Having just returned from this hotel, I have been straight to the travel agents to book again for next year.

We had a view overlooking the beach and pool, every morning we watched people putting towels on the sun beds round the pool, me and my mum found it quite amusing, we would have a little bet on how many towels were put on the sun beds.

The maids could do better as twice they forgot to clean the bath and balcony but considering how many rooms they have to clean in the alloted time, over all they did pretty well.

The hotel staff were very good, they always took time to speak to you, they love it if you try to speak Spanish to them>

We like to go and watch the children's mini dico at night, the childrens rep, the tall female one that looks like briget nealson, what can I say, to me she seemed like she couldnt be bothered with the kids and thought to her self here we go again.

I would say the hotel is on the beach.

People say the hotel food is poor, I say you don't have to have a full cooked breakfast every day, you could have egg on toast, beans on toast, sausage sandwich, etc.

Overall this hotel is ideal if you are looking for a laid back lazy holiday.

We got back home from the Donaire park yesterday. We all enjoyed our holiday, especially the kids.

Our room was cleaned every day and considering the amount of sand (the hotel is directly on the beach) the maid did an excellent job.

The food was plentiful but my wife and I got upset tummies. The choice was good and the beer was cheaper than in the local bars.

As mentioned earlier the hotel is right on the beach and is right next to the bus stop for Salou, Portaventura and Barcelona.

Staff were hard working and pleasant.

Entertainment was a mixed bag. Some of the acts in the evening were very good. One and a half hours of bingo every night was a bit much for us,but alot of the brits seemed to enjoy it.

The pool area is too small for the size of the hotel,it is impossible to read a book or listen to a mp3 because at 11 am the hotel stereo starts playing the birdy song ,agadoo etc until 4 pm. Trying to relax is impossible so most people went to the beach.

Overall it is a good hotel but too noisey for us,if you enjoy bingo and loud music you will have a great time.

We've just returned from 2 weeks at this hotel and can highly recommend it. The hotel was very clean and the rooms were cleaned every day. Maids could always be spotted brishing floors, mopping, cleaning toilets etc.

The food was really good. There was lots of it and it was good quality. At peak times, they were bringing out fresh hot food every 10 minutes or so. I heard people complaining about the food, but I think this goes to show you can't please all the people all the time! They certainly did their best to cater for all tastes.

The hotel is located right on the beach, and is a really good location. The beach is excellent and very well maintained, so it was very nice to come out of the hotel and step onto a nice clean beach.

The staff in the hotel were really nice, particulalry in the restaurant. They all worked really hard adn were very friendly and pleasant, particulalry with the kids.

Didn't experience much of the entertainment, but I've rated it 4 because there was always some show on of an evening and they always looked quite interesting. We were travelling with a 3 year old who was done in by 9.30, so the show was a little late for us. Entertainment by the pool could be a bit annoying, but for peace and quiet, the beach was so close. The only thing I was disappointed in was the childrens play area. This was just a few bouncy things and they didn't appear very safe. Our 3 year old tried them out but wasn't too impressed. But if you walked down the beach towards La Pineda, then there were 2 play areas (with slides and climbing frames) which were a hit.

Overall, a really good value for money hotel with good standards all round. We'd defintely visit there again.

We would defintely visit this hotel

Well well well...what can I say bout this holiday...it was absolutely fantastic! We started coming to this hotel in on June 2004 and every ear since we have came back there.

The entertainment was really good and was varied for a variety of different ages with lots of different exciting shows every night such as the snake and acrobatics show which was brilliant and the Mr and Mrs Golden Donaire beach was funny. Every day there was kids clubs and different games 4 different ages which you could win different things and also there was water games like water polo and aqua gym and if you had children they would never be bored!! Also there is computers with internet access and a arcade with lots of different games. Every night was a bingo games and children

We returned to the Donaire Park once again.
Ditto on all the previous points last year, but a few exceptions:

The pool areas are much improved (although they were very good last year), now with a new bubbly Jacuzzi, canopies near the outside bar, and exterior heating on an evening, not that you would need it.

Food in the restaurant has deteriorated, very samey and seems now to be catered more for the raw fish and squid lovers, and those who like very undercooked and nearly raw meat dishes. We skipped breakfast and dinner several times as a result of this. Despite this we all experienced the tummy upsets, which we never experienced in our last 4 visits here.

See further below for an excellent alternative pub/diner!

The entertainment is probably great for 1st timers to this hotel, but almost an identical line up to previous years.

The main hotel entertainment host Maria is now gone (why spoil a good thing? Shame on you Mr Donaire Boss) and has been replaced by another lady, (a very opinionated and short fused Bridget Neilsen look-a-like).
We found her a major disappointment, showing very little interest in the children, except when she was busy shouting at them to move away from the stage area.
We initially assumed she was just either having a very bad 2 weeks or took a dislike to our kids, but upon speaking to other families, they found her attitude to their children just as offensive.
Maybe better suited elsewhere we think, in an 18-30s only hotel.

Aside from these points, the location and hotel standards remain the same.

Ideal for beach lovers, and assuming it's your 1st visit to the hotel, a decent all round package.

The hotel is very clean throughout. Rooms are a little small when fully occupied. We found that there was a good selection of food both for breakfast & in the evening. The hotel is ideally positioned on the beach with a good bus service outside to take you to Salou, Barcelona, Cambrillis etc. We went into Salou & got the train to Barcelona (well worth a visit)! The staff were friendly and the entertainment was very good although it went on until midnight so with young children it is difficult to get an early night.
Sunbeds - no chance of one most days as by 8.00 most had a towel on. Some people were saving beds in the sun & also in the shade!

Stayed at the Donaire Park for 2 weeks in August. Had a brilliant time! Hotel lovely and clean but our maid sometimes "forgot" to change the towels despite leaving on the floor!

Food very average and little choice for children but always something you could find so you wouldn't starve! the usual sunbed reserving around the pool with some people reserving several sunbeds in one go both in the shade and the sun and some people even getting annoyed if you stole their spot! Pools lovely and childrens pool very safe.

Location of hotel couldnt be better right on the beach. Ideal spot for those wanting to explore Costa Dorada and Barcelona as regular bus service. Hotel staff friendly and helpful and our reps were very friendly.

Entertainment the usual but hyper entertainment officer (fantastico!!!) not very child friendly and seemed to enjoy the time of the night when she could tell the kids "bye bye". Would return to this hotel definitely worth asking for a pool view overlooking entertainment although this will be noisy until midnight but at least you can sit on your balcony and watch if your children manage to get to sleep inside.

Overall thought hotel was good value for money and nothing to complain about. You get what you pay for!

The hotel was well presented.

The staff, for the most part, were friendly and helpful.

The food was what you expect, plentiful and a good variety.

The room we had was perfect for watching the entertainment, sat on our balcony sipping cocktails.

The location of the hotel could not be faulted, right on the beach.

The entertainment OFFICER was not fantastico with children.

You had to get up earlier as the holiday progressed to try and get a sunbed,as some people were towelling whole areas of the courtyard.

The resort is pleasant and easy to travel around from.

We would go there again as we had a brilliant time.

Having just returned from the Donaire, its location is perfect right on the beach, wonderful, we also had a room overlooking the pool and sea, views are superb,we stayed on the 8th floor and had an enormous balcony.

Never got to sit round the pool as there was never any sunbeds left even when i got up at 07;30, there were towels on every sunbed quite annoying.

I found the food fine there was always something to enjoy, and plenty of it. The hotel said air conditioning was in all rooms, however we took a fan along which was a god send as the air conditioning did hardly anything. Good idea to hire a safe.
