If you are ever going to stay at this hotel make sure you are fit and very healthy and don't have any breathing problems were you need to use inhalers, the road from the front up to the hotel should be named as Coronary Hill as this hill could lead and cause a person to have a heart attack, the side of the hotel where we where it was always in the shade, and another thing is advisable to bring earplugs because you find when people come in late they can be a bit nosy taking no thought for people trying to sleep, and people argueing during that time of the morning....

Benlamedena is a dump.
There is nothing to do, the beach is dirty and full of litter. The sea didn't look particularly inviting either.
Everywhere buildings are closed down, graffiti everywhere, the only saving grace was a 20 minute walk into Torremolinos and the harbour area where there is an array of restauants and bars. Lovely.
There were a few shops/restaurants along the prom which were cheap and nasty. Not worth a visit.
A busy dual carriage way runs along the centre of Benlamedena which is a bit of a nightmare to cross and I wouldn't fancy trying crossing it with children.
At night, my fiance and I didn't feel 100% safe when walking home along the street - can't explain why, we just didn't. I almost got run over by a guy on a quad bike too - he mounted the pavement as he was going to fast. Didn't even apologise just carried on.
Not a resort for young couples.

Benalmadena is a nice resort with plenty to keep all ages occupied, lovely promenade for walks, plenty of bars, good beaches, paloma park, the marina, tivoli world, cable cars, mountains, great weather, what more could you ask for (shame about the busy dual carriageway road though).

Benalmadena is clean and tidy.
Entertainment is great if you go the right places like (Buzbys and Pickwicks were our favourites) and every afternoon was the potters on the seafront I am from stoke originally, and the staff and owners are really nice and friendly as well as the meals being excellent.

The resort is very clean and the beach is well looked after (there were even mattresses for the sun loungers). Not too sure about the entertainment as a lot of it seemed to be aimed towards older people but that may have had something to do with the time of year that we visited. There are a couple of disco bars in the Marina but the prices are a bit steep. Paloma Park is well worth a visit as there are quite a few animals to see (& it's free).

Benalmadena is a nice place to stay it's only drawback is being accosted by time-share touts or whatever it is they call themselves now.

The resort was very clean with road-sweepers very evident in most areas throughout the day and there appeared to be quite a bit of entertainment spread around the resort.
Whilst we were there they were re-building the beach in places with sand ferried in by lorries but the sand was more like the grey sand of Tenerife than the golden sand that I would have preferred.
I would definately visit Benalmadena again as we really enjoyed our 2 weeks there.

Cleanliness of the resort could be better,it's not dirty but it's just the litter that doesn't seem to be removed from the streets. We had a walk along the front and there's loads of great bars.
On your way down "Cardiac Hill" there is a few bars about three quarters of the way down on your left, down a side street. We tried FAGINS BAR there, not only was it 1 euro for a pint of lager,(yes cheap but very strong 5.4%)
but the service was great, run by english people,Yvonne & Doug, who were very friendly and they also do food.If you go there be sure to give it a try.
The beach was very clean, you can hire 2 sun loungers and a parasol for 8 euros for the day.If we decided to go for a walk we just left towels on the loungers and returned later, that way you don't pay twice.Would definately visit this resort again.

The resort is nice and clean with plenty of bars and resturants try and go to Buzby's if you can and see Colin Cambell the transvestite comedian he's hillarious, think he's on Thursdays and Sundays, the beach was a little stoney in some parts but we didnt need the beach we stayed round the pool, food is so cheap to and you get lots of it.
If you like clothes shopping get a bus to Fuengirola its only 1.20 euro and there you will find a massive zara its much cheaper than here and they have some lovely bits in there.
