Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

The beach at cap salou is ideal for kids as it is an enclosed cove. The beach is cleaned every night which is ideal. The only entertainment worth mentioning is the local tap house which is an english run bar with everything from bungee jumps to kids rides, and the best pint in cap salou.
It is a shame that they do not serve food as the rest of the bars are all very bland, and one even serves you your food in shorts!! Not very hygenic.

Salou itself is nice, although the weather was changeable! It only rained at night, which is fine and we did get the big storm! Although, contrary to what I have seen written elsewhere, you just have to smile through and get on with it! After all, who can control the weather??!! We just took it as a good laugh and by the following day it was dry again. There was more cloud in Salou than in other resorts we’ve been, but it was always warm and we came back with good tans!
Port Aventura – great day out. When we went it was open until midnight, so after breakfast in the hotel we spent the day there and then came back to the hotel for dinner and went back for the evening – even better – no queues!
Aquapolis Water Park – great day out as well. Things could do with a general spruce up but on the whole it was clean and good fun. They have a dolphin and sea-lion show which is also good.
Barcelona – lovely city, but if you take the tour (including the Magic Fountains) it is a bit rushed! We had a good time though. Also went back on the following day to see Barcelona play Seville at the Noucamp – highly recommended!!!
Bars – by far the best was the Robin Hood which was a great laugh. The karaoke there is run by Babs & Steve who are great, and now also good friends. Although we didn’t eat there, the food was great. Also a good karaoke was Jimmy’s, and the Victoria for a late drink and good laugh. Shenanigans the Irish bar was good for some live music when we went.
All in all, you get out of a holiday what you put in, we had a good time and would definitely go back.

We have been to Salou twice and think it is a great family resort

It was a clean and tidy resort,
There were loads of things going on the kids loved it,
The beach we went to was small and closed in, we still enjoyed it and stayed the whole day, my kids even wanted to go the next day,
I would go to this resort again.

We found the resort to be very very clean this was also the case with the beach.
We only rated the entertainment 3 because we didn't really go to the clubs but the entertainment is there if you want it.
The walk along the prom is very nice.
There is a variety of food so there is something to suit everyone which is good if you have a fussy eater.
We visited the theme park at Porta Venturer which is excellent if you or your children like rides a lot of hanging around if you don't which can be very stressful with bored children.(Also visited Disneyland Paris on this holiday but rate Porta Ventura far better).
Lots of shopping to do and the kids loved all the souvenier shops but just remember to try a little bartering you will find generally that you can get most shopkeepers to reduce their prices.
All in all would recommend Salou to anyone.

Cap Salou is in a good location, within easy walking distance to Salou town and La Pineda (where there is a very good water park).
It's also only a short journey by bus or land train to Port Aventura, which is brilliant.
Having said that, it was close enough for us to walk back both times we went there.

I stayed in Salou itself.
The beach is extremely clean with lovely beach bars. There is plenty of entertainment in the Salou resort, it's very clean and I would definitely recommend it to anyone considering going.
The nightlife is great for all ages, there's a little bit of something for everyone including the people that love karaoke!!!

The hotel was always clean and tidy, the staff all very helpful.
Entertainment was good, very entertaining.
The beach, on the other hand was only about 4 minutes walk away, but it was littered with cigarettes, smoked mainly by tourist, what we could see.

Salou is a lovely resort with lots of clubs and entertainment. The only thing that reminded me of home were all the cheap goods shops and stalls that you would usually find on the front at Blackpool. Be careful of all the people that try and sell you jewellery in the streets because as soon as the police go past they run off pretty quickly so im guessing its not all above board!
Universal mediterranea was good although not as brillaint as i was told it would be. Park is large and if you have little ones they might get tired walking round it. They wouldnt let my little boy go on the horses because he had no shoes on, what they thought he could do i dont know!!! In my opinion its not catered for small children, its not worth the money you pay. Costa Caribe was excellent and could not fault it although do bring some money as you need to pay for lockers aswell as inflatables if you want your own one.
Otherwise resort is very lovely and i would visit again
