Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

We stayed in Icmeler, it was our first visit to Turkey, and apart from the hotel, which was a big let down, the resort is wonderfull, the people are fantastic and make you welcome, we are going back in Sept this year

6th vist to Turkey and 1st to Icmeler, I will go back again. The resort is spotless never any litter or bits of chewing gum stuck on pavement. Plenty of restaurants most of which are serving excellent food.
Special mention to Captain Bullshit restaurant and Wayside restaurant in the old village. For lunch we ate most days at savas Cafe Anne right on the beach front. Chicken kebabs were delicious, gateaux were fantastic and the drinks amongst the lowest priced on the holiday. Tables were under large umbrellas so always cool and always busy.
Opposite this is a small stand advertising boat trips. This only cost me £5 for a full day and also lunch, excellent value.
Not much entertainment in resort really a few karaoke bars and other bars playing music. Many of the restaurants and bars will have the waiters dancing but unless you like to hear, Kiss Kiss, casper slide song, and is this the way to Amarillo every night.
I was abit disappointed witht he beach. its mainly small stones and not a great deal of sand. I love to walk along the water front paddling, however I found this to be too painful on the toes due to the small stones.
When you come to the front walk along to the left passed the Laguna hotel and beyond the beach seems to be a bit better here and is also a lot quiter. The promenade runs all the way to Marmaris, which I walked, took about 1.5 hours and is spectacular.
Very easy walk mainly flat and is shaded most of the way with superb views across the bays.
The only pain about this resort as with all Turkish resorts, is the hassle of the shopkeeprs. As soon as you walk into their shop they descend upon you. I usually ended up just walking out without buying, I prefer to look in my own time.
If they left us alone to look around I am sure we would buy more.
All in all a great resort with something for everyone.

The resort was a pain. Every where you go you get hassled. "please just look at our menu".
There are loads of restaurants and they all offer different things, you have to remember to haggle. We managed to get a free bottle of wine, kids eat for a pound and free kids drinks in one restaurant(bart simpsons). Just remember to haggle.
The supermarket is just 5 minutes walk away, and you can get a kilo of chicken breast for only £1.20.
There are loads of cafes along the beach front and loads of chaps trying to sell you trips/speed boats/sunbeds. You just have to haggle.

Our first time in Icmeler.
Resort was lovely and clean with plenty of restaurants and bars with music in most of them (some of it a bit too loud) - all reasonably priced.
There are also about 100 hairdressers in Icmeler if you have a bad hair day and plenty of jewellers to spend any spare cash in.
We found a very good hamam (Turkish bath) at Idas hotel. A nice place to eat was Alaturka restaurant, on the main road into Icmeler, almost opposite Mudurno Chicken and Tansaº. I was taken there for a Turkish lunch one day and also had my favourite lentil soup a couple of times in the evening. They also serve steaks etc. although it is a typical Turkish place. The owner Tolgahan Korkmaz will look after you very well.
Near our hotel was a lovely cake/coffee shop (unfortunately) and they also did nice lunches. Boat trips are a must and we spent a couple of lovely days at sea, stopping a various bays for a swim. Lunch was included in the boat trips as was transport from and to the hotel on one of them.
We spent most of our time on the Deniz Kapisi beach which suited us well, nice music in the bar behind, a bit of entertainment from the waiters and drinks and lunch ordered on the beach. No need for any strenuous activity! The beach was nice and clean and kept tidy all day by the beach boys.
Nothing more to say really - Icmeler is lovely. We had a wonderful and restful holiday - just what we needed. Would go back again.

There is so much to see and do that it would be impossible to tell you every thing, but I'll mention our family favourites.
Jeep safari.. a must but be prepared to get wet and dirty and don't miss the 'Blue Fish' we booked through Erokoy across the road from the Alvaro Restaurant.
Lazy day cruise, very relaxing.
Restaurants
Venice...briliant food and the waiter show is great
Dreamboys....be astounded with the cocktail delivery .
Chef Restaurant......wonderful food we ate there twice.
Chill Bar....excellent
Majestic........food is great
Harmony Bar....check oit Stella
In fact we did not have one bad meal anywhere

I thought Icmeler was an excellent resort.
We were told that we would like it before we arrived and it lived up to expectations.
Plenty to do without being too hectic. Only downside was that the journey from the airport was far too long but that may have been down to our tour operater.

This was our 9th visit to Icmeler and it never loses its charm.
It has grown somewhat since our first time in 1999 but is still as pretty, clean and friendly as always. Just about everywhere is within walking distance and easy to get around.
We always feel safe and welcome here and have made so many friends over the years that it is like our second home.
The one thing that I don't like is the fact that so many of the hotels are going all inclusive and I'm afraid it may in the long run spoil the feel of the resort.
