Hammamet is Hammamet. Its not as posh as PEK but its a friendly place with friendly people. Shop keepers - especially in the Medina can be a pain but a polite but definite NO keeps them at bay. Beach is great and no jelly fish this year. Its kept clean and yes you do get pestered a bit by locals trying to sell things but again NO gets rid of them. Police on horseback patrol so this helps.

It was a fantastic holiday - we chose to use our ten days relaxing and didn't venture further than Nabeul (meaning we have to go back - shame!) but there is plenty to do in Tunisia if you like to explore. The only down side is that they don't recommend that you hire a car so you do have to do the rep trips as you are so far from everything.

Tunisia is a lovely country - I couldnt believe it was October as it was mid-thirties the whole time we were there! The shopowners in the souks can be a bit pushy but if you're polite you'll be fine. Just dont touch or look at anything you dont want to buy as you will go home with it!

We ate out one night at the floating restaurant in Yasmine Hammamet and it was a superb meal. Just relax, enjoy yourselves and have a great time!

The town of Hammamet was quite awful. Nothing has changed there in years. Down the road in Yasmine Hammamet, what a fantastic surprise, new, fantastic hotels very clean streets and no one trying to fleece you. Really wonderful place, but due to its newness the resort lacks real sole at the present.

Generally, the cleanliness was good but not great. There were cats in the outdoor restauraunt which made the experience of eating outside uncomfortable.

Every night there is a different show, which will appeal to people of all ages and make you laugh.

The upkeep of the beach was very good compared to the other beaches I saw with camel poo everywhere! The only complaint about the beach is that when the moon was full the tide would be higher and all the seaweed would be swept in making it impossible to enter the sea without it going around your legs.

We visited lots of places while in Hammamet. The new part of Yasmine Hammamet had new hotels and shops while the Medina was more of an old style bazaar. The thing they have in common is that the vendors want your money. Don't be afraid to haggle and don't be afraid to walk away if you feel you are not getting value for money.

The people were very friendly and there was no pulling and grabbing as we had expected we felt quite safe at all times.

We went on the two day safari trip the highlights being the camel ride in the Sahara and El jem. Though we only had an hour here and you could have probably spent half a day at least. Be warned on both days you are picked up before dawn! We also visited Dougga the three hour coach ride is not for the faint hearted or anyone who gets travel sick. It is well worth a look. My daughter recommended the water pak in Pek.

The gardens of Tunisia tour took you to some basic Roman ruins. Some docks (described as a fishing village) and a big cave the Romans dug out of the rocks. The stone they used to build their temples with. I was not impressed.

The beach area has white sands and a look down the coast and you could be anywhere in the world. The sea was crystal clear and warm even in October.

I can recommend Cascades restaurant in Hammamet. Good food in a great atmosphere, somewhere to spend your last evening. It is nicer inside than on the patio.

We had a lovely two weeks and enjoyed every minute.

The resort over all was very clean and the gardens are well looked after.

The entertainment was fab.We did not expect any at all and were plesantly surprised. There was so much to do for the kids like beach volleyball/football,archery swimming mini golf etc.On the night time there was good entertainment aswell kids disco and then something different each night for the whole family like bellydancers, folk music and dance etc.

The beach was very clean and not far from any room.Brilliant!!!And the sand and water was perfect. We would come again and again.

The resort was OK, maybe because we were having such an awful time at the hotel we didn't get to see the resort perhaps at its best!

Above all the people of Tunisia are extremely nice and
friendly.
We visited the medina which was great to see, they do
hassle you a little to much but there are some lovely things
to see and you can always get a bargain.
We also stopped at a cafe near the medina overlooking the
sea, it was a beautiful view and we felt very welcome.
