Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler is a hive of activity, with something for everyone, invcluding great local market stalls. Beware some of the more unsrupulous shop owners who try to lure you in and then won't let you back out without buying. Although this practise is becoming outlawed with the no hassle policy being adopted by many.
Overall an excellent resort with good beach, entertainment and fantasticly freindly people.
We go back in july 2007, cant wait.

We love Icmeler! This year it was very quiet which is a shame for the bar and restaurant owners as they put in so much effort, nothing is too much trouble for them. We didn't eat the hotel breakfast but at the end of our holiday found an excellent value for money breakfast at Artemis on the main road to the beach run by Jackie and Kevin from South Wales, cheap and very filling with proper British bacon and all their staff are great. For all Blondie fans at the Miray last year some of the boys are now at Amalia opposite the Red Lion and love to see their old customers food is good too couldn't move after the Turkish night on Wednesday. We have to give a mention to Messi on the beach in front of Coco Beach bar who will bring anything you need without you having to leave your lounger, and he remembers everyones name too. What a memory. We hope to visit Icmeler again it is perfect.

Icmeler is an extremely beautiful and scenic location.
Entertainment is fine for young children although teenagers would prefer lively Marmaris. There are over 200 bars and restaurants in icemeler so look around and dont be dragged into the first restaurant you come across,as waiters can be very persausive.
A good night out for entertainment has to be the International dream boys bar and for food try the Romance restaurant.
Unfortunatley the beach was very shingly and stoney not suitable for young children building sand castles etc

Icmeler is a perfect sized resort with plenty of bars and restaurants. The beach is great and reasonably quiet in June. The water does get deep within a few metres of the shore though.

We have been to Turkey 4 times now - Gumbet, Hisaronu, Kussadassi and now to Icmeler, out of the 4 we rated Icmeler as being the best overall.
The beach is clean but a bit too rough on the feet for me.
The turkish shop sellers/ shaves etc /bars/ restaurant did tout for business as they all do but I found they hassled you slightly less than some of the above mentioned resorts.
The bars are pretty much located in 3 main areas - along the beach, along the canal area (quite picturesque area) and in the centre and then on the outskirts.
All of the bars/restauratns all seem to offer the same entertainment - i.e. the usual turkish dances - Jiggy, Jiggy / Cha Cha slide and some Michael Jackson inpersonators and break dancing performed by the bar staff.
The break dancing In Oscars bar (in the town centre) was particulary good until we went the The Garden (Bar/Restaurant) (located 2 mintues round the corner from Pinewood and opposite De Va Ju). The break Dancers that came to The Garden to the show were fantastic far better than any in town that we saw. The are real pro's. Even if youre not staying near by its worth getting a dolmus or taxi just to come and see these dancers. After their show they stayed in the bar and chatted, played pool with us and showed our son and his friend (aged 14) some break dancing moves.
The Garden itself was a very friendly place and always a warm welcome awaits. The drinks are as cheap as anywhere and the cocktails/Fishbowls stronger than everywhere esle! And a free pool table.
The trips are cheap enough too. Boat trip - £6, Jeep Safari - £11, Dalyan - £10 ish - all these trips last all day and include lunch. The horse safari was £10 and all in all from being picked up to being dropped off was only 3 hours with no lunch, which I thought was quite poor value in comparison to the other trips. The horse riding itself lasted 1.5 hours.
I do reccomend the jeep safari if youre up for a laugh and dont mind getting wet!! DO take a water gun!!
I hope the above has been useful. To give you an idea of our family. we are aged 38, 35, 14 & 14 (sons friend), up for a laugh and cant think of anything else Id rather spend our hard earned money than going on holiday and enjoing ourselves and bringing back some wonderful memories to treasure.

Spotless clean everywhere.
Enterainment is a bit rubbish, Micheal Jackson tribute everywhere.
Beach was clean, not a beach lover so can't really comment.

Having gone into marmaris for the day we were really glad we stayed at icmeler. It is a lot cleaner and there is plenty to do without it being too in your face.It is more picturesque being surrounded by hills and you could probably walk round the resort in 30 mins.It is also flat so people with mobility problems would find it fine. There are plenty of shops [be prepared to barter] and you are not too hassled to go in.A polite no thank you usually works.
There are numerous restaurants all serving good quality food[i even found one [the baron ] that does a boro special-the good old parmesan and it was not bad].For an extra special meal try the Love Boat, we had a starter each, our main meal and drinks and it was less than £25.Another good restaurant was the chinese next to the idas hotel which was all you can eat for £6 each and you get a bottle of wine.We opted for the white[i don,t like red] and it wasnt too bad.
There are numerous bars ,a few worth a try,Linekers,The Geordie Bar,Wonderboys,Jimmys kareoke bar.For something a bit different try Harmonies that has a resident drag artist[dont go if you are easily offended ]Stella who was good we really enjoyed it.The local beer[lager] cost about £1 and cocktails ranged from £2.50 to£4.Named brands also were dearer than local brands but this is expected wherever you travel to.
All in all we thoroughly enjoyed icmeler[and the husband never fancied turkey]and would certainly pay it avisit again in the future.
