Dirty, scruffy area reminiscent of something from the middle east.

Qawra is pretty quiet, but Bugibba is only a 10 minute walk away and that is really nice.

Stayed in Qwara before lovely resort, clean, there are lots of bars and restaurants, the beach is quite rocky but also flat so you can lie on sun loungers, yes will be going back again.

Qwara is a good base for anyone who wants to travel round the island due to the bus terminus right in the middle of this resort. Cleanliness was ok, resort entertainment seemed fine there were a variety for everyone. The only blight seemed to be the time share touts, everyday we told them no but they kept asking us, it gets a bit monotonous and you try to find different ways past them.

i would definately visit this resort again because it isn't yet commercialised but convienient for the other livlier resorts. it is easy to get to other parts of the island and there are many good excursions on offer at good prices. it was nice to see such a clean environment, coming from a dirty city like london!
the entertainment wasn't particularly family friendly and suited an aquired taste (country or rock 'n' roll) and the beach wasn't that nice either. it was very small and very dangerous. my mother slipped and fell, grazing her elbow and hand.

Resort was ok and had your normal restarants, bars and gifts shops. (Best to walk 5-10 mins into Buggiba)
No beaches just rocks.(a couple of nice beaches like Golden Beach are a bus ride a way) You can find areas to sit and enter the sea or use ladders provided.
DO NOT GO TO MALTA FOR A BEACH HOLIDAY AS 90% IS ROCKS.
Got sick of the gift shops selling same old stuff. No high street style shops selling clothes, perfumes, shoes etc. You can walk the length of resort in an hour. Nothing much off the front and apart from the bumper cars and trampolines nothing for kids.

Qawra was ok, there were some nice restaurants along the seafront. A short walk took us to Bugibba which has a small town square with restaurants, this was a bit livlier.
We went for a relaxing beach holiday so didn't attempt to visit anything else whilst there. Qawra doesn't have a sandy beach so we got a bus from the main station around the corner to Golden Bay Beach, this was lovely but the water was filthy!!
We then tried Mellieha Bay which was a perfect sandy beach with clear water. The bus cost 50c each way (approx £1.68 in total)and took about 25 minutes to get there. The Sun Loungers were expensive at 1.75 Lira and brollys were 1.50 Lira but a luxury worth having!
The Maltese people that we spoke to were all very nice, the only downfall is that some of them feel the need to steal from you! Also, they do not know how to queue and will push in front of you wherever you are!
Although the resort was ok, next time we would stay nearer to a sandy beach.
