This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

Calletta de fuste was a really nice place to stay. We found a variety of restuarants to eat our evening meals in, which were very good. Piccadilly was our favourite. We also loved Eden's garden, Fado Rock and the China for a take away. The resort was reasonably busy in the evenings, but we didn't stay up for the night life! The beach was really nice. Lots of room and only 7.5 euros to hire 2 sunloungers & a parasol for the entire day. The mini golf courses near the beach were both very good. There were various boat/catamaran rides out of the port + the biggest bonus for us - The local Chipmunks! We found them early on, up on the cliff walk & they became very special. We hired a car for the 2 weeks and explored the whole island. It is lovely with some really good roads! The Oasis Park Animal park near Costa Calma was a good day out & we also found more chipmunks up in the mountains near Betancuria who were very pleased to see us! We will definitely return to Fuertaventura - we all really enjoyed this holiday!

The resort of Caleta de Fuste is beautiful, just what we wanted, quiet with a few nice restaurants and some good bars.
Beautiful beach, a good selection of shops, nice restaurants and good bars, what more could you want!!
We found the locals very friendly and hospitable.

The hotel was about a 20 min walk from Caleta with a number of buildings work going on. You can certainly walk it during the day but probably best to get a cab back at night as the promenade is not yet complete and the roads are not lit for walking along the pavement. Entertainment wise, the island itself is still building itself up on the tourism front, so fairly limited entertainment, although Elvis in Legends was quite a laugh and we'd recommend the terrace restaurant at Pueto Callista (the lighthouse) as the food was excellent. The beach at Caleta looked well kept but the one outside the Elba Sara looked like someone had built war bunkers from the rocks! Wind breaks naturally, as the wind was v strong and no bathing was recommended, lots of rocks by the sea and the current would whip you away to Lanzerote! They are developing man-made sheltered bathing along the coast but not finished as of june 2004.
Main shopping to be found at Coralejo on the north of the island (or take a day trip to Lanzerote) Caleta itself is v small and limited shops and the market is full of cheap tat to be brutally honest! (Watch out for the 'lubbly jubbly' and 'cheaper than asda' lines!)
Overall, an up and coming resort with lots of potential. Seems to mainly attract families as opposed to ravers/nutters! (as far as we could tell there were no real clubs aka Lanzerote). Lots of choices to eat out at and food was reasonably priced (yes, typical brit bars also to be found!). Pleasant resort with friendly people.

Visited Caleta de Fuste, Corralejo, Costa Calma and Jandia in the week of my stay. Found them all great in their own different ways, especially the sports/surf wear and shoe shops!! Beaches were beautiful (especially Costa Calma and Jandia). Caleta de Fuste has just enough, not too many shops, not too many bars and not too lively.
