This is a large hotel and I stayed in block two which seemed the best option (I had e-mailed the hotel previously to request) it is not noisy and close to amenities

Rooms round pool opposite restaurants are good, lower level

Shop around for the best price. sometimes it is cheaper to use the internet like Trivago and other times booking with the hotel direct is cheaper, strange but the last booking I made for later in the year I am making a saving of £40 a night on an airport hotel booking. Some hotels like Barcelo give discounts if you register with them under their My Barcelo banner 5% plus 5% for over 55's.

Dont go, There is not one guest I stayed with who enjoyed themself. My poor 3 year old was begging to go home

Do not except a bungalow near the road that surrounds this complex i as was told by other holidaymakers who stayed here they were the ones that got robbed on a regular basis . the words quick getaway come to mind

don't choose the bungalows - poor outlook an isolated.
Local bar the Crazy Goat good fun and excellent food at Mustang Sally.

Don't take a room at the back of the hotel as these seem to be the ones plagued by mosquitoes.

Slightly more than a 20 minute walk from town. Car definitely needed, but well worth it.

This would be good in height of summer when really hot then open roof woudnt matter and definitely need transport of your own

Calleta de Fuste is a nice resort, not too busy and has a good mix of traditional bar restuarants and typical British pubs. It seems where as some of the other islands
may be dominated by foreign tourists, this is very definately an English dominated resort as was apparent from the male dress attire and the female tatoos.

There's nothing going on here!!
Caleta de Fuste has no charm, it's purpose-built and has a very manufactured feel to it. There was nothing to do in the daytime except sit on the beach or sit round the pool, neither of which we are particular fans of.
The only good thing about this place was the weather, fishing off the rocks with a little rod that we bought and the food at 'La Bodeguita' Italian Restaurant.
Other good places to eat are 'O'Fado' Portuguese Restaurant and the 'Fado Rock' Steakhouse over the road. Steer clear of the 'Hong Kong' Chinese Restaurants - we ate there one night and were both ill during the night!
Don't bother going to the capital as there's even less there than in Caleta!
We wouldn't go back to this resort, we found it very dull.

The resort (town) was actually ok once you had walked down a steep hill to get there. The entertainment on site was quite awful.
My advice would be avoid the Castillo Beach Apts at all cost.

Resort was great plenty of food, drink and entertainment with lots of shops if you like that sort of thing

We found the resort of Caleta De Fuste excellent and would definintly go back again. We found everything was really clean and the beaches were good.

Resort overall was clean. Entertainment in the resort was low key and if you're a teenager you would have probably been bored in the evening. Entertainment is expanding all the time though, as lots of building work and expansion taking place.
Such a relaxing resort with lots of great eating places,fabulous weather, superb beach and habour. The people in this resort are so friendly with lots of ex-pats living there.
More than anything Caleta Fusta is a great base in which to explore this facinating island. We will definatly be coming back!!

We were a good distance from the main resort of Caletta de Fuste, but the one time we managed to get a taxi into it.
It's a modern resort and has a man made beach plenty of new hotels and shopping centre, but there was no atmosphere and hardly any good entertainment venues, but it was fairly clean and probably would visit the resort again as long it was no where near the oasis tropical hotel

The resort is really nice and has much more to do than I had imagined. There are a lot of bars and shops to walk around at night and some nice places to eat.
The beach is one of the nicest i've been on apart from the pebbles in the sea, you have to wear flip-flops or it hurts your feet. There is a shop called crazy corner and they take your photos on the beach then you can buy them at night from the shop. There's a market on a saturday, it's not bad but once you've seen one stall you've seen them all.
One thing to make sure of is that you always wear sun cream even if it fels cool. Theres a constant breeze and you can burn really easily without even knowing it.
If you go back to Fuerterventura in 5 years it would be a completely different place because it's being deeloped so much but i loved it and would definitely go again.

Quiet, empty beach that went on for miles. Not a resort for teenagers - no disco's. Lovely and peaceful. Small and safe with enough going on to keep us happy for the holiday.
