Kardemena is a lovely little resort, I imagine that the night life is quiet good, but with small children we did not experience this!!!
There are plenty of shops to browse through though I would reccommend shoppping around. Prices are fixed on cigarettes and alchohol.

Louis Helios Beach is about a ten minute walk along the beach front into Kardamena. The resort was well equiped with bars, restaurants and shops. Quite lively in the evening. We even found an airconditioned indoor play area for the kids.
Would definetley return to the Helios Beach and Kardamena.

We didn't go out of the hotel much as everything we wanted was there. we did eat out once on the harbour and found it expensive for what we had (82 euros for a meal for 2 adults and four children with 2 drinks each - non alch)
The little train ride was excellent value - 1 hour for 2 euros adult and 1 euro child.
short walk to resort but quite hard going for a 5 year old in the heat. Taxi only 5 euros.
Several travel agents selling trips much cheaper than the reps however when we went on the greek night our reps really looked after us with drinks etc and made sure we were ok all the time - so it was worth the extra I guess.
We met several people who had accidents on the water sports so be careful your insurance covers you. (Ours didn't cover us for football injury - lucky we didn't need it)
I can imagine it got quite lively after 11pm, but we were back at the hotel by then.

Resort - Good standard
Entertainment - All kinds and plenty of it!!
Beech - For those who do not like sand stay by the pool!!

Kardamana was the nearest town to our hotel only a small place. It as a mixture of old and new pubs, 18 to 30 groups take over the new area not a nice sight.
The enterainment was seeing the young girls falling over drunk.
The only two good things I found was a MacDonalds so our young one would eat something,and a pub that served John Smiths Smooth,(was like necture)
The beaches around this resort are all stoney not very nice to sit on, but we went to paradise beach for the day this was excellent sandy beach well worth the visit.
Don't think we would come back to this Island again.

If you want to go to the main resort, the hotel offer a free bus sevice throughout the day, also the local bus swings by too ( very cheap)
The town ok, nice harbour, restaurants the norn!!!! The town full of youngters on the beer 24/7!
We did go in a few times , took the kids to Mc D's as were having cravings!!!!

We went into Kardamena town twice ,might have been nice once but now full of people with tattoos and football shirts,all seemed to be watching "fools and horses" .Every bar, restaurant had quite aggressive touts outside trying to drag you in. Avoid ( unless you like that kind of thing)

the resort is wot u would expect from a party island lively and friendly best place i have been to for friendly people only saw a hand full of fights in the whole 3 month i was there unlike falaraki n ibiza

Kardamena was absolutely amazing! Its only a small place but everyone is so friendly!

The resort is quite small and much the same as any other with shops and bars aplenty, went one night but found lots of drunken teens, it wasnt really a place for families at night,we prefered to stay in our hotel.
