Port E-K itself is rather nice for a walk round during the day or evening, the only tedious part is the constant barrage from traders and cruise sellers offering what you dont want, but a polite NO is all that is required to be rid of them. Lots of cafes and eateries all reasonably priced. There is a bit of rubbish around the shore line of the Port but the beach itself is rather nice. There is a shop that sells Wine and Beer within the Port area, prices start at about three Dinars (£1.50 approx)There is not much entetainment within the Port area itself apart from in the Hotels. I think that the Port area is for tourists, but it is well worth a visit.

We stayed in Port El Kantoui, and we loved it. The port itself is very attractive with plenty of restaurants scattered around. There are several boat trips you can book to go out on.

If you like a drink of beer their local beer Celtia is very nice and also some of their wine is also nice, but if you want to drink spirits then like me bring your own from the airport as these are very expensive in the resort.

Transport is second to non and very cheap, you can travel either by taxi, noddy train, or horse and cart.

The resort of Sousse is not far away where there is a bustling medina where you can enjoy a haggle with the shopkeepers or if you prefer there are some fixed price shops.

The hotel is way out in the sticks but, transport is readily available, taxis and the noddy train. The marina gets very busy at night and it is chaotic to watch the drivers negotiate the round about. Once you have visited the marina a few times apart from Sousse it's around the hotel all the time, which eventualy becomes tedious.

Can't say much about kantoui, because we only went once. It seemed ok, but nothing special. We went mainly for a relaxing break and to have a safari trip to see some of the country.

Great Holiday good facilities though a little frayed around the edges. Choice of pools. Setting very Lush and tropical, Some fantastic day trips. Plenty for the kids to do. The Marina is excellent particularly in the evening. Typical hawkers but a firm 'no' usually suffices. Will definitely return. Beach good too. Me and the boy liked it, she loved it

Great if you want to be accosted (literally) to buy in the shops. Ripped off royally by cafe and shops. Make sure you know the currency like we did so you don't have to re-enact ali baba and the forty thieves!

The hotel itself was better than some I have visited.

The beach is only a few mins walk away and is not bad at all although there was a lot of rubbish near the beach entrance.

The entertainment was rather rubbish so if its good evening entertainment you want don't go to the Golden Soviva.

the port is man made, but is as if it.s been there since the beginning of time, very pretty and authentic, there are a lot of souvenir shops and restaurants around the the edge of the marina,we got approached by nearly all the shop keepers and resturants owners, but if you tell them a firm no! they go away, they were all very friendly though and liked to have a joke with you. you must think when in rome! this is a completly different way of life! i recommend the s.d.a.n.e.k diving centre if you want a fanstastic underwater experience, i was very scared but was made totally at ease and went cave diving, save you money and do this! all in all a brilliant resort

The resort of Port El Kantaoui itself is smart and picturesque, but it does lack evening entertainment. We found a few excellent restaurants at the Port serving good quality food at reasonable prices, just avoid any of the eateries with waiters hassling passers by and you’ll soon find the good ones – they don’t need to use these tactics.

The shops are the same as most tourist resorts, our advice is if you don’t want to buy anything – don’t go in! If they talk to you outside the shop – don’t talk back as ‘no, thank you’ will be ignored. I do enjoy bartering but it can become a pain and the constant hassle can be a bit much to take in. Use the few fix price shops and supermarkets which are just as good value.

In general the resort itself was not as friendly as we had hoped – having stayed in Hammamet and had a great experience there. But the holiday will be what you make it yourself, so try the bouka and coke, the great wine, soak up plenty of sun and experience the excellent food and you can’t go far wrong!
