Location
The staff are fantastic (many understand and speak English) nothing is to much trouble for them. I reported our squeaky balcony door, within 30 minutes it was sorted.
I can not praise this hotel enough, the only down side is, that some parents do not control there children and let them run wild.
The food is fantastic, chicken, fish, pork, beef, assorted veg, my only grumble was (being British) I like my gravy, which I found next to the last day, it is up by the chef that's doing the carvery and the sweets, there must have been 8 different ones every night, then there is fresh fruit and ice creams, what more could any one wish for.
There are machines in the foyer that sell crisps, chocolate, pop and ice cold water, (handy if you need a snack in between meals)
The hotel is not near the beach, it is on the beach, 10 paces from the door to the sand, 3 supermarkets with in a 2 minute walk.
The entertainment was very good most nights.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel and would recommend it to everybody. The location was perfect (right on the beach), the food fantastic, and the entertainment was great for all ages.
The pool area was very good with loads of sunbeds, a jacuzzi pool and also a small pool for the kiddies. Inside and outside of the hotel were always kept extremely clean.
All in all we had a great holiday, we will definately be returning to the Donaire in the future.

The hotel itself was very clean and had probably one of the best half board restaurants I have been in. Especially with at least 10 different desserts on offer.
The daytime entertainment consists of shooting, games and general fun, and the evening was the same with tribute acts and discos and lots to keep children entertained.
The beach is very clean and on your doorstep, handy little cove for kids to play in and catch fish/crabs.
Aquapolis waterpark down the road leaves alot to be desired especially if you have small children as youre not told about the 1 metre 20cms height restriction until you have paid your money to get in!

There was lots of entertainment for the children by both the Thomson reps and hotels own animation team(Jaqui,Nathan and Amy).
The hotel has a great location right on the beach, with a small selection of shops and bars nearby. A supermarket with friendly staff is just over the road, and the bus services to Salou and Port Aventura,g o regularly , just a short stroll from the hotel.
I will definately return. o
Or only disappointment was the evening bingo, it was played for prizes (caps , tshirts etc) in other places we have visited it has been cash bingo. That said ,for only 1 euro per ticketI think it was played mainly for fun and so that the children could enjoy it.

Our only complaints were that the children were not controlled playing around with the lifts.
The dining room was a nightmare with young children taking food trying it out and putting it back if they didnt like it.
Also a dress code should be in force many parents went to dining room for evening meal in beach wear.

The food was excellent for breakfast there were 5/6 cereals to choose from, continental breakfast cooked breakfast, toast and various other breads and jams honey etc tea coffee and juices if theres nothing you like there then what on earth do you eat!
Evening meals were great there was always salad and chips but the meat and fish dishes changed every night along with vegetables hot and cold pasta dishes, the desserts were fantastic plenty of choice along with fresh fruit or just ice cream. The worst part was seeing grown ups stood dipping there fingers in to try it and then put it back!
Evening entertainment isnt my thing but it varied every night and the kids and alot of adults loved it the bar area was nice too and the pool area looked clean although we always went on the beach, a sun bed is 4 euros for the day and there were snack bars too.
We had a nice time although some young lads got the room next door to us on our last night and were really rowdy and very drunk security sorted it eventually and management were going to eject them, and Im glad to say there were not english.
I would definately stay in this hotel again however I wasnt struck on La Pineda too much had shut down already

There was plenty to do day and night. It was a lovely location right on the beach.
The food was lovely. There was plenty of choices for breakfast and evening meals.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone and i would go again. The rooms were cleaned every day.

Reception staff all nice, bar staff also and the waiters in the restaurant all happy to help and talk to you.
My biggest thanks must go to the team of thomson reps in the hotel the kids club was fab and the girls did a fab job you can see that unlike the hotel golden entertainers these girls really love their job there was only Lorna and Rachel left at the end but they still worked day in day out to keep me and my family and others more than welcome.
Thankyou to James the holiday rep hope you enjoyed your birthday. All in all a fab holiday with much thanks to sandy at the Mads Scotsman bar.

Been to this hotel before back in 2004, came back
Oct 2006 to see how things have got better or worse.
Rooms are fine very clean.
Food is ok for the first week if you are staying a bit longer you may want to go out to eat.
Hotel is kept very clean and staff are very friendly always there to answer any of your questions.
Pool area has new patio and bubbles pool.
You must like flies if you sit around the pool they will
get on your nerves so take some fly spray with you. You cannot adjust the sun beds they are fixed in the
flat position.
Entertainment is still very poor the lady in charge hates children, she shouted at mine the first day I was there, I reported her to the Thomson rep who made a written report out.
The hotel is still the best for value for money as it's right next to the beach and that's cleaned most nights
by a tractor with a rack on the back. One little down side on the beach you will get the the guys trying to sell you tat everyday also the massage lady asks you if you want a massage great but go down the beach on your own if you know what I mean. Also you will get the ladies who do your hair everyday I think they bead it, I'm nearly bald so they didn't bother me.
Thanks for reading and if you are going you will have a great time.
Regards Kevin.
