We arrived at this dreadful hotel with our 7 month old baby we could not get anything to eat as restaurant was closed. we filled out our forms and had our photos taken for our all inclusive cards.

We had booked an adjoining family room to my sister but as there was no cot we had to stay in one of the rooms that already had a cot down the hall there were bars missing and the mattress didn't fit so we had so roll up towels to stuff down the sides.

We went down to the welcome meeting the next morning but got fed up and left as all the reps wanted to do was sell you excursions and as our daughter was a bit fidgety we left.

The restaurant and the bars are far too small to accommodate the amount of people there and it must be a lot worse in the height of the season. Our rep was not around much and when she was and you wanted to approach her she always either picked up her mobile or stuck her nose in a file.

You have to run the gauntlet down to the restaurant for meals as they allow market type sellers to line the corridor you have to take. They can be quite intimidating if you don't want to buy. A hotel should never let sellers in to pester their guests your hotel should be a safe haven from this type of thing You also get hounded by sellers on the beach who sell cigarettes ect we actually had men coming into the grounds by the pool selling cigarettes I think he gave the security guard a couple of dinnar to let him.

Be prepared to tip everyone unless you want to be treated badly.

There is a couple of snack bars one by the pool the other down on the beach were you can use your all inclusive cards but if you want say pizza and chips you get your pizza then have to queue again for the chips then you have to go to another bar to get drinks.

The ice creams and lollies around the pool are not free and you have to walk to the snack bar on the beach were you get one scoop of ice-cream in a little tub not much bigger than an egg cup, they are so rude and unfriendly it made you not want to go back.

The waiters were ok and were very good with my daughter but I think that was because we had followed advice of other people to tip him well the first day.

The rooms were small, cleanish but tiles on the floors needed re grouting and the hotel generally needed a revamp.

The entertainment at night was terrible we were in bed by 9 every night. In the day it was better and the animation staff did try to get you all to join in, there were water sports on the beach but there is so much camel dung on the sand and in the sea that you got covered

It was a very noisy hotel day and night don

All the advise I give to anyone visiting this hotel is NOT TO GO.

The bar & reception staff are rude and unfriendly.
The rooms are far to small.

It is noisy and smoky everywhere even in your room at night.
The entertainment is non exsistent we were in bed at 9 oclock every night.

Nothing to eat after 9pm unless you pay for an over cooked steak or a pizza with a scattering of cheese.
Expect to tip everyone as if you dont they will stand there with their hand out or mutter something in their language.

Expect to be hassled to buy something you don't want every time you go to the restaurant for your meal where the food is not very nice and repetative except the stawberries you have every night.

DONT loose your all inclusive card otherwise you have to pay for a replacement although someone probably handed it in as it is no use to anyone else.

Watch out if you are delayed as they cancel your all inclusive cards the time that the coach is supposed to collect you and they wont re activate them even if you have babies or your children.

Cots are not up to safety standards balconies are a death trap for young children and you cant lock the doors leading to them.

Get up early otherwise the cleaner will bang around outside your room until you do so he can clean your room.

Dont forget to tip him well at the end of your stay otherwise he will pull you out of the lift when you are taking your luggage down and more or less demand it.

I read some of the commments about this dreadfull hotel before going but was assured by my travel agent that we would love it.

WE DIDN'T they must know there is problems but they just keep on sending us.

I really have been put off ever going abroad again we booked this holiday a year ago and we were really looking forward to it.

We have been on many holidays abroad but this is the worse nightmare I have ever endured next time I will stay in ENGLAND.

The hotel Sahara Beach is immaculatly clean, and believe it or not it's all done by men. We only saw two ladies cleaning.

The friendliness of the staff is unbelievable, they just can't do enough for you and at the Sahara Beach, they don't expect tipping.

The food variety is just amazing, I had three courses for breakfast, dinner and tea! The food was delicious consisting of good British dishes and Tunisian specialities, well you gotta try new stuff, and it was really nice.

After collecting your bags and getting onto the coach, your checking into your hotel room in 15 minutes, so fast, then you have your photo taken for your all inclusive ID card and your free to do whatever you like.

Entertainment is on all day everyday and there can be no complaints about this hotel at all.

Three gorgeous pools, all big, and the beach a stones throw away, if you see the boat in the see in your travel brochure picture, thats the beach bar! Truely is an awsome hotel complex, visit here and your bound to have the best holiday ever!

We would definitely stay here again!

It's the way a holiday should be.

Before our holiday our flight times were changed I got home at midnight and had to go in work next day - Many thanks mytravel.

On arrivel at hotel it took twenty minutes to get all inclusive cards. We managed to get something to eat as the restaurant stayed open for an extra hour on Sundays for late arrivals.

Our room was nice and not near the lifts. We did hear noise at night on the first week but not on second. We found the food and service in the restaurant to be first class, it was much better than a lot of other places we have visited. We tried both local and European food. The sweets were very good. Forget about your diet and enjoy.

We met some nice people on holiday and entertained ourselves at night. My wife enjoyed aerobics, water arobics and stretch. As she pays for classes at home she was very pleased with the free classes and said they were as good as at home.

When we arrived at the hotel our bags where taken and we were given our cards and a drink staright away, it only took a few minutes for this to happen.

When we had unpacked etc we went down for a drink in the Skanes bar, the bevies (alcohol) where to be honest rubbish. I was drinkin double vodkas which was much bigger than you would get in England and they didnt do a thing to me until the morning, where I was quite ill so I changed my drink to Pernod which seemed to do the trick as they couldnt water this down lol.

I was impressed with the food for the first couple of days but then it got boring and repitive! The beach bar isnt very nice either although I did seem to eat a lot of pizzas from there!

The location is probably the biggest downfall as theres nothing around the hotel.

The staff are lovley and cant do enough for you, infact they became our friends over there!

Theres lots of entertainment all day, wether it be water sports or darts! The night is just as good, wether you want a quiet drink (piano bar) or a good old cabaret theres a bar to suit everyone there, theres even a club for over 18s although you do have to pay for drinks here.

I was impressed with hotel in itself and the only reason I wouldnt return is because I like to go out of the hotel but you have to go on local transport to see anything at this hotel and the transport is quite scary!

I was very depressed before going on holiday as I had read some very negative reviews about this hotel. I have to say that we had a wonderful time!!! The hotel is clean and tidy, the staff are friendly and corteous and the location - right on the beach with every room with a view of the amazing pool complex and the med beyond - you would have to go far to beat it!

We booked adjoining rooms for the 4 of us, and this worked really well. The children enjoyed the extra privacy and we all enjoyed the extra space. The rooms were cleaned every day and the towels and sheets changed regularly. You will need shampoo though, and a hairdryer.

The outdoor pool complex is fantastic to look and and the children really enjoyed it. The water was very cold, but I guess that later in the season it warmed up. We all used it though, so it couldn't have been that bad! The indoor pool is heated, and that was a good fall back / warmer. The life guards on duty on both pools were really vigilant and played with the children.

The 'animation team' (entertainment team) at this hotel is really great - there is a whole team of them and there is something going on most of the day - ping pong, football, waterpolo - you could even do aerobics if you so desired! The guys speak 5 languages which meant my pigeon French never got used thank goodness.

The food was always plentiful and warm with a lot of choice. We always found something we liked, and also made use of the pool snack bar which does snack pizzas and beefburgers - ok, not like you would get at home, but you aren't at home are you. You were allocated a table on your first meal, and went to it every night. The restuarant felt a bit cramped at times, but there was never any queues for food. Our waiter was just lovely - we tipped him 1-2 dinar most meals (less than

Well after finding this website before I went and seeing all the reviews I was a bit worried, but thought that I would just go with my family with an open mind as we have never been to Tunisia before.

It started off with our flight being delayed for 6 hours at Gatwick and we thought oh no here we go!! But.....

We couldn

Really enjoyed the Sahara beach hotel. Rooms were very clean. A party of four, we had adjoining rooms which was very handy when we were getting ready or having a drink in the room. Only negative side the maids move along the corridors from about 7 in the morning with very squeeky carts and make as much as noise as possible, I think they mean it.

There was always something different to eat in the restaurant, the Tunisian soup was excellent. Passing the stalls to get to the restaurant, a polite no thank you was all that was needed, putting your head down and not looking at someone when they talk to you is very ignorant.

Went to the market at Monastair,"the most scary experience of my live", have these people ever lived, it was the most fun day of our holiday. Yes they try to sell you things, yes they follow you along the street until you buy it, that's why your at the market, to buy something you don't really want and it's fun. Bought two leather lamps, they wanted ninety dinar and we got them down to thirty, haggling, it's great fun. If you don't want hassle go to Spain, do you really want to buy a donkey and another hat.

The staff don't want tipped at every turn, they're fed up of everybody being so misserable, tell them your Scottish the first night and watch the favours starting.

"The beach was horrible, everywhere I looked camel dung", actually No, why do people that wear glasses never take them on holiday. Round balls of sea weed is actually what's on the beach, the beach is beautiful white sand, but the water and shoreline is pretty dirty, stay further back and you'll not see the bad bits, especially if you dont have your glasses with you.

Only really negative thing, you only get two thirds of a cup when you ask for a juice, why I don't know, it just means they use more cups. It sounds small, but gets annoying when your lying in the sun.

Go on holiday, have fun, stop winging.

We have been to Tunisia before and love the country.

We arrived Wed 2.30 pm, 16/3/05. The coach was full but we were the only ones to get off [did the others know something?]

The room was small but very clean.

There was a Gala night on so we had to eat in the pizzeria. We ordered our food and waited and waited, after 40 mins the food arrived, it went straight back as did the next dish. Let's just say it was slop, we ended with a pizza the size of a childs hand, that was the only thing we had to eat that day. Thank goodness we had some Mars bars in the flight bag.

There was a 50th birthday party just behind us, the husband had order a birthday cake which arrived 30 mins after they had left.

For breakfast the next morning I had some ham rolls, on the second roll my wife saw that I had been eating dead flies in the rolls welded to the ham.

Every time you went to the restaurant you had to run the gauntlet past what was no more than a market, speed was the name of the game. If you walked slow they got you and you would arrive at dinner a lot lighter in the pocket and with some piece of rubbish you did not want. The food was awfull, nothing freshly cooked, just swimming in cold fat or oil.

The hotel staff in general were just on the earhole for dinars. In the reception area we would sit there drinking playing "watch the waiter suffer" by leaving a bit of change on our table, they would stand there within reaching distance sweating, the tension was great.

You had to make your own entertainment because this place had none, we had decided that this was the only way to get through the week.

Every tour rep was inundated with complaints and demands to be moved every day, why do the tour companies bother with hotel? I can't say anything good about it.

Walking on the beach was like walking minefield of camel dung.

A special thanks to the couple from Broardstairs who kept us entertained through the week.

Please every tour operator pull out of this dump, they might get their act together.
