The resort offered plenty of places to visit at night or during the day it was pretty central to get to the bus station and the bus services and prices were excellent even if some of the buses looked old. But that is Malta for you and who would want to change it.
We would definately go again. I would not hire a car the next time as the buses were convenient, cheap, and part of the fun of being on the island.

We went to the resort in November 2006 and I was amazed to see people swimming in the sea!! The weather was glorious and it was lovely going back to the UK in early December with a tan!
It's a lovely resort, the locals are friendly. Walking along the prom is great and stopping for a coffee and cake at one of the kiosks is wonderful and usually very cheap.
There's a few shops and restaurants and it's not too touristy.
Word of warning - watch out for the time-share touts, they stood outside our hotel, in the streets, in shop door ways. One day a car screeched to a halt next to me, a chap leaned out of the window and tried to sell me time-share, I found that quite a scary experience. The touts were everywhere and believe me they're persistent. Shame really, it's such a lovely resort and it's being spoilt by the touts.

Great resort easily accessible from the Palm Court, Pretty much on the flat. Excellent access to local buses for getting anywhere you want to go in Malta and inexpensive.

The Qawra/ Bugibba area has been described elsewhere and I don't think I can add much more. The area is currently being besieged by time share touts who can be persistantly annoying to say the least. There's quite a lot of building work going on around the resort. On the plus side there's loads of bars and resaturants which offer very good value for money which is quite handy if you don't get on with the food at the Palm Court.

It is cleaner now than in previous years. there is a natural kind of dust that you come to expect. I believe a beach is planned for Bugibba.

We found Qawra/Bugibba itself rather quiet, presumably becos it was October - in some ways this was good - no timeshare touts (we only ever saw one) - but also everything seemed to close rather early.
However we found several good restaurants and I would recommend the Overflow, Little Italy, Indian Breeze, and Hannibals. Bay Square in Bugibba is a pleasant area to sit and have a drink and decide what to do next, and there are plenty of bars and restaurants around there.
There is a nice bar opposite the Suncrest hotel called Cin Cin which does good lunches on the balcony and then opens again at 8pm as a cocktail bar. Also the cafe bar at the front of the Qawra Palace next door, stays open late.
The bus system is very user-friendly, although you need to be prepared to stand. We bought a 5-day bus pass for 5 Maltese Lira and collected a free bus route leaflet from the bus station in Bugibba.
I wouldn't visit Qawra/Bugibba again, as I prefer to try somewhere new - however I would suggest that if you want a bit of nightlife at this time of year that you try St Julian's - we had one evening there (there are midnight and 1:30am buses back on a Fri and Sat night)and found lots of restaurants and bars (can recommend Cafe Raffael overlooking Spinola Bay).

We visited quite a few places in Malta and we took the ferry over to Gozo.
We went to Valletta and visited many of the fantastic historical sites, Churches and other places of interest and we made time to relax as well. The Maltese people themselves are beautiful friendly people the only downside if you can call it that was the timeshare people but we even made friends with some of them!
Everything was in easy distance. The buses were close to the hotel and Freeway were only to pleased to take us anywhere we wanted to go.
What more could we ask for.

Main road and prom quite good but away from them it was dirty with unsafe pavements and roads with big holes so you had to watch where you were walking or you had a chance of falling. Once you got to the open area where the bus station and the main shops were it wasn't quite as bad but you still had to watch. Beach was rocks which is usual for Malta but was quite dirty with a lot of rubbish lying around.

YES and we are doing this year. This price is amazing for a half board holiday in this beautiful country.
