Public rooms, food, service, all staff, everything was excellent.
Two excellent outdoor pools, one indoor, pool bar, beach bar etc. The staff whether in the restaurant or bar areas were very helpful and polite and made our stay memorable.
The food was very very good with loads of choice for breakfast and dinner. The French and Italian al-carte (at no extra cost) were a very nice touch too.
We did two trips while there. The Three Cities tour was very good value for money.

It smelt like raw sewage twentyfour seven, we even had to sleep with all windows and doors open at all times because the hotel was fully booked and so they could not move us any where!!!!!

Hotel was clean.
Food was well above average for buffet style restaurant.
Location was a brisk 30 minute walk to the port, where all the night life was, as the hotel entertainment was poor, but transport was cheap.
The Hotel was setup for the young at heart, not a lot to do for the younger couple. Great for a quiet beach holiday, but not a prime location to explore on foot.
Beds very hard, but could be typical of area.
Thomson trips, not a great deal of choice, and a lot of time spent on coaches, and only at half an hour at El Jem, 2 hours is probably required.
Nice Hotel but would stay closer to the port if ever returned.

The entertainment at the hotel was not great, and the hotel is really geared up for the young at heart guests, so there was not a great deal to do in the evening.
The food was a good and there was a good choice. The weather was not great and we did have a couple of days of rain and it was overcast.
It was Ramadan whilst we were there but you would not have noticed.

Our room and other public areas were very clean and the garden area was very nice too.
The staff were great and couldn't do enough to help. We went over Ramadan and even then everything was fine.
The entertainment was ok I guess. The place is aimed at couples and not many young couples would go on vacation and sit in the hotel of an evening so it was acceptable to sit in a bar and sing-along to "New York-New York"! Alternatively, you could sit outside and have drinks served to you and just relax.
We went on the Sahara Explorer trip with Thomson and it was good value for money. The long coach ride down South is annoying but unavoidable.
We hired a car which was only 60 dinar for the day. Thomson and the hotel offered car hire starting at 80 dinar + taxes and other blurb but ours was 60 all inc. We simply approached the First Choice rep who was a local guy and asked if he knew of local firms who are cheap and safe. The car we got was fine and we had no problems. NB. They drive very aggressively and you have to be very careful of pedestrians.

Smelly rooms, terrible food, cracked & dirty crockery, rude staff & a canteen instead of a dining room.
Wanted to come home 24 hours after arrival. This was the longest two weeks of our lives. Only the pool area stopped us from leaving.
If this hotel was in the UK they would be prosecuted under the trades description act. NEVER AGAIN.

The maid did a great job, our room looked like the first time we stepped in every day after she had been. She even made pretty shapes with my pyjamas on the bed! We had upgraded to a superior room that gave us a huge balcony to sit out on overlooking the pool.
The pools were lovely and clean and the only problem was getting a sunbed as it was very busy, but we managed to get a couple every day.
The hotel beach was also lovely and clean with a nice bar to sit in the shade and cool off. The water sports on offer were good value although I'll never go on the Doughnut rings ever again, far too fast but strangely exhilarating!
The hotel was close enough to other resorts to get there by taxi for only a few dinars so the fact that the Hotel was a bit far out never bothered us. We were happy sitting in one of the bars in the hotel while being waited on by a superb team of waiters which meant never having to queue at the bar!
Band Carthago was the main entertainment each night which got a bit boring but we liked the American Piano bar where Kamel plays and sings. One night after a thunderstorm the British contingent was rather rowdy from being cooped up all day and Kamel did a great line in sing-a-long songs that kept us all singing and clapping for hours!!
It was my birthday while we were there and we ate that night in the French a-la carte restaurant. They mad a huge fuss and brought out a cake and candles, dimmed the lights and made the whole room sing Happy Birthday. It made the night even more special.
Overall we found the food good in the main dining room. There was always a good selection and I tried many of the Tunisian dishes (except the octopus!)
All in all we had a lovely relaxing holiday in this hotel and would definitely go back.
We went with First Choice and the rep we had was a Tunisian called Issam. He was brilliant. The most helpful, informative and talkative rep I have ever met! He delivered on every promise he made and even gave us all his home number in case we needed him for anything! He also gave us lots of info about the Tunisian way of doing things which probably helped us understand the tipping system and the way they liked to do things.

The location was ideal for us as we enjoy the quiet life. We did go into Port El Kantaoui a few times, a very pleasant 45 minute walk along the beach or a 3 dinar taxi ride away, and it wasn't as fraught or smelly as Sousse which is touted as the 'Blackpool' of Tunisia. If you are looking for a nice restaurant for a special meal then try 'The Mediterranean' which overlooks the marina - make sure you book a table for the best views. A meal for two including pre-dinner drinks, a nice bottle of wine and coffee cost 84 dinars (about

All the staff were very friendly and our Waiter (Jamel) couldn't do enough for us.
The pool area was sometimes a bit busy, but again the pool waiters came round throughout the day and served us.
We ate out most evenings in the Port itself, as we found Tunisia extremely cheap.
If you do visit this hotel go to the Bazaar shop at the side of the pool, the people in the shop where very friendly and made you feel very welcome.
All in all, a good peaceful holiday.
