Altinkum boasts two main beaches with a third tucked away in a quiter area of Altinkum. If you want to get away from the british themed bars in altinkum i suggest you try out The Garden and the Relax Inn. As for night clubs you must go to Medusa, its a massive open air night club just above the beach, we went there on our last night and wished we went sooner. We are going back to Altinkum in the summer of 2007. We just cant wait to go back !

ATINKUM is the resort we stayed in. All around the beach is restaurants and cafes and is a lovely area. In Dolphin Square are assortments of open bars offering entertainment and several shops.
Be prepared to be hassled though to get you to eat in their places, it is hard work shaking all those hands. My personal favourite was the Swan bar !

ALTINKUM is very dusty with a lot of building work going on but all in all a very nice place to go.
The local people are always cleaning and the resort is excellent for buying clothes watches etc.
Plenty of bars shops and restaurants that all want your business, you just pick the people that you like the look of.(Ibrahim in the grand restaurant for example) and all the staff at Shady Nook Restaurant that made cup final day very memorable.(If not for the result)
If you get fed up of always turning away the approaches of the staff trying to coax you to "come in mate", "lovely jubbly" and other witticisms, then you must visit the SUMMER BREEZE BAR situated about 75 Mtrs from the Tropicano Didim Beach Resort Hotel. (approx 30p on the Dolmus from Dolphin square) There is no pressure from the Owner and staff to "Come in mate" but the friendliest of welcomes when you do.
The Full English breakfast is brilliant (as my waistline will testify)
This bijous bar is ideal for couples and families that want to have a drink and sit and chat, not shout over the excessively loud music. Although the owner Celal is a little "Sheepish" (private joke) He and his staff Naffi and (long) John made our minds up to go for two weeks next year and sample some more of their TURKISH hospitality.
The beach in the bay is curved and ideal for children as it is very shallow for a long way out, beds and umbrellas are available for about £1 per item but may be hard to get in high season.
Yes I would definitely go here again, the people are so friendly the weather is beautiful even this early in the year, but needed longer to go on the trips, especially the British boat trip.

The beach was excellent with a promenade type walkway all along the seafront. Restaurants and bars also looked out over the beach. Bars and restaurants were all of a high standard offering a wide choice of food and drinks. In all the restaurants we used the service was most excellent.

The resort is beautiful..
For somewhere nice and cheap to eat I would advise anyone to eat at Sultans restaurant.....its georgous.
Theres lots of bars for young and old. Lots to choose from but you cant fault Mr Whites bar aka EGE BAR. Constant entertainment....if your up for clubbing go try Seal bar, Galaxy bar n Flamingo and I cant forget Megusa.
the beaches are georgous could sit there all day.
definately going to visit again in august.

The resort is nice and clean. You get harrassed like mad outside every cafe, bar and shop. Try to just walk past and say "no thanks" and they hold their hand out and say "why you not shake my hand" they are very clever and polite and you almost always you end up talking for a few minutes.
This did put us off but I believe all of Turkey is like this, our first time there.
The beach is nice and no hassle there, the market is really good if you like barganing. Loads of jeans, tops, shorts, underwear, shoes & trainers. All 'designer'.

Lots of building work is going on at the moment but it is still a lovely resort with lots of bars and restaurants to please all tastes.
A good market is held every Saturday with lots of bargains to be had.

The resort is really for families and older couples. The restaurants along the main beach fromt are pretty standard and you'd be pushed to find something you didnt like. Downside is you cant walk 5 yards with out getting harrassed into going into a restaurant!

The resort was fun , lively and yet relaxing, the footpaths were uneven and patchy and so made walking a little difficult but overall we had a great time there. The beach was very clean but be wary of guys trying to clean your shoes at exorbitant prices even when they don't need to be cleaned!
