Playa Del Ingles is a very good resort to stay in if you are wanting good night-life and entertainment.
Suitable for families, couples and friends - but mainly 18-30 groups due to the bars and clubs there.
The Yumbo Centre: very entertaining, ideal for gay couples from the number of bars such as Tobys or Rickys, free shots and cheap drinks, happy hours all night. La Belles is supposed to be good for drag shows however we didn't get chance to see one as it would have been very late at night.
The Kasbah: very good shopping centre with plenty of stores for electronics such as watches and cameras. If buying anything abroad in one of these shops - always barter and state your price as they try to rip you off!
There were many restaurants but we didn't eat in any of them as we liked to eat English food. We did try El Gauchos steak house but the food wasn't very special and we felt it was quite expensive (42 euros for a simple meal for 4). There were many bars and clubs such as The Garage and Qube which seemed good but we didn't go in them due to tired children!
Gran Chapparell: Nice little centre for bars, shops and restaurants. We ended up going there every night due to finding the Britannia - serving good value and quality English meals that we couldn't resist. The desserts were also very good! The Windmill Pub showed episodes of Coronation Street, Emmerdale, The Bill, etc for people who liked their home comforts.
The Hippodrome and Cita Centre were also good places to go for shops and restaurants.
The beach: Nice row of restaurants along the front including a Burger King and McDonalds. Some arcades and internet cafes for the kids. The beach however was the best part - huge beach with yellow/brown sand that annoyingly sticks to you and gets you really messed up. The sea was gorgeous; warm waves that were really strong and high. Apparently they are even higher in the Winter!! The only problem would be guys trying to sell you sunglasses and watches however it is best to just ignore them or a polite 'no thanks' is all that's needed.
To get you anywhere, there are many taxis around that are cheap and quick - everything is pretty much located together. For a good holiday, Playa Del Ingles is a nice place to go for shopping and sunbathing.

The Streets were littered with rubbish, the Hotel was set back away from the centre and we had to do a lot of walking and taking taxi's to get to anything decent with regards to entertainment.
I would rather go to Maspalomas next time. We had 17 & 18 year old Daughters with us and I would not let them go out on their own, to many drunken Yobs! YES they were British!(makes you feel ashamed).

The resort itself was clean but it did smell a little. Entertainment was found in various bars (Keane's bar very good). Thius bar is just across the road from the apartments. Mini golf beside apartments. Chinese Ming was below the apartments (very very nice). Molly Malones in the plaza was very good. The Irish Tavern in the Kasbah was very good

It is a great resort But, it is only a food and or shopping for sports / electrical / perfume type resort.
It is the same as going to any other Spanish Destination but it is not the Beach of the English as the resort name implies.
No Bar's, Restuarant's or Cafe's cater for the English it is mostly for Spanish and German's.

The resort was not as clean as the last time we visited playa del ingles in oct 04 and April 05,the pavements were found to have sick all over trhem for the duration of the holiday and the street bins were alwatys full,I never once saw any street cleaners.
The entertainement in the resort was suitable for all ages,we will certainly visit this resort again sometime in the future

The hotel was situated in a quiet road but a few minutes walk would take you to bars and restaurants like the yumbo centre and chaparrel centre.
The hotel ran a coach to maspolomas and playa del ingles 12 times a day.
The taxi's were all metered and it cost around 3euros to the beach at playa del ingles.
Every where was clean but cant comment on the resort entertainment as we were in the hotel from approx 9.30pm to watch the shows.
