Beaches

The resort was very clean with beautiful gardens. The entertainment wasn't our thing and we did other things instead. We concerned before going after reading negative commens on various holiday sites. We had none of the problems these other people seem to encounter. I think it depends on your outlook and attitude. We would certainly go back. Also the rep (Peter) was excellent.

The beach was fantastic. The resort was very limited with cheap tacky shops.

first time in hammemet yasmine,it should be very nice when it is finally finished.the weather was not too good while i was there,so not much chance to get onthe beach, because it was not high season it was a little on the quite side. the madina was very nice,it cost 1 dinar to get in but ther are plenty of shops bars and cafes there. the boys with the shops are not too pushy at all,i think they just like to have a laugh and talk to the english, if they do come on bit hard a [la shukran ] no thank you, stops them. the taxi drivers where ok just point at meter before you set off. the marine was very nice indeed with plenty of good eating places, and quite reasonable.drinkers offy at bravo supermarket, next to the icerink beer and wine much chaeper than the hotel, and a better choice

Very disappointed with Hammamet still trying to find out where the magnificent promenade that the brochures show actually is., The madina was not impressive as the one in Sousse and the people were very very pushy, which was why we had to accompany a lot of single females fro our hotel who wished to visit the Bazaar. This is our 10th visit to Tunisia and we prefer further south, although not everybody will agree with us
The only bright light in Hammamet was the support we had from Thomsons i.e. Sandra Munroe, area manager for Tunisia.
Marina the resort manager and our Rep Matt, thank goodness for his sense of humour, very entertaining young man..

Entertainment at the hotel would make you fall asleep, as do sitting in the reception area, so we went out walking every night to the small cafe`s and bars.
Nice bar at the marina called the Piano bar, a little expensive but worth the change.
I will go back to Tunisia again, it is ideal for a winter break as the weather was stunning. but I will try a different resort.

Hammamet very run down and dirty no where to go for a walk Not impressed at all. Had been to Tunisia before so knew what to expect but the whole area was well below any sort of standard I would have expected.

The hotel was very very clean, one of the staff told us the whole complex was to be refurbished for 2007 , mind you its ok at present.
The entertainment was failing slightly but in March its what we would expect, it didn't detract from our enjoyment One little point worth mentioning we arrived 18/3/06 the 19th was independance day 20th was youth day the hotel and resort were very crowded with locals over the weekend , but it makes a change from our friends the Germans.

A bit untidy with half-built houses/hotels nearby and rubbish blowing around.
Not much to do outside the hotel unless you want to endure the local disco just round the corner - non stop belting music until 4am!
Beach went on for miles, realtively clean and worth a dip -in the Summer though! Only worry was later that night we went for a walk round the hotel and on the street outside were asked by a hooded youth if we wanted to buy hard drugs - left me a bit shocked and disappointed. As well as this, another couple told us they were offered sex as well.

I have been to Hammamet many times and find it very beautiful. The beach is fantastic and there is very little crime. There is also some good nightlife and because of the low crime rate, it is very safe to have a good night out.
The only time I felt uneasy was in the madina and I would not go there again.
