Altinkum must be the most entertaining place in Turkey.
It was realy clean and everyone was so friendly. The roads around the resort were poor but we went everywhere in a local dolmus so it diddnt realy affect us that much.
All the bar and restaurant owners try to entice you into their place to eat which can become annoying as it happens every few yards down the road.
I would definitely go shopping through the day as it doesnt happen so much then. The beaches are beautiful but very packed, lots of water sports.
Can't wait for next year.

The cleanliness of the resort was brill we walked the whole length of the promenade and it was lovely and clean.
The entertainment was good but we were only there for a week so we did not have enough time to get round it all. We spent a lot of time in the Kiss bar which was good fun as Jason and Junior always put on a really good dance show.
On our last night we went to the Big Nose bar I wish we had went there sooner as it was really good as well.
There were plenty of places to choose from to eat and I never had a bad meal yet.
My favourite restaraunt was the Family Door we had Sunday dinner there and it was better than some place I have had dinner at back home.
I would definitely go back some time in the future.

Altinkum is a lovely resort, really busy down and around Dolphin Square, be prepared to be stopped passing every restaurant, but at the end of the day it is there jobs and they don't mean any harm. Can get some nice bargains, but be careful for english ciggarettes and tobbaco, you get what you pay!
Lovely places to eat, Nigels restaurant, mad max was great, Casserole again fantastic meals and staff lovely, Adam in particular. And also try the Family Door there Sunday lunch was delicious.
Must visit Ephesus and we also enjoyed the five island boat trip well worth the £8 english pound per adult.
If to visit Turkey again will only take British money as they accept that and most things are worked out in the english pound anyway!

... if you do go to Altinkum definately visit the sunshine bar and beer bank these are two of the best family and social areas to visit also the dolphin bar is meant to be brilliant.
the beach has to be the best part of the resort itself.. especially on the night.. its calm and the sea is still quite warm... and if you look very carefully you might see the odd dolphin... Altinkum is sooooooo great... we loved it... its really hot.. you get the best tan... so go on... give it a go!!!

Being the third time we've been, we remembered what it was like, quiet, relaxing, clean, friendly people, all that has changed, the beach was dirty, the locals all wanted you to either eat or drink in their pub or buy somthing, hassle all the time.
There was nothing to do with a small child, and nothing to do if you didn't want to drink all the time. Also the prices have increased an awful lot (cheaper staying at home).
I would never go back to this resort again.

The all holiday was just amazing I loved the resort. I think that the beach was fantasic but it had cigaretts on it.
The entertaiment was 100/100, I absolutely love it. The Turkish people are the nicest people ever. But I do think that the resort is a little hilly and bumpy and a tiny bit dirty.
What I would say is go on this holiday, and have a holiday of a life time.

The resort was nice and clean and pretty much self contained. However the majority of shops are at the other end of Altinkum. To get there you have to run the gauntlet of all the shop and restuarant owners that want you to visit their premises. This is about a 200 metre stretch, and can be quite a task day after day.Dont get me wrong the people are very polite and friendly and I guess work on commission, so can be quite pushy.

I have travelled extensively in Turkey but Altinkum is always my family's first choice. It's too full of ex-pats now for my liking, i prefer quieter Turkish resorts.

Altinkum resort itself is not bad at all, the only thing that puts me off wanting to go back is the amount of hassle you get when you walk down the beach front. You are simply not allowed to walk for more than 5 yards without somebody trying to literally drag you into the shop/bar/restaurant.
Also the prices in the resort have increased dramatically since we were last there 5 years ago. It certainly is no longer cheap.
