The whole resort was wonderful and soo clean which shows that they look after there visitors and properties extremely well. I dont think that I saw one peice of rubbish on the floor the whole week that I was there.
There are various typres of entertainment throughout the resort whith include theme nights and a karioke bar which makes for a great night ou. even if you cant sing you can get up and try.
The beach was fantasic although you do need to get there early so that you can get a sunbed other wise your on the sand with your beach towel. I must say though that it is a great day to go and spend the day there as there are a few bars and the sea is great.
This is the best resort I have been to and Im going back in may 2007 so look out here we come.

We spent a week here at the very beginning of the season. Not everything was open until about midweek, but not inconvienced at all.
Everything we needed was there and the food was great, tried different places every night. The resort was well placed to get to other parts of the island.
Forget what reps say about the taxis ,they were both easy to get and cheap. At every taxi rank there is a board on the lamppost like the busstops at home but these have the fares on them to other towns etc, so you dont get ripped off.We very much enjoyed our stay here, and will return without doubt as there is something for everyone plus the people are so friedly and helpful.

Not much to do except shop and drink. Wwhere going to hire a car for the day, which was quite cheap, but our credit card was stolen. It is cheaper than getting taxi's everywhere. And the buses are hard to get on to as they run every 45 mins and are always full. don't pay for the boat trips, go to the beech and pay the boats directly. Hire a car and go to the water park it is cheaper to get in after 2 pm.
Road are very unsafe, drivers are mad!!
Staff in the bars are friendly and the drunken corner was one of the best bars we went to, staff where great, food was cheap and good quality and served fast.
Laganus was really good, but it was full of clubs not wouldn't go there at night with young children, but would be ideal for young adults.
Didn't like zante town as we counldn't get around with the baby in the pram and the buses would stop so we had go get the horse and carriage back (15 euros)

Plenty of variety of resturaunts, we chose mainly greek cusine and were not disappointed with any meal.Best Mousaka we had was at a small family run resturant "The time out" Food there is delicious and very reasonably priced.
The resort is similar to other Greek island resorts we have visited, we will probably go back, and would recommend the Amarylis if you are looking for a good standard of self catering accomodation, as it is spotless.
We were there early season, so entertainment not in full swing , but enough variety to suit most taste
Aiport very close by, but didn't feel airport noise a nuisance, found it interesting, plus point is that you don't need to take travel company's transfer, as its only 10 euro in a taxi, saves you the ordeal of the usual bus tour around the hotel

Visited Kalamaki in 1999 and pleasantly surprised that it hasn't changed that much in 7 years, a few more bars but still very low key in comparison to the neighbouring Lagana.
Definately recommend hiring a pedelo and try turtle spotting along the beautiful coastline.
Dias restaurant left out of the complex was excellent, Labros went out of his way to help.
Also worth a visit for a quiet drink in lovely surroundings, Rodels bar, it had only been open three weeks but a pleasant change to the cocktail bars along Kalamaki main road.
Cronulla Hotel has a lovely pool area if you fancy a change of scenery during the day (you can also keep track of the temperature on the display outside Drunk Corner).

Kalamaki is a nice quiet resot with plenty of bars and restaurants, the entertainment can be a bit low key but if its night life your after Lagannas is only a short taxi ride away .
The beach is not the prettiest of beaches in the med , it is a breeding ground for loggerhead turtles so I guess they are probably limited to what they can do with it

For good food eat at Paulo's just across the road. For decent prices on trips and car hire, etc. try Skytravel just further along.
For a good night out, visit the Venue bar and tell Tony (the owner and guy on the door) Scouse sent you (he's a Scouse as well).
The only downside to Kalamaki is the fact that you have to walk, for some part, in the road as there is a lack of pavement in some areas, so watch out for the cars, quads and motorbikes!

kalamaki is basically one main road, but has lots to offer, some fab restaurants inc Parthenon and Diaz, mermaids served us a fab meal the first time we visited but on ordering the same the second evening we were gobsmacked in the difference in taste, making most of the food ordered inedible?? some was reduced from the bill though without even complaining, so that was good. Venue bar was a hit with us, cheap beer/drinks and soft drinks, pool table and games for kids, tvs, excellent friendly staff esp owners and shamus (double of jeremy sprake from airport LOL) who did big bingo everynight the kareoke a great way to round off the night!!
we used Sophias supermarket which was very cheap compared to most and Cavos travel which had some great deals esp if you have kids- my advice tho would be to do only the half day boat trip to smugglers and not the one around the island as once you leave smugglers you spend about 5 hours looking a cliff faces and the boat is very expensive so take your own food and drink and wear suitable water shoes for smugglers as it is very rocky.
Kalamaki is very clean BUT many of the bins are left open and they are in the middle of a fly epidemic at the moment, this would be me only reason for not returning at the moment. they are everywhere, as soon as you lie on a lounger they land, people look like they are taking fits all day and everyone complained about them, I have been all over the world inc africa and never seen so many, it even made eating out a nightmare as they dive bombed your plates, sadly many bins are crawling with maggots, so basically a simple bag/seal then cover the bins with the lids they have would help vastly.
The beach............. the beach in one sense is excellent for kids in that the water is clean and clear, warm and safe as it is so shallow and is like this for quite a distance out, BUT the sand, this really upset me, being an area for the turtles to nest there are many restrictiones eg, illegal to have bars/restaurants etc (there is one which we were told was illegal?? but had the only loo for ages)The sand was like a giant ashtray from one end to the other and there where piles of litter here and there, but as a smoker I was ashamed to see how others left it, turtles or not, kids use it. We always take a rubish bag and use a can for fag ends and its a great shame some have no manners or respect to do this, its disgraceful!
45 mins along the beach is lagana, some great shopping and also a haggen daz and kfc/pizza hut and mac' for the weaker moments.
Kalamaki is a lovely destination and I will go back once the flies leave!
