This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Do not except a bungalow near the road that surrounds this complex i as was told by other holidaymakers who stayed here they were the ones that got robbed on a regular basis . the words quick getaway come to mind

Away from the swimming pool area, very noisy all afternoon, those who wanted their afternoon siesta were not happy.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

plenty of bars and restaurants, the beer garden was a favourite with our family!! Taxis were cheap and easy to get. mini train also cheap but run every hour.

Its a man made beach at Caleta but its verys safe and excellent for younger children. We have been here 3 times now and dont spend much time at the beach so I cant say too much more.
There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and you will find somewhere to eat without any problem. They even have a MacDonalds and Burger King about a mile away in the new Atlantico Centre.

The resourt had a good selection of family restaurants, there were not many shops of a variety that we generally like.
The downside is that there was a steep long hill to walk between the hotel and the centre and it was not possible to get a taxi for 5 people as they would not take us.
There is a good supermarket - the EuroSpar which is cheep and worth going to in order to stock up.
The beaches down south are worth a visit as they were absolutely great, much nicer than the beach in Caleta Du Fuste.

Travel along to the next resort and judge for yourself. We were very disappointed. The beach was nice but it so windy on this Island that it is better to stay by the pool.

The resort was not very big but very clean with a several restaurants and snack bars to eat in. Very friendly staff and a good selection of food & drinks. Only a couple of bars put on entertainment which was either karaoke or typical holiday shows and once you had watched a couple it got to be so so!! We hired a car for four days at a very good rate from a car hire firm called Ecocar which certainly turned our holiday around. If you like to look for things of interest ans small taverns then this is definetly the way to do this. El Costillo has some fantastic natural beaches which are spread around the coastline, ther are no sunbeds for hire or people selling things so make sure you take plenty of water with you.

Avoid Neuve Horizonte if you can. It is a building site with no beach. Calleta-de-fuste just down the road is fantastic in comparison.

The resort was okay, lots of restaurants, not that many good bars where there are things for both children and adults to enjoy, did find one brilliant bar though, wish we had found it as soon as we got there. The entertainment there was fab.The beaches are clean but lots of stones in the sea(so wear your flip flops). The shops all sell the same things, which is a bit boring when you are there for a fortnight,i mean, how many camels can you buy?

This is a quiet resort, but that is what we liked about it! Lots of very good places to eat. Some of the smaller not as posh looking ones had the best food. Several bars with own entertainment, and lots that were just nice to sit outside and watch the world go by. Some good electrical shops but its not much cheaper then home. The beach was fantastic. Two sun beds and a parasol was 7 euros 50. There is a gentle slope into the sea, so safe for little ones, and a line of bouys to let you know where the safe swimming ends. Pedaloes, banana boats, jet skis etc available from the pier. You need to book in advance. Sea is full of fish swimming round your feet. Its a little bit rough to walk on in some parts of the shallows. Several snack bars and shops just off the beach. Everything is really conveniently close.

The resort layout is very spread out with no real centre point. It is fine for a relaxing holiday, with a good selection of restaurants, and music bars for the family audience. If you like booming nightlife this is definitely not for you. the prices are very reasonable, the most I paid was 20 euros for 2 courses + drinks. I would recommend:
Mona Lisa
Nice Italian in centre area ( fairy lights outside)
Slow Boat - Chinese ( 10 people for a banquet + drinks, 80 euros)
Mexican restaurants (2) one by the beach is best
I recommend that you hire a car and go round the island, we had a great day out, the beaches are beautiful near the main resort, plus you can hop over to lanzarote in 12 mins.
