We loved vilamoura, even though it was very quiet at the time we went. Very clean, and the beach was beautiful-but too windy to sunbathe! Regarding entertainment, there was little on, Rui's Bar and carverey in a square near the pharmacy was ok for kareoke, but they take the micky in their drink prices, nd the food was not all that either.

For eating we tried the steak house, rubber and nasty and with grumpy staff. Figos was terrible and pricey, petunias was ok and we would return their, Cadyshak was dreadful and shuld be uplifted to alburfeira with their attitude.

The indian under the olympus was probably the worst thing i've ever eaten in my life. Shakespeares ws brilliant, great value for food and drink, they do great homemade steakm pies and their steaks are fabulous, it was also very clean and the staff are always cleaning which is good to know.

The casino was fun, but watch how much you spend...its tempting to keep going. All in all we would definately return, but at a slightly bussier time of year,

A very adult and grown up resort. Based around the marina area with its huge yachts. Very up market and cosmopolitan.
2 great beaches. Loads of great places to eat.

Vilamoura itself is lovely and must recommend Falesia Beach. The restaurants are excellent and caters for every taste, one in particular is Rui's bar (opposite the chemist) the cavery is scrummy!

We stayed in Vilamoura, its well worth visiting.
The marina is very impressive and theres lots of pubs, restuaurants and shops to visit.
The nightlife is very good. We recommend 'Shakespeares' if you want some English food. Its English owned and the food is out of this world.
There are lots of Taxi's taking you to and from Vilamoura.
Cigarettes and alcohol is very cheap, but shop around first as prices vary.
Rumour has it that Cliff Richard has a Boat in Vilamoura Marina called 'Batchelor Boy', we didnt see it but mind you there were over 1000 boats there.

Beautiful resort centred completely around the marina fantastic restaurants especially the old navy (easily one of the best places I have ever eaten) and the Italian in the corner with the glass (bad description but you will know where I mean when you see it.

Its a small place so you find yourself walking around the marina for everything you want to do but the whole area is so nice you don't mind that, some great bars as well visited Figos and the 19th hole quite a bit as there was a lot of sport on (plasma screens everywhere. We will definitely return to Vilamoura

Vilamoura was lovely, but it was not our sort of place, once you've walked around the marina a couple of times, there was not much else to do if you've got a teenage child.

Great for if you like to spend your days at the beach (which was lovely and not too crowded).

There were plenty of restaurants around the marina, and we only had one meal which was disappointing, we had to send the meal back because the meat was underdone. But every other meal was great.

Vilamoura is a wonderful modern resort, with something for everyone.

The focal point of the resort is the marina, where the rich and famous keep their yachts. The marina is surounded by a handful of 4* and 5* hotels at one end and is lined with shops, bars and restaurants.

At either side of the marina entrance is a beautiful sandy beach. Boat trips leave the marina 2-3 times a day and are excellent value for money.

There are plenty of places to eat out in Vilamoura, with the best restaurants to be found hidden behind the marina in traditional courtyards.

Vilamoura is ideal for couples, young families and older people.

Visited in early May, it is not really a family resort, there is little for the kids to do, but fine for couples and groups.

The resort is basically just full of golfers, every bar is full of 25-50 year old men, usually in groups.

Have to mention the Chinese restaurant on the Marina called Zi Yu, an absolute gem, spotlessly clean, superb food and first class service, also just off the Marina in the corner near Figo's bar, the Ostra D'Ouro is a Portuguese restaraunt that also has excellent food and service and not be missed.

Vilamoura has a lovely harbour and many restaurants to choose from. There are a few touts but they are not too pushy! Everyone was very friendly and made us welcome. Food superb!

Great waterpark about 5 miles away on the main road to faro. Greatdays out and very reasonable!! Unlike UK the food and drink prices are veryasonable and the kids had a great time!

For young kids, if you want a peaceful relaxing time this is the place for you!
