We have just returned from the bali today and I have to say I was dubious after reading such comments.

We had a fantastic time in the bali the rooms were spotless, cleaned daily and thoroughly.

We got beds everyday and a parasol to put my toddler under.pool was cleaned daily even had a life gaurd on duty !!

Entertainment for kids was brill it was repetetive but my daughter whose 4 was in awe.

The entertainers were excellent so friendly and I even joined a few activities which I never do as I love to sunbathe.

Free bingo and some funny shows were also good.

Food was fine some excellent nights and the desserts and fruit was fab. The nights we werent keen on the menu we ate out at the many places available.

Just returned from a fab 2 weeks holiday.Rooms were basic but very clean.

Towels changed every day.Never had a problem geting sunbeds,but watch out for sunbed hoggers especially from the apartments,some were jumping over there balconies and putting out towels at midnight,and not turning up till dinnertime.(hotel door to pool didn't open till 8am),my advice would be throw the towels off and give them to the lifeguard if they don't turn up after an hour.

Hotel entertainment staff were brill.Hotel run kids club,all the kids could all go together whatever ages.Thomson kids club was o.k but I had two kids in different age groups so if they wanted to join in they couldn't go together.

Food was O.K but gets a bit repetative after 2 weeks.

Would recommend this hotel to families.would def go back!!!

This was the third time we had been to the hotel - we met people who had been 9 or 10 times!

We have enjoyed it every time - the kids love it and are most disappointed that we have decided to try somewhere new next.

Rooms were clean, any problems were sorted within the day.

Entertainment for my two young children was second to none - they loved it.

The food suited me and my husband but we struggled for our fussy two children who weren't too happy with the choices!

Would definitely consider going again but they could do with removing the hill!

We stayed in the Bali for two weeks and I have to disagree with quite a few earlier postings. Having just got back on 22 May 06 I found the rooms were kept exceptionally clean every day with clean towels/sheets and beds made etc.

There is now no smoking in the main bar so if you dont smoke you dont have to breath it in and if you do smoke there is a smoking room or just go out by the pool or you can smoke in your room.

I would say the Bali is very clean all round just a pity about the people who are so selfish and arrogant by placing towels on sunbeds as early as 7 in the morning hogging them for hours with no intention of using them till late afternoon. (I think the hotel should bar this selfish attitude as these people obviously have no respect for anyone else except themselves). The pool areas are cleaned every night(there is also small plastic ashtrays available in the cafe part to bring out (of course the towel morons are probably the ones who couldnt be bothered to get an ashtray as they have no respect for others-see above about sunbed hogging)and the sunbeds placed in an orderly fashion till the towel morons get there in the early hours.

My advice is if you go to find a sunbed and no one comes to their towel within a hour or so just throw it on the floor.

Whilst the food offered a good choice I dont know how people on here can say it was excellent (god knows what they eat at home because it was in my view very undercooked and disgusting to eat making you feel sickly every time you ate in the morning (I ended up having just boiled egg on toast every day and got fed up of it). The bacon and fried eggs were swimming with oil as well as the bacon being raw pink (maybe its just the way they like it). The beans were cold all the time and my daughter is 10 years old and she would usually eat anything but even she hated going down for breakfast or evening meals (we only ate in two nights out of fourteen eating out all the other nights). My daughter only ate cereals really yet if you got to the Sunnyview cafe the food you pay for in there is quite good (would advise you just to have cereal then go to the cafe when it opens for a bacon and cheese roll-bacon is nice in there or burger and chips etc).

The hotel location is excellent and it is only a couple of minutes up the hill so quite easy to do after a couple of times. Central to beach, marina, pubs and shops. Hotel staff are excellent friendly and very helpful and the entertainment was ok in the day with games and activities by the pool though the kids clubs are at stupid times in the afternoon usually meaning that if your kids go to them you are stuck in the hotel nearly all of the day (which is ok if you have your towel on a bed for the late afternoon-idiots)but at night it is rubbish.

Mini disco (same songs in same order every night at 8.30) then very cheaply done entertainment mainly by the same staff who do the games in the day which never starts till 10.30pm and silly things like big brother?

Reps are sometimes helpful but I tend to think that if you havent booked any of their expensive days out they are not interested in you.

We were told our bus would arrive to collect us between 6.30pm and 7.15pm so we were in the hotel reception area till about 6.55 then went outside to see if there was any sign of it, but at 7.20 it hadnt turned up so I went in and asked the rep,who said we must of missed it, no one came to tell us it was here and the rep was very unhelpful saying we would have to make our own way by taxi (which we did) so reps are really very ignorant and unhelpful.

Would visit the area again in a couple of years but never stay at this place again.

Hi we have just returned from another great week in the Bali this is the 2nd year running we have had a fantastic time there the hotel staff were very helpful, rooms cleaned and towels changed every day.

Food was excellent cannot understand how people can complain. Thomson reps were also great help weather hit 90 a couple of days whilst we were there so we were very greatful of the pool, would recommend a trip to the marina especially at night its like a city all on its own we will definitely be booking this hotel for next year.

Just returned from 2 week break. Room and hotel areas all very clean.

Food very good, plenty of choice for evening meals, always well cooked and hot. Occasional queues at busy times to get in restaurant, but never more than 2 minutes.

Daytime entertainment excellent for kids and adults, about 5/6 different activities each day. Evening entertainment started at 8.30 with mini disco - same songs every night, then bingo and show at 10 for an hour, then dancing. Entertainment team - Alvaro, George, Liz, Beya, Juan, Rosa and Fernando are excellent, really friendly and great with kids.

Bar prices are cheap in hotel! E2.40 for a pint, E1.25 for a coke.

Hill isn't too bad. Plenty of small bars around serving food. Beach a 5 min walk downhill and steps.

Would recommend for families with all ages kids, but not for couples only.

Well the first impressions about the hotel was " it seems like a nice hotel" food very nice, didnt make any thing to the entetainment, not fo people in there 20'smore like 60's. they was also doing building work which I didn't like, other than that it was ok.

Was fully satisfied with the hotel - on arrival reception staff were extremely friendly & helpful. The food was very good on the whole with good selection of dishes - plenty of fresh fruit at breakfast & evening meal - soups were excellent. Ideally located short walk to promenade/beach and short walk to cable car/Tivoli World etc - the walk back up the hill on the way back was sometimes a killer.

Found all the staff very friendly and more than helpful - the entertainment staff were brilliant. I am a single parent and travelled with a 5 year old and we had a super time - 3 swimming pools & games a couple of times a day for both adults & kids - will definitely go back.

The hotel was ideally situated. I visited with my mum who is 73 and we did not find the short hill an impediment.

The hotel offered great value for money and the meals were superb. Next to the hotel is Murphy's Bar where we had a great welcome, it was St Patrick's night while we were there, and their friendliness was boundless.

We would definitely go to this resort again.

This hotel is now 3 star, room furniture was adequate, rooms appeared shabby - but clean, rooms freshly painted [but over damp bits], they are obviously trying to make the rooms and hotel better. rooms clean, towels changed every day,staff friendly but not creepy.

Food good [especially for those with a sweet tooth.

Cardiac hill...rubbish only a small hill!! I would go back again,this is a good basic hotel. Visit Bar-non....out of hotel...turn right..bottom at lights turn left lunch time food excellent.
