Not a 4star and dated, and some staff members rude , we book this hotel on its ratings , but it about a 3star

Request a room that is facing away from the pool area if you want quiet at night. The rooms facing out have great views and are also very quiet at night even though there is live entertainment going on.

They have water stations dotted around the hotel, which is a great idea. You buy a recyclable bottle for €4 and you can fill it as many times as you like! Saves on buying lots of plastic bottles from supermarkets etc. Eco Friendly ?

Pool view rooms are good, if you want to watch the entertainment from your room. The entertainment is over by 11pm so no problem with noise, unless you go to bed early. Calypso 1 is the block with the restaurant, bars, etc. so I thought it the best choice

I love Salou, I did when I first visited and am currently planning next summer's visit.
The beach is one of the best I've seen and the night life is amazing, with a particular mention to "The Little Hampton" pub, run by a bloke from Leeds. The staff are friendly as well as efficient, giving you service with a smile... not something we saw a lot of during our stay.
Should you get the chance, go to the House Of Illusion. It is mind blowing... I'll say no more else I'll be raving on about it... and make sure you get there as early as you can to catch tickets... it's a complete sell out!
Of course you have your sightseeing and tourist attractions, markets all within reach of the local bus. You can very easily get to bonavista, cambrills and all those other places, just for that little bit of variety during the day (and walking's the best way to tan)
That's all I have to say... enjoy Salou!

We found the general cleanliness of the streets poor, however the beach was lovely! One bar much the same as the next, not our thing, but did appeal to most. If you are thinking of buying your football teams' top, then wait until you get there, as there are plenty of shops selling them.!
We won't visit Salou in the near future.

Salou has more than its fair share of Brit bars etc and if that is what you want , great. I would have preferred a more Spanish feel to the shops , bars etc, funny enough most of the tourists are Spanish which really surprised me. Beaches are fabulous , both the main beach and the little side beaches/coves. Felt safe and would come here again, largely due to the great time we had at hotel. For the culture vultures there are Tarragona and Barcelona within easy reach and cheap to get to.

Last year we were disappointed with the cleanliness of some parts of Salou, this year we found it very clean and tidy.
Entertainment was available for all types if you can't find it here you weren't looking. Rose & Crown great for kids with movies during the day and quiz/ Bingo at night plus great conversation. Disappointed with the apparent new "sport" of telephone box smashing! We spotted at least 3 on the C/Mayor, 1 outside our hotel.

the beach was lovely and clean but if you dont mind feeling like you are in a tin of sardines( it gets very very busy) & paying 14 euros for 2 sunbeds and a parasol then thats fine.
the resort itself we found extremely boring unless you like waterparks and rides at portaventura, we spoke to lots of people who had kids and once they had done the themepark their kids were bored.

Beach great, clean and safe, pubs are family friendly.
Port Aventura is well worth a visit (buy your tickets in the uk form a website you often get 7 or 14 days for the price of 3) and its cheaper than buying tickets off the Reps or at the Gate.

Because the resort is so busy obviously there would be som e litter but of course if people disposed of their litter properly, well. The beach is spotless and is cleaned nightly. Most of the hotels run nightly entertainment so you dont have to stay at your own complex. Roll on this August'!
