Me and my sister came to majorca for a holiday with our dad and our other sister.
The first night we were absolutely dreading it beacuse of a party that the hotel next to us was having.. I (abbie) didn't get to sleep until 2 in the morning!! but the rest of the experience was fantastic!
half way through our week we made 7 friends and had the holiday of our life here.. us and our friends ages are between 10 and 15 and we all did the mini disco everynight after we were friends!!
it was awful when we had to leave though but luckily we are all keeping in touch and are hopefully coming back next year!
All of the staff were great and the service was fine too.. the entertainment was fabulous and location was the best.. we had a beach on our doorstep! Lee was amazing and nacho is the best waiter you will find!
If you are reading this beacuse you are wondering whether to come or not my opinion is definately yes the holiday overall is a 10 out of 10 definately!!!!!!! We loved it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just back from this hotel on Saturday and we were all sorry to leave. A week just isn't long enough. Had no complaints about our room. We all had nice views overlooking the pool. We never had any trouble getting a sun bed at any time of the day which was fantastic. And if you didn't fancy lounging beside the pool then the beach is on the hotels doorstep. The beach is also lovely, not crowded.

Had an excellent holiday at the Son Baulo. Took our 2 young sons, aged 4 and 1 and it was perfect. Hotel was right on the beach, just outside the resort of C'an Picafort-about a 20 minute stroll along the front. Nice little playground for kids and splash pool.
The hotel was clean and the food was excellent. Never been to a 3 star hotel with such good meals. Great choice of main course and yummy desserts too!
Our first room looked out on to the street so we upgraded to a seaview room, partly becuase the view onto the street wasn't great and partly because the seafront view was gorgeous. Well worth the upgrade price, and the room was much better in general. Prettier bedding, better cot, etc.
Staff were very helpful and polite. Only small fault would be that the mini disco was at around 8pm and then there was bingo til 9:30pm before the show started. This was a bit late for my kids and would have preferred the show a bit earlier.
Excellent holiday though. Would go back there tomorrow!

We saw this hotel last November when we were holidaying at Cala Bona in a Thomson Gold hotel and to be truthful when we saw it we asked ourselves what had we done booking to go there but we couldn't have been more wrong! The location could not be better, you fall out of the hotel onto the beach, the staff could not have been more helpful, it could not be any cleaner and the entertainment although aimed more at the children was very good. There are shops just up the road, a supermarket round the corner and a handful of nice bars. If you want roudy then go to Ca'n Picafort which is about a 40 minute stroll along the promenade.
If we were asked to choose between this hotel and the one we stayed in last November we would choose this one every time. You had to pay for the fridge (a small charge) but we didn't as the drinks and food available in the sea front bar and restaurant were exceptionally good value. T.V. was extra as well but with two television rooms available why pay? We don't like t.v.'s in the room anyway as it's one thing we're trying to get away from and you may get someone in the next room who is unfortunately hard of hearing and then you're in trouble!
We did visit the Thomson Gold hotel up the road some nights to watch their entertainment but it wasn't any better than what was on in ours. We had a Beatles tribute band on called the Comrades who were absolutely brilliant. The only downside of the Son Baulo is that it does cater for children and as we don't have any ourselves one or two of the 'little darlings' did get a bit noisy at times. Meal times were also very loud.

Mum (50),wheelchair user Gran(77) and daughter (12) all rate this hotel highly.
Accomodation ok, had better but also had a lot worse.
We faced the road and though noisy from 8 or 9 o'clock pm, it was quiet soon after mid-night. Wondered about suitability of 4th floor accomodation for wheelchair user (in the event of fire or lift breakdown). 2 Lifts and neither very large, in fact 1 was too small to access with wheelchair.
The food could not be faulted though I suppose some will. Varied, well cooked and presented with plenty of it. I normally do not eat puddings but I could not resist the beautiful concoctions.
If you want to enjoy family entertainment then it is well situated, beautiful safe beach and attractive surroundings on the doorstep. If you want local discos with lots of buzz then it is not ideal, but even pushing a wheelchair I can manage the walk to town centre in 20 mins, and it is a pleasant walk.
Entertainment is family fun, not the Palladium but we did not expect that. The kids club and disco are a credit to the hotel. The staff looked after the kids brilliantly and did different interesting things with them daily.
Next year my daughter will be to old to attend the kids club so I doubt we will visit this Hotel again, I wished I had discovered this Hotel a few years ago.

We have just returned from our first visit to this hotel and were very dissappointed with the location as there were only a couple of small bars and half a dozen local shops selling the same tourist trinkets. The hotel was located right on the beach which was great for the kids as the pool was that cold even the adults dare not enter.
We experienced ants in our room on more than one ocassion and were given a spray to deal with them.
We had hired a suite directly from the hotel via e-mail for 10 euros per day this gave you two full size rooms with two bathrooms and loung which was basic but o.k.
The staff were very helpful but the limited evening entertainment left a little to be desired unless you enjoy bingo etc.
The food was very basic with little to no choice.
If you want an away from it all with the main resort a good 45 minute walk away them this is for you but we shall not return back to Tenerife for us.

We booked a late deal to the son balou to travel in October and we were delighted. We have one daughter, aged 3 years. The hotel food was excellent,my husband is vegetarian, although he eats fish, he managed to find an adequate main meal every night. The quality of food was excellent and very tasty. Limited choice sometimes, but it is only a three star hotel! (It is a very good one at that) The Hotel is very good for families with small children, the pool area is excellent, especially the area at the back for small children. There is a play area too, aimed at older children (5-9). The setting of the hotel is terrific because you can spill out of the hotel on to a lovely little beach. This saves you having to walk for miles with parasols etc and you dont have to walk far to stagger back to the hotel.
The mini-disco is great for small children. The staff were very professional in the hotel and they were all courteous. The rooms were clean, although a little basic. Definitely worth getting a seaview room. Entertainment generally a bit corny, we just enjoyed an evening walk in to ca'n picafort along the prom which is very buggy friendly.

Having visited several child friendly, or super-family, hotels in the Balearic's over the last few years I would say that the Son Baulo is probably about the best. It is no longer officially a Thomson Super-family

The hotel was very clean and comfortable place to be in.
It had a very cool air conditioning; it was a very respectable place to take my Nan to enjoy the entertainment and the food in the restaurant. My Nan does not get out much and this was a very good holiday to go to.
The staff at Son Baulo were very kind and I am hoping to come back here again next year with my family for more than a week so that we can enjoy more out side of the hotel as well.
I would like to see more of the beach even though me and my mum walked across a few times, I would like to see more of the shops and stuff apart from the hotel the entertainment staff were brilliant. I would give the hotel rate a 5 out of 5

We went on a 7 night stay to Majorca on the 3rd of June Staying at the Son Balou hotel im Can Picafort we must say we were very surprised by the cleanliness of the hotel the staff must work very hard to keep it up to scratch The food was out of this world the Staff were always very friendly the Location of the hotel was also great at the quieter end of the resort 0nly a 20 minute walk to the more lively part in all an excellent Holiday would recommend this Hotel and location to anybody
