Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort is a busy busy place with a good mix of locals, and shops so my wife tells me.
I think here there is something for everyone day and night.
You can try the water sports on the beach at a very good price and the high number of places to eat gives you very good value for money

Beautiful Sandy beaches, Plenty of entertainment, Lots to see and do. Port Adventura was fantastic with plenty of rides, plenty to eat places, although fast food is not heard of in Spain. Everyone so slow to serve. If you go to Port adventura you must stay till the midnight show of firework spectacular and light display, it is unmissable. Easy to get to by bus and the buses run after midnight coming back to salou. Never got a chance to visit Costa Caribe, or Aquapolis, but both are suppose to be very good.
Did visit Barcelona, but not with hotel. We took a train which took approx 1hr and works out very cheap. Beautiful City but you must take a tour bus to see it in every aspect.
Cap Salou is also very pretty, but quiet. Just a few bars and supermarkets. Nothing at all like Salou.
Salou is a very busy city with a ray of shops. However don't get caught up in the £1 looking cheap shops at the heart of salou. You must visit the begining of salou if you require better quality of goods.

We were delighted to find that a taxi was not necessary for transferring from Reus Airport, since there was a bus service (Plana) which operated a limited timetable to hotels in Salou for 4.95 € single per person (and slightly cheaper for a return ticket). Others were quoted 25 € for a taxi. The bus dropped us about 100 yards from the hotel which was uphill and round a corner in a street too awkward for a bus. An English-speaking Spanish gentleman led us off the bus and to the hotel and emphasised that the bus would also return from the same bus stop. We used the service on our return and were anxious as only one other family decided to, and the bus was about 30 minutes late, rather worrying when one has to check in at the airport rather soon. However, it got us there and only the driver and five passengers were on board! It should be better used and advertised.
The night life of Salou was truly amazing. At 1 or 2am, people were still out in their thousands and we never once encountered a drunken disturbance. It was a veritable, cosmopolitan, holiday atmosphere and we enjoy that, having chatted to people from Spain, Italy, Holland, Slovakia and France. Ironically, on our floor of the hotel, a group of French youths (not English!) went nutty, removing a fire extinguisher (without using it!), running amok along the corridor waking families with children, their having imbibed too much of the hard stuff and left for a night club. I don’t fancy their chances of having been allowed to stay in the hotel after that since the Police were to chat with them next day! This was an isolated incident and we saw not a hint of trouble in Salou.
We are a couple in our fifties (but Salou and this hotel is ideal for families) and we had a wonderful two weeks with excellent organised excursions to 1) Monserrat and the impressive Torres Winery, 2) The Ebro Delta with an included boat trip (rice growing wetland) and Peñiscola (Papa Luna’s castle with superb views and an up-market seaside resort), and 3) A Catamaran excursion by sea to a delightful cove, perfect for swimming, at Calafat. We also made trips of our own by bus to Reus with its ‘Ruta del Modernisme’, a trail of about 25 elegant architectural buildings supposed to have inspired Gaudà who was born there, and the large city of Tarragona with its marvellous Roman remains. Our only rain was a brief downpour whilst at Salou’s neighbour Cambrils. The rest of our time was taken up with glorious swimming and sunbathing at the main beaches and the many pretty coves not far up the coast from the hotel, arrived at on foot or by bus. The bus station is about halfway up the palm-lined esplanade, the Passeig MaritÃm, where there is a regular Plana Transports service.
One event will particular stand out in my memory! It was the celebration of the Feast of the Assumption with the mother of firework displays! The air was suffused with pinks, greens, ambers, reds and purples which silhouetted the tall palm trees and beset our ears with ear-splitting bangs and splutters while the sky was lit up with explosions followed immediately with every possible fiery texture and colour. The display seemed to go on for ages, though in choreographed movements, each of which began when one thought the show had finished. Thousands of euros must have been spent on the display but the effect was almost to create a religious experience for the beholder and left you gaping and ‘wowing’!
We also came to Salou in 1994 with our three children. They still remember that holiday as one of the best. It was even more enjoyable on this occasion with our new-found freedom!

Beaches were disgusting, the last day we found a lovely beach inbetween Salou and La Pineda.
Surrounding area had plenty of English bars with all the football fans to fill them.
Local people very ignorant and arrogant, they will knock you off the pavements before walking single file with there friends.

We didn,t go to the town centre much because we would rather all go to the theme park. When we did go to the Beachit was very crowded but the sand was great and the sea warm.

This was the first time I went peak, and the resort was still clean.
The entertainment in the resort suits all age groups it is A1.
The beach is superb, very clean.
I visit Salou every year. To me it is home from home and I would love to live there.

salou was absolutley lovely and i havnt got a bad word to say about it! there was plenty things to do and if you did need to go anywhere on a bus the bus drivers were always very helpful.
we did visit barcelona and were disapointed when we thought we had paid for a tour around the football stadium and only got to go into the museum.; especially when we found out the tour was only an extra four euros!! so if you book up for that day trip make sure you know excatly what your getting!
