the momment but Kardemena is a wicked place, not really suitable for children but ideal for couples, the time we went, but in the peak season we have been told that it gets packed full of young people.
We hope this review has helped and if you want to know anything else please post message on board and ask.
thanks

We loved Kardamena. The best holiday we have had so far. Local people are very friendly, so nice. The beach is clean and the sea is so clear. At the harbour, the boats take you over to Bodrum in Turkey which is great, as you get to see another culture. Everything about Kardamena is just excellent. Nightlife is good with plenty of bars and restaurants. One restaurant we kept going back to was Alexander's - the food was brilliant and the staff really nice. Would go back again and again.

Kos is a lovely island and the majority of the people are really friendly (and make a fuss of the children). If you decide to go on any excursions book in Kardamena (and not through tour operator) it works out a lot cheaper – but remember to add 5euro’s each way for taxi, as most of them drop off and pick up in town.
Bubble Beach (Paradise Beach) is beautiful; take goggles and snorkels to get a clear view of the volcanic bubbles coming up under the water and the fish swimming around you. The beach is sandy and water is shallow.
We would go back to Kos but would not go back to this hotel – should be downgraded.

This resort was ok. It wasn't brilliant and Kardemena was mad of a night but of a day its is really good to go and have a look around all the shops.
The days out are really good Bubble beach is really good aswell are family went jet skiing and you can go really far out in the sea swimming and you will still be able to touch the floor. Because the Bubble Beaches sea bubbles, whereever it does bubble it goes really warm in just that spot.
Everybody really enjoyed it. But the hotel was a disappointment.

The Greek people are very friendly. We visited Kardamena one evening - courtesy bus from Akti and return but if you miss it, taxi only costs €6.50 - to enjoy a meal away from the complex and spent around £10 per head for which we each had a starter, a main course and a couple of drinks. The food was excellent, very wide choice and fantastic value for money due to the large portions provided. The beer was served in cold glasses. The restaurant was by the beach and called Bar Olive - I would recommend it to anyone. Avoid Bar Street later in the evening if you've got children though - the teens/twenties go there, the music is very loud and little ones might feel intimidated. Shops are nice.
To the rear of the Akti Club Hotel there are a couple of tavernas - Mike's bar (turn left) has wide screen TV and Sky - a mean cocktail can be had there and he also does cocktails for the children - a very pleasant atmosphere and a nice change from the Akti. He also does food. Takes a while to walk there though - say 10-15 minutes - the kids might get fed up walking but it's worth a trip. The Nefsika taverna is to the right and this is where they have the disco at 11.30pm - again, nicely chilled glasses and cold beer and he also does cocktails - a bit slow in preparing the drinks but hey - you're on holiday so what's the rush, just enjoy!
Beach - shingle and gets really hot - difficult to get in and out of sea if you don't like walking on stones. Not many sun loungers or parasols but they are free.Watersports adequate on the local beach - you have to pre-book the banana boat as the speedboat is not kept there - good fun though!
Day trips - Paradise beach excellent (sandy beach) but suggest you make your own way there as organised trip is not long enough and it will be cheaper. Turkey - enjoyed boat ride (40 mins) but be careful - shop keepers hassle you, haggling is not a pleasant experience (they know what they want to sell an item for and that's what they will work to but they can start off with ridiculous prices - one wanted €50 for a baseball cap!) and if you go to where the gold jewellery is made you don't really get a chance to just look - they want you to buy and they will do all they can to get you to do so - beware the rooms at the back which is where they offer you coffee, cigarettes and a negotiator will bring the price down and offer his hand for you to shake to secure the deal - jewellery is beautiful though! Don't buy the cheap perfume, it's hopeless. Some friends went to the waterpark and had wonderful time but again, day was not long enough and cheaper to book at an agent in Kardamena or make your own way there and spend as long as you want to.

The resort of Kardemena, is very clean.
The entertainment is fantastic, it caters for all tastes, Bar Street and Disco's for the young at heart, and quieter music bars just 10 mins walk away from the centre. On the sea front you can even enjoy a quiet and relaxing cocktail.
The Beach is shingle and pebbles, you can buy shoes to walk into the sea with. However if you book with local tour operators and go to bubble beach it has a fantastic sandy beach and is very clean.
If you ask me if I would go back again, the answer is a resounding ........ YES.
