Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

the resort is very quiet, there are two local supermarkets which stock most items, if you are looking for a better deal the major supermarket in salou is right by the train station where you can buy all your items at a third of the cost. a walk into salou from the hotel is along the seafront, up the hill past some of the other hotels and a downward walk into the centre of salou.
the only entertainment in the resort is offered by the hotel which tends to start with a childrens mini disco at around 9pm followed by an entertainer at 10pm for an hour , after this the hotel settles down for a very quiet night of peace.there are two other areas from where music came from, up the road turn right into cap salou central, 10 minute walk into an area supported with amusements and a live outdoor band, will leave you to make up your own mind on this one.
the sandy beach is great, ideal for sandcastles, sunbathing and snorkeling in the crystal clear blue water, you even have fish swimming around your feet in ankle deep water. we found the water with a slow descent from the beach a very safe haven for the children. a very friendly beach cafe where the prices for ice cream and soft drinks cost around 2 euros each

I was a bit dubious about going to salou as I expected it to be a bit like benidorm, but was pleased as it was nothing like it. I have been to many places over the years and salou is by far my favourite so far. The beaches are beautiful, lovely clear water, no stones or pebbles just sand and you go out quite far before it gets deeper. Plenty of nice bars that have happy hours and it wasn`t expensive, loads of shops and nice restaurants. I loved it that much that I will be returning next year.

Excellent resorts, nightlife buzzing and the weather was brill also.
The airport is tiny-so make sure you take something with you-as there is nothing to do there.

This is a one trick pony. One street and that is it. Plebty of hassle as you walk past from people touting various bars and restuarants.
It is nice enough but not enough happening for a weeks stay let alone a fortnight. The saving grace is the bus system. Get yourself a travel card and save money travelling around. Example cost of 2 people traveling to the sunday market 12 euros 60 cents. Cost using the card 3 euros 60 cents. You can even travel to Tarragona with it.
The promenade hear is really smart and has a minin light/fountain show. Cambils fiurther along the coast is a nice wee place and worth a visit. The highlight for me was the trip to Tarragona. This is a lovely city with plenty of history and sopme fine sights.
Having been to the Costa Dorada I would not return

This hotel is between Cambrils and Salou and is quite a walk to either. However, there is a fabulous bus service with a stop just outside the hotel and it is very easy to travel around. The beaches are fabulous, lovely and clean and the two resort areas are also clean. We found it quite a pleasant walk going along the beach front to either area, but could imagine in the hot weather it could be difficult. The area is flat therefore easy to walk. Be prepared, the cost of living in Spain now is very high and eating and drinking out can be quite expensive even souvenirs have shot up in price.

I'd heard that Salou was dirty, and all I can say is that it must be the foreigners who make the mess because it was really clean when we were there. Salou is also popular with the Spanish themselves, which is nice.
I felt very safe in Salou. I saw Police Officers walking the beat and cars patrolling regularly.
What really got on my nerves was all the English men handing out leaftlets, following us down the streets trying to get us to go into the bars, and especially those who were offering Bingo!
Beaches were clean, bars were clean, everything was good. We loved Salou and we're planning on booking up to go for a fortnight next year as a week wasn't enough.

cambrils is lovely. A proper Spanish town, not many egg and chips type restaurants, which is why we will be returning.
Quite a few surf type shops with o neil and quicksilver. sit and have a drink and tapas in the heart of the shops and watch the world go by.
