Caletta Dorada Bungalows
Firstly, let us apologise if this is long winded, however we would rather furnish you with a comprehensive guide due to there being so many negative comments about this accommodation.
My husband and I, along with our 2 boys, aged 4 and 6 yrs stayed at the bungalows between 18.05.05 and 01.06.05. Admittedly, we were apprehensive about staying at the Caletta Dorada after reading some of the negative feedback on the website prior to our holiday, coupled with the fact that a representative from Direct Holidays contacted us 2 days prior to travel informing us that the pool bar would be unavailable until 22.05.05 due to building work.
However, upon arrival, our fears were soon allayed. Work to the pool bar had in fact been completed the previous week it is very spacious and looks great. Some bungalows have yet to have their refurbishment completed but this certainly will not affect your holiday and isn

We stayed here and out of our 6 family holidays we have had, this ranks as the worst.
I usually don't complain, but feel that this hotel needed a kick up the backside and not rely on the fact that they got a gold star in 1999 and thought that would be ok.
The waiters and restaurant staff were like Basil Fawlty but not quite as polite!
The dining room was like a circus and the food was naff, not enough variety and the meats were some butchers left overs.
The room was obviously a smoking room even though none of us did and was disgusting. The one positive was that the kids loved the pool.
The hotel could have been so good with a bit of maintenance and TLC.

Hi,
My family and I went to Caleta De Fuste hotel.My kids were 3 and 2.
The three year old loved the kids club and went every day.The staff in there were great...Slammimn Sam.Jumping Jemma.
I have to say that we had no problems on holiday.No Drunks No Louts and no Break ins.It was a very safe environment for the kids.
The worst thing was when my son jumped into the pool without armbands!!
The food for the two weeks was great.We are not fussy eaters and will eat anything,but we really enjoyed mealtimes.Every time we went to the dining romm,we found the staff extremely welcoming and friendly.
I know some people have posted thet they wished more entertainment for adults after 12pm, but I thought it was perfect.
The hotel caters for kids and it is great that when bedtime comes,there is no music pounding away till 4 am)No Im not an old fuddy duddy...I am 39)There was adult shows after 10pm until 12pm and I found them great.
I would recommend this hotel for great weather and a fun holiday.
I understand that the place has been upgraded so that should be good.
We loved the place and are going again on 14th June this year.
I will report how we find it this time.

This was just a last minute, cheap break and we had never gone All Inclusive before so were a bit worried. However, it was brilliant. The food was fine and the kids loved being able to get as many fizzy drinks as they wanted etc!
The rooms were clean and the bar/restaurant staff were really friendly. The entertainment reps were brilliant too - they are new to the season, but the entertainment was really good.
My only complaint was the fact that there were quite a few break-ins whilst we were there, which I had heard of before we went. As long as you are careful, use a safe and don't leave any valuables lying around on view in the apartment - then you should be ok - even if you are in the apartment!! This is a big problem and First Choice need to sort something out quick.

Just returned from a week all inclusive at the hotel Caletta Amarilla, had an excellent time.
Food was very good, service was very good and entertainment was also very good.
Good variety of food every day with different roasts also a good childrens buffet.
The kids club was excellent with the three kids reps doing an excellent service. The little boy (4) loved it, will be going back next year.

Just returned from week holiday (all inclusive). No problems at all.
Clean apartments. Good variety of food. Friendly helpful staff and reps. Good entertainment.

Unusually for us we booked this holiday on the spur of the moment and at short notice before checking the holiday review forums. When we did we were somewhat concerned about our choice and approached the holiday with some trepidation.
In our experience I have to say, any fears soon evaporated after our arrival and any troubles the site may have had would seem to have been rectified by the management and staff.
We were on side A apartment 8, there was no view but it was quiet and near, but not too near, the noisier pool and bar area. Side B is where the entertainments bar and restaurant are situated and therefore busier and noisier.
We found the site to be smart and tidy with maintenance of the buildings and grounds ongoing whilst we were there.
Our apartment was well appointed and very clean with no insect problems. There were signs of damp but this problem was obviously being addressed and there was no damp smell.
Security of the apartments was an issue that cropped up in some reviews and was one of the main things that concerned us. I have to say that again these problems seem to have been resolved. There is a decent enough fence around the perimeter, lock on the front patio doors, bolt on the bathroom window and latch on the rear drying area door. This latch was a little loose for my liking but a quick word with reception and it was soon fixed.
There is a safe deposit box in each apartment, which for peace of mind I would advise the use of, at a cost

Recently arrived home from 2 weeks stay at this Hotel. We have had a great time, especially the kids.
The hotel cleanliness is very good, clean towels at least every other day and apartments are cleaned, beds made etc. We did however encouter a slight problem with ants, but hey, it was very hot, which is what we went on holiday for and this problem was eliminated more or less straight away.
I have had a better selection on previous holidays as far as the food goes, but it was fine.
The location was good, not too much going on around the immediate vacinity of the hotel at night, but if you have kids, they will want to join in the Mini Disco anyway.
Most of the staff are very entertaining, especially one lady who kept my baby son amused most meal times.
Entertainment is nothing wonderful, but it is certainly watchable. I am just sorry I wasn't fortunate enough to win at Bingo!
I would definitely return, but only if I was taking the kids!

Stayed at this hotel in February, with my friend Vicky, Harry 11, Molly 10 and Jack 14.
On arrival the staff were friendly and the apartments were clean. Supposed to be serviced 5 days ot of 7, but only got maid service twice.
Weather was awful and this made the rooms very cold. Dont go in February. The food was awful, really bad compared to other 3 star hotels I have stayed in.
We suffered power cuts and floods due to the rain, but we had a giggle about that. the bar area was good and you could drink as much as you wanted the bar staff were always happy people.
The entertainment was so so but they worked hard to make us laugh hats off to them. Pasis park is great the reptile show and camel ride is a must. Visit the harbour the kids will love the sealions.we wont be going to Fuerteventura again,to quiet for us.

We stayed herefor one week all inclusive, the food was very good it was very clean the staff were so polite on arrival and throughout our stay, the location was good too 10min from the beach and marina which is a pleasent walk, nice shops for all, also sealions on the marina too were you can have photos taken with them if you book the trip, not too expensive either, the entertainment from the reps was ok, but the people they brought in were more profesional, hymatist, parrot shows, and a juggler who was very funny, we would go back and take nanna and grandad with us as they would really enjoy it too.
