Second visit to this resort in 2 years, and will no doubt be back again and again. If you can manage to avoid the hundreds of time-share touts, the rest is most enjoyable - having had experience of giving them the brush-off last year, I don't think they will take up too much of our precious holiday time this year.

One tip - DO NOT book excursions through your holiday rep, almost every shop in Qawra does them at a third of the price you'll get them from the hotel reps, and we found them very good, with brilliant bus drivers with a great knowledge of the history of the island.

Much has been done to improve the resort in recent years and has a busy happy feel about it.

Excellent base for travel to other parts of the islands.

Not much night life in resort so ideal for quieter break. There is no beach only volanic rock so not ideal for beach lovers. The shop keepers are incredibly friendly as the Maltese people.

Went to Mdina by bus. Cost approx 80 ml and was definitely worth the visit.

Visited the Blue Lagoon which was so busy from all the tourists being dropped off from cruises that not only could you not lie on the very, very small beach, you couldn't even sit. It was standing room only!!!!. There was only 2 huts there selling drinks and food so if you go for day or afternoon, be prepared. The water was lovely though (once you waded through bodies to get to it)

The resort of Qawra is lovely, clean and well maintained, although there is building going on, as there seems to be no matter where you go, plenty of entertainment in the bars. Will be going back at the end of the year.

The resort is fairly laid back but look out for sales people who try and entice you into local hotels this is the only problem we had. Although they generally took no for an answer.

When we visited we travelled every where with bus the transport links are excellent far better then we have in the UK and very inexpensive.

On the plus side we managed to swim with Dolphins on our visit.

Malta is a beautiful rugged country which is still relatively unspoilt.

resort entertainment was pretty good, dont think its for the younger crowd though, qwara is fantastic as a base to stay, it's bus depot caters for all resorts, and fare is cheap, brilliant for sightseers, town of valetta is fantastic. meliah bay is absalutley stunning, its only a beach, but its like a paradise beach.it is such a shame the palm court mars the island

Beaches(although you have to travel) are good, shopping good, history plentiful - Valetta is worth a full day.

Maltese people frendly, more so than some other european countries. Qawra is good as it has the bus station handy, Buggiba a short walk away, and Sliema a nice bus ride away.

As a whole the area was very clean. The local Maltese put out their rubbish daily in sacks and it is collected early morning so it is very rare to see any rubbish lying around. However, as there are quite a few buildings half built it does tend to take on the appearance of a building site in places. The evening entertaining around the hotel area was fantastic. Every night there was plenty of different options available, we even saw Elvis in a local pub one evening. The Beach has only just been completed we were told. It is man made and not comfortable to lie on but if your prepared for a short bus journey of about 25 mins the beaches availble on other parts of the Island are lovely. I would recommend a bus ride for the entertainment factor if nothing else and it is a very cheap way of seeing the island. If asked would I visit this resort again I would without hesitation say yes.
