Buggibba is nice for families and couples though probaly not groups of lads or girls out for a holiday. Loads of bars and restaurants along the seafront promenade. Amusements for kids also. Nice plaza area with horse and cart sightseeing rides. There are plans to add a man made sandy beach in this area in near futur.

Filthy, overpriced and a disgrace.
Service staff are rude and leave you waiting for hours on end.
Avoiud like the plague - or that's what you may come down with.

The resort itself is fairly commercialised. Its very built up and is a bit of a concrete jungle. There is no beach as such, although you can dive off the rocks if you dont mind the extra peril of avoiding the used condoms scattered around. Whenever you venture from your apartment, you are accosted at regular intervals by timeshare touts and trip organisers which really became annoying. All in all, it just wasnt 'my thing' and I will be avoiding Malta in the future at all costs!

Buggiba has bumper cars, restaurants, bars, etc! (in that order for us!) we ate out every night so it does get a bit challenging when you take kids if they, like mine, are fussy eaters! You do see the same menus appearing place after place, although there were other choices, some beautiful looking places, but my kids wouldnt go in them! (or I didn't think they would behave well enough anyway!).
We didn't have one single problem all fortnight with food, never had a bad meal, but you must expect typical 'abroad cuisine' at most restaurants if you want something hot and fast before the kids freak out!
Although, Pizzahut and Macdonalds both feature in Bugibba which gives us a touch of home, we used both and they were the same standard as home!
The square is the starting point to begin food and drink really, it's where the most choices are. Sunday's is very busy as it is a local day off and it does get noisy and crowded, but not too bad! Plenty of chocie with bars etc and shops and restaurants.
Streets are again, very typical abroad style, dusty! everywhere! watch the whites here! Not as pretty as areas such as Valetta and Sliema and St Julians, a bit more cobbly and more where people live in flats etc, but overall, not too bad!
Munchies bar across the road from the Buggiba Holiday Club was the place to be for the footie matches, grand prix, etc, etc - hence us living in there most of the holiday!!
Lovely friendly people in there!
Overall, a good holiday, not masses to do at this time of year for the little ones or the teenagers. locals are lovely and friendly, and helpful, gorgeous weather, good food - good time!

The one thing I have to say is the Maltese people in general are very friendly and helfpul and all speak English.
Hotel listed in Buggiba/St Paul's Bay - depending on which brochure you pick up. Buggiba is a good 20 minute walk downhill from the hotel (all uphill on the way back).
Everywhere you look there is building work going on. The pavements (if they exist) are full of cracks, rubbish, dust from the building sites, etc.
Beaches: no sandy beaches in this area so can't comment on them.
Resort Entertainment: didn't go looking for any, but didn't see any either (unless you like Bingo and Casinos)!
Jeep Safari: if you decide to go on one go to the Captain Morgan office on the main road (on the corner near to the garage) and ask for Rambo - you'll have an absolutely fantastic day out.
I would maybe go back in a few years (hopefully the building work will have finished by then).

I believe you do get told before you go that there is no beach!!! Malta is not a beach Resort! There are a few beaches and if you find them they are wonderful! i have been 6 yrs running now and i would go back in an instant!! The streets might not be fantastic but are they in the UK??? Friendly people, Night life is good if you know what your looking for and where to find it! There is way too much to do in just a 2 week holiday, im not a religious person but the churches are amazing! Even on Christmas day i was swimming in the sea. please please please let me go back there. There local jewellery is so dainty and pretty (Filagree) you can go to where its made aswell and watch them make it. Anyone who says they were bored in Malta needs to open their eyes abit more and stop looking at all the commercial stuff and look at the actual Island and its beauty!

The resort itself was appalling, unclean, cats everywhere, timeshare everywhere. Beach what beach unless you like rocks. Never ever again. Goodbye Malta, even on the plane home everybody cheered when we left the island.

Bugibba is a very friendly relaxed resort.
No beach but lovely rocky coastline with clear blue unpolluted sea.
Lots of bars, restaurants, fruit stalls.
No lager louts or rowdies and felt very safe walking at night.

Now quite shabby, lots of building work in town centre, but tidy around hotel area, don't try to feed the cats, most like a taste for human blood.
Great bars down side streets, with cheap grub.
All we can say is visit and explore.

Bugibba seemed a clean and friendly place the evenings at
Fat Harry's were thoroughly enjoyable. There is no sandy beach only rocky sunbathing area. For the beach types a
short local bus jouney will take you to Malta's main beach
area. The bus ride should be entertainment for you. Most of the ancient buses have small shrines near the driver and locals cross themselves on boarding the bus. When
the driver sets off you know why they do.
