This is the second year running with have been to Hammamet, the resort is nice the beach is fantastic.

The only down side is the ammount of people who try to sell you things the second you walk out of the hotel. But if you are firm but polite they soon get the message and leave you alone.

Taxis in the resort are easy to find and very cheap.

A must is the old medina, but be aware you will need to haggle for everything, but we found it very enjoyable.

We didn't do any trips via the hotel this year but instead we hired a four wheel drive and a driver via the thompson rep, it was a bit more expensive but it gave us more freedom and was worth the little bit extra.

This hotel is situated between Hammamet & Yasmine Hammamet so it is very isolated.

We visited both & there wasnt much in either place.

We found the resort of yasmine to be very clean and has a lovely marina.
There is entertainment to be found within the medina though limited. Next to the medina there is 'carthage land' theme park .There is a 'pirate ship excursion' which is highly recommended. The beach is very clean and there are lots of sunbeds available and beach bars. The sand is soft and white and the sea wonderful to swim in.
We would certainly visit this resort again if going to Tunisa

The resort has a lot of building work going on. Although it is not obtrusive. The locals were friendly and helpful. A large police presence might be the reason! This helps to make for a safe feel to the resort. The beach is clean and sandy, however the track leading to the beach looks like a piece of waste ground.

Yasmine Hammamet is a purpose built resort which gives it a distinct touristy feel. As it is still developing there are some unfinished hotels but this did not ruin our holiday. In the evenings it was quite quiet, with most bars and restaurants only open in the medina and marina (which is very nice) but this may be because we went out of season. There are some nice, cheap restaurants and it's very nice to sit out with mint tea and shisha.

From Yasmine you can get easily to Hammamet and also Tunis if you feel like seeing some authentic Tunisia. Hammamet has some lovely beaches. If you dislike the haggaling aspect of shopping I would really recommend the Yasmine Medina. The stalls there have the same things as the one in Hammamet but shopping there was much easier and less harrassed . Yes you do have to haggle but no one was ever rude or aggressive (which we did experience in Hammamet). There are also fixed price stalls.

Overall, Yasmine is a lovely resort, although not too authentic, and provides a nice base if you wish to explore Tunisia a bit more.

Hammamet Yasmine is quite a small and upcoming resort so there isnt as much in it as there is in the more established resorts like Hammamet itself. In the medina in Yasmine the shops stay open until very late and their nightclub Chocoloco stays open until 6am, although it is very expensive so I would recommend Latinos in Hammamet(this too stays open until 6am)

Within Yasmine there is Tunisias first ice rink and a themepark called Carthageland, which unfortunately I didnt get to visit as it was closed when i was there, due to two people losing their lives when a ride broke down, so after that i don't think i will visit it even if it is open on my next holiday.

The shopkeepers and traders in the market are quite pushy and if you are a young girl they WILL hit on you, so be careful, just remeber to say no and dont give any eye contact. We had absolutely no trouble with any of the men in resort but i have friends who have so keep an eye out!

The resort itself is very clean and full of tourists so it is pretty safe to walk around in at night. I didn't visit the beach so i can't give any details on that. I would definately visit Yasmine again, it is small, quiet but with enough to do so that you dont get bored.

Hammamet is a very small place. Not ideal for a lad's holiday as there is not much happening in this city. Only two clubs in town and one of them was packed with Tunisian blokes. Was not impressed.

Thomson rep was not helpful at all. He was glad to take our money off us for excursions, but didn't give us any details regarding the excursion or no details regarding when we are leaving or anything like that. Had to ask him three times before we got any details of our departure. Seemed to be more interested in getting drunk and chatting up women.
