Beaches

Seen very little of the beach but what I did see I was impressed, very clean and well manned with lifeguards. The strip is the place to be with numerous bars and clubs to keep everyone both young and old entertained.

S'Argamassa is a very quiet area situated between Es Cana and Santa Eulalia.
There are three beaches within five or ten minutes' walk -S'Argamassa, Cala Pada and Cala Martina. Niu Blau beach is five munutes' drive away or a twenty minute walk along the coastal path.
The path follows the sea all the way, going via Cala Pada beach. You can follow the same path all the way to Santa Eulalia and this takes about an hour from the apartments.
We liked the Sa Trenca restaurant which is on the beach at Cala Martina and the Bora Bora restaurant at Niu Blau. There are many good restaurants in Santa Eulalia, a five minute drive away.
A boat leaves Cala Pada beach at regular intervals for Santa Eulalia, where connections can be made with other boats to Cala Llonga, Ibiza Town and Formentera which is well worth a visit. We bought our tickets for Formentera on the boat from Cala Pada.
The journey takes about an hour and, on arrival, you can get on a free bus which takes you on a tour of the island and to a beach.
The beaches here are beautiful and the water is crystal clear.

Santa ponsa is a lovely resort with a great mix of nationalities. There is a strong Irish influence and the majority of bars reflect this, especially in the main resort area.
We stayed mainly around the Square has a mix of bars, shops and restaurants and offers entertainment for all. Kids face painting and disco early evening and then tribute acts later.
It is a lovely place to spend the evenings and I cannot recommend it enough if you are travelling to Santa Ponsa.

The resort of Santa Ponsa has a beautiful bay with clean, fine sand and clear warm water. A host of watersports are available at a reasonable charge.
We stayed at the Santa Ponsa Park hotel, which is a few minutes walk to the beach and local entertainment.
Plenty of bars, restaurants and shops within the vicinity.
Western Waterpark and Aqualand are a short taxi ride away. Buy tickets from your hotel, as they are 2Euros cheaper than at the parks.
Street entertainers come out at night, there are small bunjee trampolines for the children and a general, laid back ambiance exists around the resort at night.
Would definitely visit Santa Ponsa again.

Santa Ponsa is a great beach resort. We loved the beach and the views.
There are plenty of shops to browse in and a variety of evening stalls. There are plenty of places to eat out and if you want a cheap evening meal you can feed a family of six adults for approx 60 euros, £42.
The sea is lovely and warm to swim in and if you use a snorkel you can see the fish swim around your feet. There was a warning of Jelly fish stinging swimmers and I got stung on the face 2 days before the end of the holiday. This wasn't a problem on our last visit in Aug 2002, but they seem to have a problem this time round.
The lifeguard on the beach put cream on my sting and I went to the chemist and got their advise. Although sore, the sting was not to bad and was gone after a few hours with medication.
I recommend Santa Ponsa as a resort and do visit the Western water park with the kids. Very good.

Overall the resort is clean. The Square offers great family entertainment but down the other end of the town there is plenty of Irish bars for the more young at heart.
The beach is sandy and clean. There is several nice resturants especially Manilos . Santa Ponsa has everything for the young and old. Taxi from the Airport cost Approx 35
Euros.

Santa Ponsa is a clean place, with only a few of the usual small spots that look a bit overlooked, you get these in all of the holiday resrts. There is plenty of entertainment for all ages, we are in our late 30's and had a great time till about three oclock each morning, but Im sure you could still find somewhere open aftre that. The beach is wide and long, its beautiful, and has plenty of waterports.I would go back tomorrow if I got the chance.

SAnta Ponsa was a lovely resort, there is no shortage of bars and restaurants to choose from, if you're looking for traditional mallorcan cuisine, try the Olive restaurant, which is on down from 'the auld triangle' bar.
The beach is clean and the water clear, if you swim out a bit there's plenty of fish to see if you like snorkelling.
The night life is good, but if you want more, Santa Ponsa is only a short taxi ride from Magalluf, where you'll find the famous BCM, i'd also suggest going to 'The Car Wash' opposite Mulligans bar, the music's brilliant!

Santa Ponsa is a lot smaller than its neighbouring Magaluf and Palma Nova. The beach is very clean. There are plenty of good restaurants.
We ate in Dutchies a few times which was excellent. This restaurant is near to the Irish part of the resort. There are loads of Irish bars for entertainment. Another good bar was called Steps where drinks were reasonable and entertainment was provided by a really good duo every night except saturdays.
We mostly went out for breakfast in Grannys, 4.70 euro for the bumper breakfast.
Grannys is situated on the road which leads to the square.
We went up to the square a few times.
There was a Madonna, Beatles and Robbie Williams tribute on various nights.
The drinks were more expensive there. 10 euro for two long drinks of Bacardi/Tia maria with cola light.
Usually these were about 8 euro. We also saw Leapy Lee at the Caledonian in the square after the outdoor entertainment finished about 11pm.
Santa Ponsa is a nice resort if a bit small. Two weeks there was enough for me. Got a bit fed up of the same shops which Deb dragged me into.
It's close enough to Palma Nova/Magaluf
and Palma if you fancy a day away.
All in all we really enjoyed Santa ponsa.

Our room was a private owned room and we were just a little disappointed but this year we are going to fly to dublin then go with budget travel and hopefully get a cleaner room. But it did'nt ruin our holiday! We really enjoyed the entertainment too that was fun! We had a view onto the sea and it was great we are hoping to get a sea view this year as well.
