Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

the resort it self was not to bad apart being away from main resort you need to get a bus every time you want to go out.

The resort had its fair share of un-emptied bins which sometimes smelt. There was loads to do - reccomend Port Aventura and costa carribe a 3 consecutive day pass one day at costa carribe (waterpark) and 2 days at port aventura is the best deal at 60 euros. There are pleanty of restaurants, bars, shops and arcades. Beaches were brilliant. I wouldnt visit salou again as it was too tacky.

Salou is full of craines and half built buildings. Along the beach front there are nice fountains and a long promanarde but further back the pavements are full of cracked tiles and trees in the middle of pavements. The theme park is very good. It is best to go here in the evening as we did not have to que for very long to get on the rides. The water park is also excellent and seemed very safe for children, we enjoyed our day here but be warned - you have to pay for sunbeds and inflaited tyres to go on some of the rides. We also went to the go-carting circuit -dont bother it was a rip off. The best excursion at this resort is the JEEP SAFARI we had an excellent day out, well worth the money, you will get very dirty from the off road tracks but you finish the trip with a swim in a glorious lake. Dont bother going on the "finding Nemo" boat trip, all it was was a glorified boat trip across the bay of salou, not worth the money at all (and no mention of nemo).

we found the resort cleanliness to be good for the size of the resort, they even employe people to brush up the leafs on the roads.
entertainment:aquapolis this was brill, the dolphin/sea lion show was fantastic, port advantura is really good too,
also take a trip into barcelona this city is a real eye opener.
beach standard: we found the beach to be clean, plenty of bins around, it was busy but you make the most of it no problem.
it would be a very long time before we went back to this resort, we are not ones to go back to the same resorts over and over again we like to see other resorts/countries and with the experience we have had in all the years of going abroad this is a first and it is not very nice.

We did not think much of Salou very rough at night and there is rubbish and graffiti everywhere and a word of warning DO NOT go near Flasback you will be told in no uncertain terms that it is for the Spanish. The Hole in the Wall served a very good pint of Guiness (so my boyfriend says) and it is a very good place to start of your night. The food in the Black Beauty is fantastic and really really good value. Portaventura was excellent and definitely worth a few visits although it is a good idea to but your tickets at home. Barcelona was very good although bus trip there was hell would recommend getting the train. Danny Boy was fantastic they had really good Tina Turner, Neil Diamond and Elvis nights they were such a laugh and really good atmosphere. Overall we didnt think much of Salou although the beach was good and you always found a sunbed. We found it was the daytrips e.g costa caribe, Barcelona that were available that made the holiday rather than the resort. Although a holiday is what you make of it and we certainly did our best to have a great time but would'nt go back.

salou is a great place for families universal studios are brill so is costa caribe the tour of noucamp isnt good a waste of 49 euros(adults) 37 euros(kids)

Very clean and a nice relaxed atmosphere - very flat for wheelchairs and buggy's along the front but hilly on one side of resort. Busy but not in your face "come to this bar or restaurant" !
Lots of cranes on view on outskirts of town but didn't spoil it.
All in all would go again.

The cleanliness of the resort could not really be faulted. The streets are clean although beware the walkways, they can be very slippery when wet. The beach is cleaned every night and cleaners patrol the area through the day and evening.
The main downside for those who do not like it, there is a lot of shingle at the waterline and due to the light surf, this is churned up as the waves roll in. Beware with little people, the sea floor can dip away sharply, a drop of 12" in one step is not uncommon
Entertainment in the town is virtually nil, there was very little to do in the evenings.

The resort itself has gone downhill from the last time we were here.
The entertainment was great Kiss bar is definitely a must as the staff there were great with the kids.
The beach was great clean kids loved the beach.
Port Aventura a must had great days out.

The resort itself was very clean however we found tthat the beach was not nearly as clean as the rest of the resort. The beach offered many activities such as banana boats, jet skiing and pedal boats all at a reasonable rate.
