alot of the entertainment is based in the irish quarter and the square but there are also plenty of good bars and restaurants on the other side of the bay if you do not want to spend your whole holiday staggering from one happy hour to the next

something for everyone
Clean, Family orientated resort. Nice beach. Plenty of Bars and restuarants to choose from. No gangs of youths like Magaluf and the sqaure is great, catch the tribute bands.

Santa Ponsa was lovely and very clean. However there was the occassional dog dirt on the street. However be warned it is a very small resort and those looking for lots of variety or adventure could get bored easily during a 2 week stay. However you can get a bus into Palma and Magaluf etc. We were only there for 1 week and loved the place, found it very laid back and a great atmosphere everywhere we went.
We spent most of our days at the beach or our pool then paid a visit to Daniels Corner for a quick afternoon refresher and game of pool or cards. Irish girl who works behind the bar is excellent and really friendly. Spent most of our nights in Seans Place, really brilliant night and brilliant atmosphere would highl;y recommend that you go here. The two guys Mickey and Danny (I think) were brilliant singers and hosts for the evening. Also went to The Dubliner who also had a great singer on to. We also went to watch football one night and found the best place for this was Hogan Stand due to the big plasma. When we were leaving the entertainment in the square was also just staring but we never got to see anything and thats the only reason I gave 4 for entertainment. There was also a disco called Fama, however we never went as we were usually too drunk after Seans Place haha.
Also great places to eat we went to Crocodillos, Grannys, La Pergola, Hong Kong Chinese, Dutchie Cafe, Murphies Irish Kitchen and the Glasgow Bar and I can honestly say I didnt have a bad meal in any of these, enjoyed every meal. However if you want something a bit different, funky and classy definately try crocodillos, presentation in this restaurant is impressive.
Beach is also lovely and really clean and we just sat at the back of the beach beside the trees in case we wanted a bit of shade. However be warned the little parrot things in the trees make a hell of a noise, it didnt bother me but did bother others. The weather was lovely and very hot when we were there in the 1st week of May and expect that this will rise and rise over the coming months so tkae plenty of lotion. However I did notice that it was a bit chilly at night and was glad I had pasked a couple of shrugs for at night.
All in all I would definitely visit this resort again for a quick weeks holiday.

A very nice, clean laid back resort.
Not surprised that people go back again and again.
The locals were very friendly, helpful and welcoming and made our stay a very pleasant one.

First time to Santa Ponsa people very friendly mostly Irish. Found a nice pub with kids club burtlin berties up the ramp across from the Dubliner very friendly and warm welcome a must if you have children.
Did not go to Santa Ponsa beach want to Palma Nova beautiful beach.
Went to the pirates great night out. Went to both water parks aqua land and western enjoyed both Western closed on sat.
Marine land very poor only good thing about this is the show dolphins at 3 o clock time enough going at 2.55.
Went to the Dubliner paddy Murphy was a big star in my daughter eyes.
Overall best place to eat out was Granny's and Murphy's would return to Majorca but not for a few years.
I probably would stay out in palma nova as I found it had a nicer beach. The square very disappointing note please avoid it as entertainment is very poor. Say Robbie Williams one night a total disaster. Hogan stand nice pub great for football.
Went on the go carts in magaluf disappointing also. Overall a nice break if hiring jet skies can be done from apartment they pick you up and drop you back.
Hope this is helpful

Santa Ponsa was a really nice place, and we spent a comfortable time there. We fell asleep on the beach almost every afternoon, went on a short, inexpensive boat trip that toured some of the local bays, and my friend and I explored the local bars every night. We were there over Easter so it was pretty quiet, so I can't comment for what it would be like at the height of summer.
There was one fantastic restaurant "Meson del Rey" that we went to, with some lovely traditional cuisine, great Paella, and local wine. Sadly we felt there should have been more traditional eateries. We would have loved to go to a Tapas restaurant or bar, but every place with the word 'tapas' on the door was also adorned with a large screen TV and loudly blaring football matches. I understand that may be some people's idea of heaven, but it wasn't quite what we were looking for.
As a traveller I was also quite shocked that this appeared to be a haven for English and German speaking visitors, with a distinctly English/Scottish/Irish feel about it. While I admit it made getting around in daily life easy, having no language difficulties (even though I did try and speak a little Spanish on occasion), I would have liked to see more authentic Spanish or Mallorcan bars and restaurants. The highlight of my trip was when we left Santa Ponsa for a day to go to the highly recommeded Valldemosa, with quite a few stops along the way. We saw a lot more of the type of country we were expecting, and still I feel we barely scratched the surface.
However, I cannot be too negative about Santa Ponsa because, like our hotel, it suited our purposes, and with a little bit of effort we were able to find some great places. And when my friend and I had a red carpet rolled out for us on our third visit on consecutive evenings to a nearby Irish club, it was a fantastic moment.
The main reason I wouldn't visit Santa Ponsa again is because I feel we did as much as we could there. If your thing is lying in the sun on a beautiful beach with dazzling blue water in an English-speaking area, which caters for families and young people then go there, definitely. It's fantastic for that (and we definitely took advantage of that)!
But if your thing is to see places that are completely different from what you're used to where you need to try and get a least a basic handle on the local lingo, if you end up in Santa Ponsa you must hire a car and go at least as far as Valldemosa (which we also did). Palma is close and definitely worth a visit too, and its not too expensive if you share a taxi fare between four people.
All together it was one of the best holidays I have ever been on, and there were no disappointments. It was a five day trip that felt like two weeks.
