We came to this hotel for our tenth wedding anniversary, well what a holiday we'll never forget!

Grime in rooms only cleaned twice, plugs hanging off, window in bathroom hanging off, balconey doors wouldn't shut. Not much fun with a two year old. Cuboards with no handles, lift not properly aligned, no teeshirts alowed in pool unless you hire them, no inflatables, cracked tiles in pool, not enough sunbeds, only a handful of parasols, food inedable, cockroaches around food area of which we have photograpic evidence. Pool too deep, kids section too small, pool closed twice due to poo in pool and we had to make our own arrangements for a pool and food and drink.
I would never go back to this hotel never.

This was the holiday from hell. I read reviews from the site and was very tempted to cancel my holiday. I wish I had done, this was Butlins in the sun, only worse.

The rooms were basic, our toilet blocked on several occassions during the week we were there, and as you can imagine the stench in the heat was horrendous. It took us ages to locate the men who are supposed to fix it. Is'nt it the job of the hotel to sort out matters like that? But oh no, the receptionists were so very rude and disinterested.

The food was by far the worst aspect of the hotel, members of staff would regulary shake the bowls to get rid of the flies that had landed in them. I could not eat a thing, and luckily there was a lovely Italian cafe just up the road, which served lovely food minus the flies. However when you have paid nearly nine hundred pounds for a week all inclusive, you expect a much higher degree of standard concerning food.

When waiting for the lift with my daughter who was five and my friends son, six, we spotted a cockroach coming out of the kitchen near the trolley of an employee. I screamed and pointed at it and he waved me away. I was repulsed, check out the insides of the soup dishes if you don't believe me!!!!

The pool was a nightmare. There was never enough sunbeds to go round and the kiddies pool was far too small. When we were there all the gridding around it had come loose, and my daughter split her toenail, which as you can imagine for a five year old, was not nice.

The lifeguard was a total nightmare, and was'nt even in for three days of the week we were there. The pool is dangerously deep, even the shallow end is six foot. Considering it is supposed to be a family hotel, that was'nt what we were expecting.

The facilities for children were horrendous, one boy whist we were there fell and cut his face open on the wires that were connected to a ride. They were'nt strapped down in any way, and were very unsafe.

The entertainment was okay, the plastic chairs were uncomfortable, and the lack of air conditioning was terrible.

Booked this holiday as a last minute deal. Hotel does need updating but very clean - maid cleaned our room everyday and our towels were changed 3 times in the week we were there. The food was great, very good choice, lots of different foods. Pool was deep but there was a lifeguard on duty everyday we were there, he also checked the water frequently. There was lots to do if you wanted to join in. Free bus outside hotel 3 times a day if you fancy a day out. Staff were all very friendly and the entertainment staff all work very hard. This is a 2 star plus hotel and this is what you get, if you want to stay somewhere which is 5 star then it is best to pay for this rather than book a 2 star and then moan when you get here. We went away at the last minute for a relaxing week in the sun and this is what we got.

Room overlooked a building site but no work had been done there since February as I have photos to prove it from when my daughter stayed here. The room itself was clean - beds made every day - no problems with running water - hot when needed.
No problem sleeping - very quiet. Slept with the balcony door open and the shutter drawn so that some air moved.
There was an excellent choice of food every day - hot or cold. The chocolate, strawberry and Peach mousses are to 'die for'!
Hotel staff were very friendly and polite at all levels.
The entertainment was varied with something for everyone during the day and night. The staff work very hard with little respite. Van, Kieran, Hayley, Matt and Becky are fantastic.

ocean club, caaleao salvaje location was very poor being so far from the main resorts with no beach, cleanliness of hotel could of been better, maintainence needs to be overalled completetly, food was not bad but not a wide variety. hotel staff were fairly reasonable, the reps need to be trained in customer care and support not company bull as one of our meembers had their room broken into with a pass key, passports, jewellery and money/cheques were taken and had to sort the problem out by ourselves, which meant that we were lucky that we were a large party to take care of running around and try to sort the problem out with a very large lack of help from the reps.
when asked around the resort we were told that this is a regular occurance, but reps deny it. we asked the reps to tell the other guest to be aware of the problem, but the reps declined to do this, so therefore if anybody is going out there please take care of your valubles, passports etc.
pool is one depth- DEEP and entertainment are trying, as a family we love tenerife but not this hotel.
with a rating of 1-10 we all agreed that it might scrath a 3-4

Hotel was well past sell by date, we also stayed in Room 108, and i agree totally what has been said about this room. i will also be putting in a complaint!!!
How the rest of this forum can even consider going there again i don't know as it was well scruffy, the first impression of the Reception is enough!!!

And there was work being done or was my eyesight failing, as the noise was unbearable & cranes were moving!!!

Also safes aren't even bolted down, so you can walk away with them...

Food was repetitive!!
Hotel staff were very good but the two first choice reps were very rude!!!Entertainment staff did their best in a badly designed room.

Could go on & on but all in all i would agree with the family who also stayed in this room!!

This was rated a 3-4star hotel in my brochure!!!
And i wouldn't even rate it!!! Butlins or Pontins is much cleaner than this!!
Us British put up with too much rubbish!! The Germans or Spanish would have walked out on mass if they had been put in this hotel!!!

All in all don't go there!!

the first room we were allocated was on the ground floor as we had asked, however it looked over a building site and a main road, bad idea with a 2 year old. The smell of drains was sickening, the room was generally dirty and in need of repair and decoration. we asked for an immediate move.

we were moved to the forth floor, still overlooking the building site and road. we were woken up at 01.30 am by the dustbin lorry and were unable to get the baby back to sleep. this happened again the following evening.when we returned to our room the forth day the smell was enough to take your breath away, it was as if some one had opened a sewer in our room. we complained to reception who sent the cleaners to the room who poured drain cleaner down the toilet and plug holes. this only masked the smell. the following day the smell had returned with avengence, we again complained to reception, who again sent in the cleaners with toxic drain cleaner. when we returned to our room the fumes from the drain cleaner were so strong that we turned round and walked out again. the receptionist finally decided to have a look at the room and agreed that it wasn't fit to habitate and offered us another room to sleep in for the evening, this was a dirty hole but after insisting it was cleaned we took up the the only option we had.

we did speak to the first choice rep at the main office, a guy named nick, who assured us that he would let our reps know the situation and that we would be able to move hotels the following day.the following day our reps were oblivious to the situation and spent all day supposedly finding us other accommodation. all we were offered were self catering in a lively resort at our cost. not acceptable. we were given three options, move room ( but informed by the head receptionist that this would be our last move and to find another hotel if we didn't like it), move to a self-catering lively resort at our own cost, or fly home at our own cost. so much for the dream break with our baby daughter we had saved up years for! we decided to look at the room on offer. it was in a better location and only smelt moldy, this we decided to accept, however the shower curtain was hanging off and the door didn't shut securely.

the accommodation was shoddy all the rooms we stayed in were dirty, in need of decoration and repair. the pool and sun lounges were dirty. the hotel reception was furnished with tired and shoddy seating, the dining and bar area looked like butlins circa 1950. the tennis court was strewn with litter and broken wire netting.
the food was tinned and extremely repetitive. after the first 4 days we only had breakfast and spent a fortune eating out.

the location of the hotel, no surprises as to the actual resort but the three building sites surrounding the hotel came as a bit of a surprise.thehotel staff, the head receptionist an exception, were friendly and hard working.
the entertainment was poor again we appeared to be at butlins, two games of bingo a day, and kids entertaining with karaoke voices, not good.

ocean club has got to be the worst hotel we have ever stayed in.

As others have already mentioned the hotel is in need of modernisination and repair, electric wiring is bordering on dangerous, in the rooms and around the hotel, in particular the ice-cream cooler which will gives you a small jolt if you aren't wearing any footwear, as my children all found out. I had to remove a bulb in order to turn one light off.

We don't consider ourselves to be at all snobby, but the room was dirty and in need of a lot of repairs, I had to repair the toilet cistern myself. The shower was very dodgy, if you were having a warm shower and the toilet was flushed, then the shower could scald you.
Towels and bedding changed as per the schedule (not every day) but the room cleaning was done to a minimum.

The pool was way too deep at the shallow end, which made it difficult to play some of the games, a friend of mine played water polo and had to tread water the entire game... well done Andy

Food was reasonable, although the dining room did have more than its fair share of flies buzzing around, and a constant watch on your food is required.

Location of the hotel was poor but we were aware of this before we went, the was quite a but of building work going on nearby, but in all fairness it has to be done and didn't cause any problems for us. The beach is just not sand, but just volcanic ashh and stones. The view down there is very nice though.

Hotel Staff were very good.

Entertainment was reasonable, my wife played bingo most days, and we did notice that the prize money was considerably less than the money being taken in. Nightly raffle done to get rid of some cheap prizes.
The raffle profits are going to Autistic Children which makes it worth while. (I'm checking up on that, as I feel that a lot of money should be going there)

Haley, Kieran, Matt and Becky are doing a good job really with what they have to use at the hotel. They are all young but do their best to help everyone have a good time... well done. Haley and Kieran, you are both way too talented singers to be there... MOVE ON.

Kids Club Reps were lovely, and my only criticisms are that they have other work to do as well and this means they often have to cancel events. Maybe only 4 out of 7 days when the kids could go overall. The other thing that I found a little annoying was the charges that were imposed for so many of the kids club events, even if it was just to get a few sweets or watch a DVD. Very limited on other things for the kids to do, play some table tennis or pool (2 Euros for pool) when the tables were working, A couple of video games and a rundown Tennis/Fooball Court.
Take plenty of money if you have kids, as this all inclusive hotel is far from all inclusive.

First Choice told us that this was a 3star hotel and maybe 10 years ago it was, but clearly it isn't now. I could not believe the wide differences in cost that guests had paid, We paid just over

Well where do you start with such appalling standards, I am sick of complaining about this place for the last two weeks the ocean club I can safely say I have never been to such a filfthy, unfinished place which is full of flies and the staff where just as disgusting in their manner to everything, We had cochroaches on our sink for four days and the only reason we didnt complain is because we actually checked in to another hotel accross the road which was beautiful if the ocean club is 3 star which you advertise falsley as it is not even star rated its 2 keys, one to get in and one to get OUT!!!!we spent very little time at the ocean club, Its DISGUSTING!!! My only advice to people who appreciate a nice place for their holiday is DONT GO THERE!!!!!

This hotel is a No Go Zone if you are a couple or just friends as we were on holiday!

The beach is not finished and would of looked better with a couple of portaloos and some JCB's on it, there are cranes everywhere I dont know how first choice have got away with advertising this hotel in a brochure when the resort is no where near finished.

Luckily we managed to escape the Ocean Club everyday and we ate at Beckhams just down the road which I hasten to add is excellent!!

We found one night outside our room a plate with four cochroaches some bed sheets which looked and smelt like they were covered in sick, can you believe this~ I reported this to one of the very unhelpful reps, can I just add-Its all very well having great smiles but if you dont have the proffesional backup and customer care you souldnt be in the job.
Which I can say all the reps at the Ocean Club fit this criteria, Anyway just to prove the unprofessionalism the cochroaches and the sheets were still there the next afternoon, we were told the maids dont work on Fridays, Nice Touch Eh!!

Whilst we are on the subject somebody was sick in the lift one night and it was clear to smell that although they had cleaned it up no disenfectant had been used. IT STUNK!!!

Just like the general feel of the whole hotel, It might be some peoples cup of tea but it certainly wasnt ours!! We paid
