After 15 mins they said ok but it will be 2 hours wait, quite a lot since we had been up all night but considering it was going to be for 2 weeks it was well worth it. We finally got a room in block 3.
The room itself was fine, basic but clean. There were 2 single beds together in the bedroom with an extra single in the corner (I think it was a foldable one but it was good). The other bed was the sofa. No air conditioning so we hired a fan. You couldn't open the bedroom window at night since it opened onto the hallway. Also we were on the third floor and although there was a lift it was permanently locked, a real pain since we had a buggy.
Still, even the best hotels can get cockroaches in the first floor rooms but I wouldn't have minded being on floor 2!
The pools were lovely, pool 1 had the pool bar so it was always busier, especially since so many people were all inclusive.A word of warning though, a few broken tiles and lots of hoses lying around, health and safety here would have a field day!
The restaurant El Mitador was OK. Yes you could get the usual burgers, fries but they also did attempt to provide vegetables, salad and fruit. We went all inclusive for 4 days and frankly that was enough. You had to book a day in advance early morning to get into Los Zocos's public restaurant The Boulevard (you could do this with your all inclusive option) and it was definately worth it.
I have to mention stealing, without a doubt various members of staff were at it and quite brazenly. Please leave nothing of value out in your room or on your sunbed or even on the table in the bar. We met people who saw it happen! Also one day I went to bed after the room was cleaned (husband took kids to pool)and someone came in and exclaimed something in spanish and ran out. Earlier I had a bag from the jewellers next door and I think it was going to be swiped! They ran off but I was too slow to catch them.
Mapys the jewellers next door looks really expensive and doesn't display its prices. Go in and have a look, My husband got a gorgeous watch and I got a ring for 310 euros. Really lovely.
Night life in the Aquamarina (in house bar)depends on who you meet. I would say its mainly British people, many with England shirts, shorts etc. I really didn't realise that so many people had tatoos either! It would have been nicer had there been more of a mix of nationalities. We did meet some great people and yes they were from England, frankly they gave us probably the best nights of our holiday, shame we hadn't met them earlier (L &G if you are reading this we just about made it to the airport the last day - 2 mins before the flight closed).
Costa Teguise itself is a tourist town that is beautiful but definately past its heyday. The problem we were told was that the all inclusive deals at the hotels and apartments were killing the small local bars and restaurants. Therefore although there was plenty on the la curachas - the beach side walk itself, back off the road you could see many things closed down. Also it was quite expensive to eat out when factoring in all the drinks etc. Thats part of the reason we went all inclusive for 4 days, still wouldn't have liked to have done anymore!
The capital of Lanzarote is only 1 euro away by bus and Puerto de Carman (go there for some night life) is just 2.5 euros away If you take a cab to P de C expect to pay 20 euros or 25 after 10pm.
Shopping is really just the usual tourist stuff, many ornaments....argghhh! Barter with everyone, they expect you too! Beware the electrical shops, they would sell you a nintendo ds for examle and take the charger out of its box then charge you again for it.
The kids clubs were popular with the younger children although my children did come out of them saying they had organised burping competitions. They found it hilarious probaly because its my pet hate! The club house was terrific because it got them out of the sun for a few hours. The cookery class and the chocolate brownie class totally delighted my 6 year olf and 3 year old (who were supposed to be in different groups because of their ages but in fact the classes were held together to my delight).
Oh and there is a netto at the otherside of the jewellers which has a free air pump which means you can inflate what you buy really quickly. Also if you buy an inflatable dingy they generally have a patch for repairs in the box which everyone dumps at netto. Our dingly blew away the second day and I was able to go to nettos and rifle through 3 dumped boxes to get patches which worked brilliantly.
I was told that this week some apartments in block one that have just been refurbished and are gorgeous were being released by the builders. (An electrician we met had a look about).
In summary, we had a good holiday but only because we had a refurbished apartment. Make an effort to chat to people and it will be worth it. I saw no incidents of bullying, anomosity between any of the guests adults or children.
I don't think we would go back but glad we went!

The room was clean and spacious on the second floor. Throughout the two weeks we never had any cockroaches just a small army of ants in the bathroom. Don't leave anything of value about, get a safe! I had a pair of earrings taken from the room which I'd forgot to put in the safe. We also left my sons gameboy in the disco and returned to fetch it about 60 seconds later to find it had disappeared from the table. I kicked up a bit of fuss at reception and it miraculously reappeared 5 minutes later.
The pools were cold but our kids never noticed.
The food was fine and although the usual burgers & chips were always available these was also salad, fruit and veg and pasta on everyday as well as a variety of dishes. El Boulevard was nice but remember to book early the previous day as it gets full quickly. There is the choice of Chinese, carvery and pasta/salads.
The disco/bar reminded me of Butlins but a few tequilas later and it looked better.
My little girl of 5 loved the kids club which is air conditioned and the staff were great.
The animation team were great with the kids and worked long hours all day and night trying to keep guests and children entertained.
All in all we had a great time and this was especially due to the great people we met from Ireland, Northern Ireland, England and France. The majority are English and Irish but we were pleased to see the twenty or so French who were lovely and made sure they enjoyed their evenings to the max!
Some of the people we met were in unrefurbished rooms in blocks 1 & 2 and said they were pretty dire so don't accept these. The staff will try & fob you off. A couple we met were in the newly refurbished block 1 rooms and these were lovely.
We've staying in better & worse hotels but our kids had the time of their lives. The children ranged from babies to teens and all got on fine. I hardly saw my son who swam, played footy and hung around with the tons of kids he met. Lots of tears as they all left. For me if the kids are happy then so am I and I can't fault the place for that.
We probably won't go back but this is because we like to try different places but if you've kids and have to in peak season and you get a decent room its fine.

Food in both restaurants very good. A bit repetative, but what can you expect if you're all inclusive for the duration of your stay?!
Location ideal for access to resort and beach.
The entertainment was the main issue for our holiday. We had booked a First Choice holiday again this year, after travelling with them last year and having a wonderful time, due to the kids clubs [namely Wavelength] entertaining my 10 year old son for up to 8 hours a day, with numerous activities, including water sports/competitions etc. We assumed that we would get the same service at this hotel. However this was not to be and there were very limited activites available, the majority of them being payable, not that we minded that, but a few of them were day trips off site, which we didn't think were appropriate. Hence, my son did not attend much and could not make the friends that would have made his holiday so much better. I think the younger children's clubs may have had more on offer.
Also, couldn't get a sun bed for love nor money and therefore spent the majority of our holiday on the beach, which was lovely, but again, my son did not have the opportunity to make the friends during the day time around the pool that he could have played with in the evening. The evenings were painful! The Aquamarina Club is like Butlins, and as I say, there is no entertainment for older children, just the kiddies disco. Most of the pool tables, etc. which might of entertained the older children seemed permenently out of order. The animation team tried their best, but two weeks of watching them mime to show tunes really is too much!
Needless to say, we will not be returning to the Los Zocos.

The food was plentiful, best breakfast we have had abroad, there was also plenty of choice. Meals were served in the restaurant at set times and throughout the day snacks of cheese, ham, salads and bread, fruit, ice cream and soft drinks where available, beer and wine were available to help yourself to and stronger drinks from the bar. El Boulevard is next door to the complex and can be used daily by AI provided you book, we went there most evenings as the entertainment was geared more towards adults; and offers Chinese, a carvery and similar menu to the hotel, all you can eat...... and believe me some guests really went for it!!
Entertainment was mainly geared to children, this hotel is very family orientated and would not advise going if you don't like kids cos there were loads of them; having said that, they were all kept busy by the animation team who did a great job. We had no children with us but did not find them a problem, might be a different story in the summer when the complex is full though.
The complex is in a good position 5 minutes from the sea. Shops and supermarkets close by, low key nightlife, but plenty of bars and restaurants within easy walking distance, area is fairly flat too. The bus stop outside takes you to Porto de Carmen for 2.40eu, don't worry about where to get off, the bus stops in the old quarter and every one has to get off! Walk down the hill from there and you come to the harbour, from there you can do the whale and dolphin trip for 25eu instead of the 48 charged by the reps. The glass bottom boat goes from there too. A bus can be taken to the market at Tuguiese from the stop opposite, but we did not do it ourselves.
All in all a really good relaxing holiday, we don't tend to return to th same location for a second time, but at the right price for a break in a fabulous climate we would not rule it out.

This was one night too lon. It needs a lot of tlc. Buliding work going on.
The evening meal was ok but the beakfast was stone cold. The room was dirty and lots of broken things in room eg t.v wiring hanging out all over the places.
Ask to be moved.

All inclusive is great for us, a young daughter - fussy eater etc. Plenty of choice, we tend to go all inclusive for all our holidays and this hotel rates the same as previous hols. There is something for everyone. There are two restaurants, El Mirador - breakfast - great bacon, lunch and dinner. El Boulevard is nicer for an evening meal - very similar food and choice but they also have chinese which we really enjoyed.
The hotel location is brilliant, a 5 minute walk from the front and near to local shops and on the bus route.
The entertainment in the hotel is okay, more geared to the children but if they are happy then usually the parents are. During the day there is a packed range of activities if you want to take part. Football, french bowls, archery etc. Not for us but for the active great fun. The kids club is great - well organised, our daughter loved it.
Evening entertainment is split between agua-marina - starts with mini-disco 8.15, then at 9.30 the evening show, we saw a parrot show, flamingo dancers, singers. This lasts an hour then over to a disco. The El Boulevard's entertainment was ok, one night we were being sung to while we ate which was nice, then we saw Grease which was really good fun.
The hotel entertainers worked very hard, during the day and in the evening, they had plenty of energy and seemed to be having a ball!
We would visit this hotel again, it's ideal for a base, for families who just want to get away from it all.

Location close to shops and beach are very nice. Hotel staff work hard from early morning onwards those ladies sweep everywhere to keep place clean.
The entertainment was all for youg children up to the age of around 10 years in our view you badly need a disco for teenagers to meet. We had two teenagers in our party and there was nothing for them in the evenings as is the adult scene we would like to see some decent entertainment for us adults at nights maybe a few shows.
This by the way was our very first visit to the island I hope it wont be our last.

We spent most days at the beach, so the hotel room was not so important to us.
The kids disco was the same every night, no original ideas there.
We will not visit again. We love Costa Teguise but we don't love Club Zocos.

The complex was huge, lovely pool areas, which were kept very clean, large reception area.
The apartment was quite big too with a huge balcony looking over the pool, the beds were lovely and comfy , but the furniture was very dated and shabby. although they are re-furbishing the complex at present, with only little noise from workmen.
The kitchen facilities were poor and the bathroom was very small, but functional. The food was very good, with the bacon and sausage being imported from england it was delicious..also evening meal was very good with a good choice, including chinese one night.
Also as much red or white wine as you can drink, this was a very pleasent surprise, as usually you have to pay for it.
The hotel is situated about a 10 min walk from the main beach( although we never got to use the beach as the weather was awful all week with only short spells of sun, it was very windy) the entertainment was mainly for children which is what youd expect in such a complex, although the El Boulevard catered more for adults.
All-in-all it was a good value holiday and would go back again after the re-fit.
