Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

Great long beach, very clean, lots of places to eat and drink, lots of shops etc.

We were in Cap Salou which is very quiet and there is not much to do especially for the children, apart from arcade games which cost us a fortune. Salou itself is about 45 mins walk away or about 15 mins on the bus. Salou is very busy and we did not like it, the beach was very crowded. We found Cambrils and La Pineda much nicer, better resturants and much better beaches.

This resort is buzzing with life nearly 24hrs a day, with plenty of bars shops and plenty of choices to eat out.The beach can be full but not uncomfortably and only adds to the enjoyment. We were in a very busy and noisy part of the the resort but ther seems to be quieter areas near by.The Portaventura theme park may seem expensive but is well worth a visit if a whole day is spent there. If visiting opt for the express passes which allowes you to skip the queues. We would consider visiting Salou again

Not enough bins scattered about on the streets and rubbish thrown around piles out side the industrial wheelie bins waiting to be collected. Foul smell due to excessive heat but generally tidy.
Plenty of bars open till late with kiddies entertainment and also a mini playground area for kids with a few fun fair rides.
Beach was fairly clean but due to the amount of people could see rubbish about. The one pet hate was walking around bare footed and stepping on hundreds of cigarette ends. Sea was fairly clean and deffinateley worth swimming in.
Yes I will be visiting the resort again in the future once my kids are a bit older so I can take them to the Universal theme park.

Resort lively - many English bars, and tons of Karaoke if you like that sort of thing! We liked Titanic for food. We thought beach was very clean - sun beds 4 euros each and sun canopy 5 euros. Plenty of small climbing frames dotted around for kids to play on. However, we all came back with dodgy throats and an ear infection after swimming in the sea and pool! Water park (Costa Caribe) quite small but quite fun. You have to pay for the rings (7 euros for each ring and you get 3 euros back at the end of the day). Universal quite good (not as good as USA) but queues very long and you have to pay extra 17 euros each for Express "gold"tickets which we did not know about. Your normal ticket to park only allows you one express ride per day. We went twice and found Saturday to be the least busy day. We liked the stampeda ride which was fast and enjoyed the wild west stunt show. We bought our tickets from Virgin online (14 days cheaper than 3 day), but found that we could have bought them much cheaper at resort. Some bars give vouchers for buy-one-get-one-free, and we also saw them for sale at 11 euros each! We also saw some bars offering them free when buying a certain drink! First two weeks in August very busy - Spanish take their holidays then. We took train from Salou to Barcelona which is an hour away and did the open top bus, which was good (not for kids though!). Locals appeared friendly and helpful (unlike Costa del Sol!)

Salou is a busy place, really lovely beach. Quaint old town area as well as modern touristy bit. Some nice Spanish bars and restaurants as well as usual British/Irish/German ones.
Would definately go again but would stay at the quiet end and taxi up to busy end.

the resort itself was a bit of a disappointment due to the fact that we were not aware of all the hills there ,the restraunts were very good value for money especially the smugglers which gave you such big portions of food that it was even more of a struggle going back up the hills also a place called mickey's just before the paddock does a wicked roast beef and chips be careful of the pavements because they are very slippery due to the dust because there is no rain, the buses are very frequent every 15 minutes we pre bought a three day pass for port aventura and caught a bus there which took you right up to the entrance we stayed there all day with the bus picking us up where they dropped us off, the buses run until 12.30 in the night the beaches were very clean and small with some very strong waves and again very steep hills to get to

Salou very dirty and covered in grafitti shops not trust worthy and do not speak very good english this is not a family resort as we found not a lot of places to take the children at night, on the whole not impressed with salou.

We stayed at the Palas Pineda in Pineda. The beach is lovely and only a few minutes from the hotel. We went in August and there was plenty of space of the beach. There are quite a few shops and bars. Highly recommended.
