Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The resort itself was very nice, well laid out with easy access to bus stops and the beach. We didn't actually go into any bars because we had young children with us but we walked past and the atmosphere was very relaxed and non threatening.
We visited nearby Salou on the bus which was very good value. The beach there is excellent with good facillities and the sun loungers were cheaper than Pineda.
We also visited Port Aventura and Costa Caribe (purchasing the 3 day passes) which allows you 2 days at Port Aventura and 1 day at Costa Caribe. It was very enjoyable but in hind sight we really only needed 2 days all together.

When walking around the resort there seemed to be piles of rubbish everywhere which in the heat did smell quite bad when walking past.
Be carefull on the crossings as the drivers did not tend to stop at the red lights.
There were many bars and pubs and plenty of shops.

The resort was a good choice for a family holiday, with plenty to do day and night. The beach and the nearby Port Aventura and Costa Caribe made the holiday more enjoyable. We would visit Salou again.

salou, nice tourist place, all usual suspects, brit pubs, lots restaurants, tat shops and main shops.great beach and sea, sunbed cost 11 euro under shade for 2.taxi ride to universal theme park varied from 5.5 euro to 9 euro at different times of day/night.universal is good but as spanish kids were on hols it was very busy, long ques, get there early and start at far side(china) and work towards gate(buy tickets in uk,for better deal),and arrange to return at midnignt for finally diplay, get a seat at entrance overlooking lake before 11-00 pm.two water parks reps say one they sell best, poss not, one in universal is better(costa caribe).if you want to shop in barcalona go by train (1/2 hour) not on a organised tour(not enough time).good go cart track near by see van on beach front.finally we were there at end of fiesta on sunday teriffic parade and firework display.

Salou is a bustling resort where we were warned on several occasions about pick pockets. There are lots of shops, pubs, clubs so appeals to lots of different aged people. As you walk around Salou there are various strong smells especially those of the bins!
The beach was sandy and lovely with plenty of things to do. The water looked clean and shallow with pontoons that you could swimm out to and jump off.
Getting around Salou was easy- taxis were fairly inexpensive for families, regular and could be ordered fron bars/ hotels and were well regulated.

It was a pity the resort wasnt as good as the accomadation we stayed in, Salou is looking a bit worse for wear, although not a unpleasant place it seems to be lacking any atmosphere or culture. Most of the bars and restaurants in the town were very quite. Spoke to one manager of English bar and he told me this was the quitest he had known Salou since he had been there, something to do with the Euro. The beach was clean but dont bother at weekends in August it gets packed.Port Aventura is a great day and night out and only 10 minutes walk from the Hotel. There isnt much else to do around the resort itself but there are some good bars in the town that provide good entertainment if you want a change from the Hotel and its cheaper to drink out. I think Salou needs a facelift some of the hotels look shabby and bring the whole area down, but if you are staying in the Dorada you are far enough away from it to concern you.I wouldnt rush back to Salou because once is enough, but well worth going if you have never been i think 1 week would be ideal. Beaware of the return journey was told there is nearly always delays and Rheus airport isnt aplace you want to be to long we had 4 hour delay and we didnt have any Euros left to by a drink or food!

It's not very safe as people drive on the pavement but there are many shops and bars, and there is even a red lion pub showing all the football!!! The beach at playa capellans is gorgeous although the locals tend to overcrowd it in mid afternoon.

Salou is a beautiful resort although initially because of fatigue and trying to familarise myself with the resort i didnt think so we kept to the left side of the marina which was a ten minute walk from our hotel but it took alot longer because of the many shops along the way. The sand on the beach was sandy and golden and the sea nearly every day was clear, except for the gold glitter in the sea which i am yet to research to find out why it is there. The gentleman that hires out the sun loungers and parasol was very helpful there is also a snack bar on the beach selling a variety of refreshments. Also there is a stand hiring out banana boat rides and jet skis. We tried the banana boat but as there were only three of us on there we came off straight away. The driver of the boat was not at all helpful, and got annoyed with us, through coming off the boat i was covered in bruises, so be careful. There are plenty of bars clubs, shops and restaurants in salou but the main part of the town will take you about half an hour to walk to although the scenery is very nice, a huge palm tree lined promenade with fountains all the way along it.

The beach and cafes are excellent but be warned arrive early as all the sun lounges go by 10.00am.
And they cost 6 euros each. Apart from that the resort is safe and clean.
