After reading some poor reports on the Gardenia Park we were a bit worried but we really enjoyed our stay.

The hotel was exceptionally clean with frequent bed and towel changes. The location is very good you can walk into Fuengirola or catch the bus for only 90c which stops outside the hotel.

The train is a bit further away but very useful to go to Malaga 1.90 E and took fifty Min's, where we had a lovely day.

The food in the hotel was very good with plenty of choice and put a recent visit to a Turkish 5 * to shame. The drinks were very good four drinks per person between 10am-12 midnight.

For the smokers there is no smoking in the main lounge but there is a large smoke room off it so you can slip out. Sometimes it was busier than the main lounge.

The staff were very good and were very helpful if you needed anything. There were two nationalities of guests, Spanish and British and the Spanish people were nice to everyone.

Evening entertainment was a mini disco, quiz and bingo every night and then a show or live music.

We went to Gibraltar for the day it cost E42. You can get it for E26 but then you have to pay extra for sightseeing, apes etc. It works out the same.

We had the added bonus of stopping in Puerto Banus for an hour on the way back.

The hotel was right on the beach through the back gate which is open 6am-8pm this gate led to a lovely long prom with some bars close by and various restaurants and you walk along.

We would certainly return to this hotel, we loved it.

A nice hotel in a lovely quiet part of the Costa, right next to the beach. But a word of warning. Beware of theives! We had a bag which contained all our cash, credit and bank cards stolen from under our feet at the hotel buffet, and the dining room was not even busy at the time. This left us tied to the hotel, as we had to cancel our cards, and we had little cash left. We thereafter took advantage of the all-inclusive deal.

Eighties fashions may seem hideous now, but one item would have helped us. Bring back the day-glo bumbag! At least you knew where your money was when you wore it.

The Gardenia Park is situated a fifteen minute walk from Fuengirola in Torreblanca, which has its own train station.

The hotel was very clean and the restaurant whilst always full always had enough room even if we had to sit at two tables rather than one. As someone who doesn't eat chips I was always able to find something to enjoy. Outside of meal times snacks such as toasties burgers etc were available.

The indoor pool is very small and clean, ok for children. Views from all rooms are amazing, we were on the ninth floor having booked 2 3 bedded rooms - we were given a two bedded room for four ( brilliant for the kids) and my husband and I had a triple room next door. (920+921) Lifts could be slow but this seemed to be through holidaymakers sending them back for friends.

We didn't really take part in the entertainment although kids enjoyed a reptile show and a parrot show.

Arriving Christmas Eve, the Christmas Day Gala Buffet was excellent - turkey beef etc, cava, cakes & traditional Spanish Sweets.

Gardens are well kept and would be good to lie in in Summer.

Went to both Gibraltar & on African Experience - would recommend to all.

The Gardenia Parkhotel in general was excellent, giving us all very nice food every time, the hotel staff were very friendly and always ready to give advice and help.

No delly belly at all, makes a change, the swimming pool was cleaned daily to a very high standard as were the rooms.

Absolutely faultless, the entertainment was much better than we ever thought it might have been, very professional all round good fun, never getting fed up or tired.

The hotel in our opinion was located in exactly the right spot, not too far away from the main town and giving us a quiet night sleep. No mopeds going round and round all night.

Gardenia park hotel - what a fantastic hotel and location.

We first visited the Gardenia hotel back in 2006, our first time to have an all inclusive holiday, and we were not disappointed, the beach and main promenade is sited in a good location, only a two minute walk from the hotel.

There are plenty of sun lounges, tables and chairs around the pool side, and around every twenty minutes the staff employed at the hotel are clearing away empty drink cups and ashtrays. The pool is cleaned everyday, the hotel rooms were cleaned every couple of days.

Food and drinks that were served were excellent. English breakfast is served everyday and a very good variety of meals for lunch and evening meals, we also tried the local cuisine which was excellent. The drinks bar opens at 10. am till midnight.

As for the entertainment it is pretty good, there are children's and adult games throughout the day with the staff and prizes given out during the night entertainment.

Overall we have already booked to go back to the hotel this year only this time for two weeks.

I would recommend this hotel to all parties, you will not be disappointed

I loved this hotel. I only returned from my holiday in the early hours of Monday 21st august. I was staying in room 119 which was cleaned daily.

The food wasn't that good it was different every night which still made it hard to tell what you liked and the only good thing was the chips because it was the only proper British thing on the menu and it was on my plate every night. Alot of people were in the hotel such as Scottish, Irish, welsh, jordy ,scoucer and all sorts.

My youngest son made millions of friends as she joined in on the kids games with the reps and played footie by the pool at night but then would stop as the security guard would pass. I do ask that if you have children that you don't let them swing on the monkey bars in the park without an adult because a girl broke her arm and ankle on it they are very slippery. My other son how ever didn't make as many friends or any don't think. He did sort of have words with a boy called Thomas and his younger brother Connor and when he did talk to them it was funny. There is a computer in the reception in the far corner but you are usually left waiting for people in front there is usually about 2 or 3 people waiting when ever I went on but the best time is about 6ish because nobody is every on.

The entertainment was so hilarious. It was mainly the reps that did the entertaining there are Dela, Billie, Carena, Mickey and Leanne and there was another Spanish 1 called vedo but was an entertainer working for the hotel and didn't join in on the reps night entertainment. The night route was like this, Mini disco at 8pm, quiz and certificate ceremony at 9pm and then at 9:30pm bingo would begin. The jackpot would probably be 250euros for a full house and 50euros for a line and its 2euro a ticket. My family would play most nights and we were always at least 2 numbers away from the big bucks.

I hope you go there and believe me its really good.

Rooms very basic but clean, clean towels daily.
Pool was quite small for the number of guests also beware if you have small children as the babypool is right next to the big pool and not much of a gap between the two of them. Lots of areas to lounge but it was peak season so had to be up early to get a lounger. Lifts are a joke.

Staff were miserable and couldnt speak hardly any english.

Food was lovely. The only thing that let it down was that you arent allowed to take any food at all out the dining hall even the snacks.

There were loads of Spanish families which we found to be very rude and no manners. i'd say there was 50% Spanish.

Location was across the road from Los Boliches beach and was lovely, about a 40 min walk to centre of Fuengerola, 6euros in a taxi.

Although we had two Teenagers, were not prudish in the least but we found that a lot of the parents hardly seen there kids, they were too busy drinking/sunbathing whilst there kids were running riot.

Courtesy room was disgusting, it consisted of a shower toilet and sink, no air condition or window and there were dirty soiled nappies on the floor and used towels. It was minging. I complained to Reception but they couldnt understand a word i was saying, so it was a waste of time.

Entertainment was dire! but the under 8's seem to enjoy it. After speaking to other guests there some who have been to this hotel before say it is going downhill.

Taxi from Malaga to Gardenia Park was 71 euros and we used Transfersdelsol.com, who we would highly recommend they are a British Family run business.

We have just returned from our holiday at the Gardenia Park Hotel. Was slightly disappointed in the size of the room but had good sea and pool view with table and chairs. Room very clean but basic. Clean towels every other day, one day our room was not cleaned or beds made and when we complained to Reception, the Receptionist said we had to put the door hanger on when we wanted it cleaned but she would get the room cleaned (it was about 5pm) came back later and the room still wasnt cleaned. We hired a safe and glad we did as we were later aware of 3 breakins to other rooms where items where stolen and one atempted breakin.

The pool was small for the amount of people that was there, and the tiles round the pool became very slippery and quite a few children and some adults fell over. The pool area was noisy with children running riot whilst their parents was either sunbathing or drinking. But you could get away from this by staying in the pretty garden areas. You always had to be up early to put your towel on the sunbeds, which became a tie.....but if you didn;t then there would be no where it sit. Both pools was cleaned daily very throughly.

The Restaurant was very clean and the food was very good. No spainish tummy for any of us. Plenty to eat, only trouble is that you put weight on!
Snacks available at certain times but not allowed near or around the pool, but could quite understand this as some people did not put their drink cups in the bins provided and became a mess at the end of the day.

The Bar served children and adults, our children was pleased with the milkshakes, and the fruit cocktails was nice. The drinks are not watered down at all.

Children's playarea was small but enough for the under 10's and the games room had one snooker table and 5 computer games in. There was also a snooker table outside.

The Victoria Lounge was big and air conditioned. Some parents let their children reserve seats and was very rude when you tried to sit near the front where they were reserving seats of up to 15 at a time every night!
Our children enjoyed the mini disco which is held every night at 8pm, but then again ours is under 8.
Can't fault the Entertainment crew, they are very hard working and very friendly. Multi talented and very good at their jobs. Special thanks to Billy and Corrina who had us in stitches every night. Entertainment started at 10am until 11pm every day so you never got bored and was quite entertaining and fun.
Bingo is 2 euros per cards and gets very competetive. We stayed for 2 weeks and there was a different show every night, which was suprisingly good.

The beach is reached through the gardens - 8 euros for 2 sunbeds and one parasol for the day and the sun beds are very comfortable. Sand gets very hot by mid-day so beware!

Recommend the market on a Tuesday which can be reached either by foot (30 minute walk) or 90cents on the 120 bus which stops right outside. Alot of things are cheaper, we bought a spanish dress for 14 euros and the same one along the beach front was 42.50 euros, and haggle the price every time, take water with you as it gets very hot and humid.

We visit Gibraltar through our rep, some say its cheaper doing it yourself but its easier via the rep and you only save around 10 euros. We did a Rock Trip where you go to the Caves and then the Apes before being left for 2-3 hours to shop. 1 litre of Brandy for

When me and my family went to Gardinia Park hotel we had a very good time and the entertianment was very good for both the children and the adults.

The food was ok and all the barstaff were all friendly people. All the young children had a good time and they won alot of certificates and the way the prize giving went the children felt great. When the audience clapped and cheered for them , thanks a lot to Corrina, Della, Billy Leanne, Mikey and fido ,the water polo was a laugh: hope to see you all soon. From all the Irish.
