Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

We stayed in room 438 good view over the pool the pictures I have included you will see walk in shower no grip handles and shower mat on the base of the shower and this was provided by the holiday rep
Email the hotel your requests as they are very good with contacting you back and catering for your needs

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

We had visited Salou beach in September this year, my son enjoyed every minute of it, was probably the only beach where you wouldnt get wasps attacking you all the time as other beaches nearer to the Cap.

First time we;ve visited costa dorada, salou. smell of rubbish everywere. streets are fithy.. all the comments i read said it woz a clean area, when they discrided it they must have been out of season or the king of spain woz visiting .. we flew back this morning and i can tell you it ant! 10/07/ 07.
the area our hotel at the top of salou all we could smell woz raw sewage,
Beaches were a big plus. real safe for young kids.. thats were we stayed most of the weeks.
Thousonds of shops selling all the same stuff...fake football shirts...there are some good stuff there.. but youve got to look carefully.
Barcelona is a must .. great place to go . tarragona not far is a must .. you will notice every other resort is cleaner than salou . so .. go back and visit your travel agent and change you resort choice .. QUICK!

Salou it self has changed since we were here the last time in 2001 i must be honest Salou has a bit let it self go were the hotel is down the street there is 3 clubs all across from each other on a friday and Saturday you can not move it is so busy the spanish put trees on the pavement so there are big holes everywhere a bit hard trying to get by the spanish as they do not move for you even if you have children. The clubs give out leaflets and buy morning they are everywhere on the pavement at the bank one theses were laying from friday night through to Sunday and had not been cleaned up it is still clean but has changed from the last time we were there. All the restaurants were all clean and made brilliant food. If you go self catering be prepared to spend a lot of money at the supermarkets as they are expensive. The beach is fantastic and is above standard they clean it Evey night but sometimes in the street the bins would be over filled and would lay on the pavement and the bins were some times over filled and not empty.

Very busy and the beach is too overcrowded. Loads of nightlife though.

This has everything a resort has to offer good food, liveliness, good bars quiet areas, lovely beaches and good transport links to various places near and afar.
Barcelona zoo is a must and the Monseeat monastery is out of this world and worth a trip from Salou.
Has a downside of being dirty and alot of Bar touts pestering you for a drink in their bars when out for a stroll.
One no go place is THE HOUSE OF ILLUSIONS SHOW what a complete rip off cost 50euros for 2 tickets with free drinks all night and all we got was 2 shandy's and a completely crap unmagical show with a so called singer who sounded like a karaoke singer and a magician who did 2 tricks in 35 minutes and talked rubbish the rest.

Salou itself was very busy, unfortunately lots of litter lying around mostly from the street vendors encouraging you to visit their pubs, clubs, etc. Although we did see workers trying to keep the area clean. The beaches were very busy also but were clean. There were plenty pubs, clubs, restaurants and shops so there is plenty to do. We would visit Salou again in the future.

salou is excellent for families the beach is one of the best i have ever been on as it slopes gently out for quite a distance.there are plenty of places to eat and our kids loved the little shops around as they could get bargains for as little as a euro,a very good resort.
