All rooms face the pool or castle. Restaurants along the beach front are all very good and in the hotel if its just chips, burgers and pizza you want.
Whole cooked chicken from the skate park cafe was very nice to.

Ask for high floor, the view is fabulous.
Try La Tasca Andaluza restaurant; intimate, typically Spanish. Excellent menu of the day 8.50 euros; lots of choice, generous portions + complementary olives, bread and liqueur. Ying Ping also very good and reasonable.

Fuengirola is a fine resort with something for everybody

Our visit was at the beginning of the season and we could find no fault with Fuengirola we have visited before and our friends were there for the first time and would love to go again.
Fuengirola is very central on the Costa del Sol which makes visiting other places relatively easy.

There is also a really nice beach turn right out of the hotel and walk 10 mins down the road and there are steps down (it takes 15 mins to walk back, its uphill!)

Very good beach and very quiet at the time we visited.
Something for everyone in the town. Massive choise of restuarants. Recommend Moochers for good food and great atmosphere.A visit to the Zoo is a must.

I found Fuengirola to be a really well maintained and clean resort.
With a young family we didn't tend to be looking for night life so can't really comment. What I would mention is the buskers who will attempt to "entertain" you while having a meal or a drink. It was a novelty the first time but after the seventh or eighth time becomes quite annoying, especially as they will approach you looking for money. Either ignore them, say no or dump your one and two cent coins on them.
The beach was fantastic. It was one of the cleanest I have been on and was never crowded. However I was there in April, may be busier in high season. There was also a couple of play parks on the beach to keep the kids ammused.
Food was good with a great selection of bars and restaurants. For breakfasts we headed towards the marina and for dinners Fish Alley. Plenty of choice.

Lots of bars and quite a lot to do. There is quite a lot of building work going on though. Lots of choice of places to eat and lots of looky looky men to talk to if you're lonely!

We stayed in Ronda apartments in Los Boliches, just 5 mins in taxi from Fuingorola. I had stayed in Torremolinos last time I visited the Costa Del Sol and went out for the evenings in Benalmadena, but on our first night we venturd to the bars of Fuingorola.
We found this very dissapointing as a young couple, it was nothing compared to Benalamdena's nightife as you have the Marina and 24 sqare there, both which are fantastic. Being not to far we had the best of both worlds, we would eat in the restaurents in Los Boloches ie. Captains table is lovely and the Indian restaurent on the beach front are a must!! then we would go out in Benalmadena.
This was very expensive for a return taxi so one day we got the train not realising that Benalmadena costa is different to Benalmadena pueblo. The costa is the holiday part and the pueblo is the residential area.........it took about 2 hours for us to find our way to the 24hr sq, so dont get the train, stick to a taxi or bus if you can work out the timetables.
The beach in Los Boloches is my favourite, quiet, very clean with beutifull views across the sea. I would go back to Los boloches but not Fuingorola as the evening entertainment was not excellent although it may be better in the height of the season. Have a great time x

Fuengirola is a bit of a strange place. Parts look like the Bronx with the train line running down the middle on a flyover type affair. Others look like a normal Spanish town, with shops, cafes etc. It is not the place to go for peace and quiet that's for sure, but there is plenty to do, and if you choose your hotel carefully, can have a very good time here.
