We stayed in room 213 which we called the prison cell. There was no kettle, toaster, microwave or tv.

The terrace had no view it was surrounded with high steel fencing we were like monkeys in a zoo.

The only good thing about this place we had a pleasent cleaner and the shower worked well.

The entertaiment was from the same person each evening, no wonder it was empty.

We had stayed in tenerife many times before , but this was the worst place we ever stayed in.

We would never recommend anyone to stay here.

Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The noise at night was crazy. Doors banging, a crowd below our room, of lads on a week away arriving back at 5.00 in the morning disturbing everyone.

Our view from the room was indescribable of some dump of old mattress cookers and generally a dump. Broken glass lay on steps to the pool.

No atmosphere or entertainment at the pool. I found the receptionist very abrupt and unhelpful. The place is in need of an overall renovation. On a positive note the location we found fairly good.

We have recently returned from the Ocean Beach
this was our 6th time to this hotel out of 12 years.

Me entire family and I were horrified to see the state of the place. The entertainment is now non existent.

Although the hotel is cleaned every day the overall cleanliness is appalling the maids wipe the floor with the same cloth that is used for every other room in the hotel as well as around the pool area so this doesn't really constitute cleaning as your apartment will still be dirty. They manage to miss most of the bits on the floor and your feet will still be covered in thick black dirt and the maids will also not clean the balcony unless you actually ask them to.

When my family and I first went to the hotel the standards were impeccable to the standard of the hotel actually winning awards. The hotel was so popular that you could never get a sun lounger unless you were by the pool by 9:30 and every single person around the pool didn't have a bad word to say about the place. Now the pool is dirty, and usually empty of people. The pool area is so dull that people just don't go to it. The hotel advertises daily activities in and around the pool but this is bull.

This year ever single person that was in our hotel was absolutely appalled and disappointed people who have also been going to this hotel for many years as we have which we see every year are also never ever going to go back to this hotel.

The entertainment is so poor now the bar is always totally empty other than the bar staff.

Oh yey and the brochures and the holiday reps will also neglect to inform you of the no smoking rule the hotel has recently put into operation. The compare and staff will tell you that it is illegal on the island but that is a lie as all of the other bars and restaurants don't have this rule as they have paid for the licence.

The hotel is actually closing in March to April of next year for a refit but this is also a lie the hotel is actually becoming all inclusive and is going to become part English and part German but I would expect that anybody who is booking/ booked for this hotel will not be informed of this small little detail. Be aware anybody who is going there before March of next year they are already doing what the call "minor" repairs to the place this is actually more like jackhammers and an array of other noisy power tools which are very annoying and the last thing that you want to hear all day long on a holiday most of us have worked and saved all year to go on.

The only redeeming quality to this hotel now is it's location. It is ideal for eating out as I have been going to Tenerife for the past 12 years I would say by far the best restaurant near the hotel is Chaplin's restaurant. The staff are friendly and will do almost anything for you. The best bar is Snoopy's if you are in to family fun although if you are in to more energetic entertainment I would head down to the strip as the area around the hotel is more for families.

My advice to anybody who has been to this hotel before or if you are thinking of re-booking or have already booked for next year I would strongly recommend that you don't book this hotel or if you have already booked that you change your booking as you will be in for a major disappointment my best advice don't waste your money on low rate poor standard hotel, pay that little bit more money and go and stay in a hotel with some real standards.

We are just back from a week in Tenerife staying at these apartments, we cannot recommend them enough. We were pleasantly surprised by the size of the room and patio. We were lucky enough to be put on the 6th floor on arrival so had no problems having to change rooms etc.

The rooms were cleaned daily (except Sundays) and fresh towels every other day.

We cannot comment on the food as we never ate in the hotel, we were on Self Catering basis but there were plenty of cheap restaurants round about to choose from. The hotel itself offered buffet breakfast for 5 euros or buffet evening meal for 10 euros. On Wednesdays and Saturdays they hold a BBQ which is 6 euro per person.

As I said there are plenty of restaurants close to the hotel. Some offering a very decent 3 course meal for 9.20 euros. I can recommend The Ship for breakfast too! If you are looking for a really nice meal but not over priced - try Verdes. Turn right when coming out of the hotel, go straight along, cross at the zebra crossing at the far end and you will see a shopping centre. Keep walking straight on and look over the road you will see Verdes, an Italian restaurant.

The pool was lovely, no problem trying to get sunbeds. The First Choice reps told us at the welcome meeting that they have permission to remove towels from sunbeds if they have been lying empty for over an hour which I thought was quite good.

Beach isn't too far, turn right and go down the very steep hill at the side of the hotel. Really need to get a bannister or something for the first part. You will see what i mean when you visit. We witnessed a few people sliding and falling as it was so steep. The beach was nice though.

I've given the Entertainment a 3 star only because we didnt' really stay at the hotel in the evenings for it so i can't say if it was good/bad. Seemed to be busy enough most nights and quite varied.

We took a taxi into the main part of Las Americas one night and didn't like it one bit - far too busy, people trying to drag you into pubs/bars every 2 seconds.

There is enough to do in the area near the Ocean Beach Apartments if you don't want to be constantly pestered by PR people on your holiday! Only one thing i will say - there are loads of people trying to get you to complete questionnaires/scratchcards etc to win free prizes. A quick "no" and they will leave you alone!

We absolutely loved these apartments the cleanliness and size of the rooms was quite a suprise. We didn't eat at the restaurant as there was so many so close by.

The location is in a good place but its a bit of a hilly walk to the beach.

The hotel staff were always polite and moved our room very promptly because we were on the 6th floor and the balcony is a bit high with small children.

The entertainment is ok mainly the bingo is a winner and don't make plans around watching anything without a backup plan we went to watch the roy chubby brown act but he refused to come on because there wasn't enough people in the bar, it knackered up our night!

The room was spotless and large. Maid service and towels every day except Sundays.

Although we went on a Self Catering basis, we ate in the restaurant twice and had the BBQ once. The meals were first class, as much as you can eat for

Ocean beach is very clean and staff very friendly.

Always ask for a room above the 4th floor then you will get one with a view.

I would stay again no problem towels changed every day and plenty of them. Room was cleaned each day as well. Food in the buffet was good.

We stayed at the Ocean Beach on a Self catering basis, although we ate out every night it proved to be an excellent base.

The hotel was very clean, with friendly staff. On our arrival we were put on the first floor unfortunately over looking the building work next door,(which we had previously been told about)but the main problem was the noise coming from the entertainment two floors down, which didn't finish until two in the morning.

The Rep was brill he moved us almost straight away. We were then higher up and overlooked the pool with an excellent sea view to boot.

The entertainment at night was quite good but quiet in the day. Bar meals weren't too expensive. I would recommend the Ocean Beach if you are looking for a basic clean apartment. Be prepared for basic.

We did not stay in Ocean Beach but we went to have a look ready for booking our next holiday. We heard some good reports about the hotel from friends who stayed earlier in the year. They had been before and had a bad experience with the bar manager a few years before but had found out that he was no longer there.

The hotel seemed very clean. The reception staff was very helpful and friendly and the hotel is situated in a very good position. The pools look nice and clean.

The problem came when we visited the bar downstairs. The entertainment is fantastic. A wide variety of shows for all ages and the entertainer works very hard in involving everybody in the fun. The bar manager, a man named Antonio is the problem. He is very rude and crude. Being two young girls we felt very uneasy. The bar prices are a bit more expensive as with all hotels but this man makes up his own prices each time and no doubt pockets the difference. We could not complain as we were not stopping at this hotel. I urge everybody who stops at any hotel to complain about this behaviour. I will not be booking at this hotel !!!
