Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Loved the resort and would return again but not to Esenkoy Hotel.

The resort was very quite as it was so late in the season , with some bars and shops closed for the winter, but there was still more than enough to keep us happy.
Try eating at the Venice next to the canal and Chef on the main drag, the staff are great.We would definetly advise to got to Turunc and Ciflic bay and the Jeep Safari and Aegaen castaway cruise ( both booked through Julian) were fantastic and really made the holiday special.If you like your resorts busy then Marmaris or maybe even peak season Icmeler would suit but October in Icmeler is worth experiencing as well even if just for a nice laid back holiday.Everything was very cheap , food clothing etc so very good VFM.

Icmeler itself is a nice little town, full of friendly people, the food is lovely and the shopping great.

I went to Icmeler last year with my family and thoroughly enjoyed it and have just recently booked to go again in August. I can't wait. Icmeler is soo friendly.
We went to Dream Boys restaurant and bar everynight the DJ was great.
The are lovely stores and bars by the sea front and by the canal.
The dolmus is a nice way to have a slow but cool tour around.
The beach is great but in June-August it is really for younger children you have to run to the shade on the beach. There are plenty of sunbeds.

Me and my mum loved Icmeler. We are going back for 6 months in May and wouldn't go anywhere else! The nightlife is great and everyone is so friendly and accommodating. We made loads of Turkish friends over there and can't wait to go back!
There was so much to do we couldn't fit it all in. I went parasailing and on loads of boat trips. I preferred Icmeler to Marmaris as it was too busy for my liking!

I enjoyed staying at this resort I loved it I can't wait to go back I loved it that much.
The beach was gorgious I got a lot of my tan on the beach. The resort got cleaned all the time

Icmeler has to be our favorite resort. Our first visit to Turkey was in July 2002 where we stayed in Marmaris. We liked Mamaris but also made a couple of trips to Icmeler. Since then we have been back to Icmeler twice a year. Icmeler is a lot quieter and less crowded than Mamaris but still manages to provide lots of entertainment and things to do. The bars and resturants are plentiful and Almost all the people/staff we met would do almost anything to ensure you have a great stay.
Don't be put of by the touts trying to get business... they are just doing their jobs and work mainly on a commision basis,,, so please be kind, a polite (but firm) "No Thank you..." will do the trick.
We have been to Icmeler at the end of May and also first two weeks in October. There is a huge difference in the whole atmosphere of the place at these times. The Weather is a little milder during these months, but still warm enough to sunbathe during the day and still wear t-shirts and shorts during the evenings. The trips are not quite so crowded, so you do get better value for money and service!
During May there seems to be an atmosphere of excitement and everyone appears to be Buzzing with the approaching holiday season. Its hard not to get caught up in the expectations of a good year to come.
During October everything has changed. The resort is slowly winding down and there is an atmosphere that can only be described as "laid back" Some of the fresh veg n fruit on the menu may not be as readily available but there is always an alternative offered. October is also the best time of the year for bargains... Make the effort to visit the markets in Icmeler and haggle, haggle, haggle ! The Stall holders will drop prices more than at any other time of year and we came home with some excellent bargains !
We love the trips... most are for a full day and are inclusive of lunch. Do take extra cash for drinks and tips ect,,, Most of the trips arange for collection from your hotel/accomodation and drop you off back there at the end of the day. Best advice is to stagger your trips throughout your stay. We book all ours on the first day (you will get a better discount this way) and do remember to keep a copy of days and times.
We recomend the Jeep Safari for a good giggle. Don't attempt this trip if you have NO sense of humour as you will get SOAKED in many water fights... We do this trip twice a year and still havn't got bored with it!
(watch out for a geezer called John,,, He was one of the staff on our jeep safari,,, He spoilt a very good day for a lot of people in October 04 and I am suprised he didn't get a good thumping. He used a cam-recorder to film the whole day and then sells the discs at the end of the day, but when we came back and watched it, We had to throw it in the bin... This man is a pervert with a cam-recorder and the whole film was full of up-skirt and down-top shots of all the females on the trip, and lots of very over the top sexual comments. Not nice or funny when you have children on the trip)
The mud baths and turtle beach trip is also very good value for money and a very enjoyable day out. My hints,,, wear a pair of old socks to go in the mud baths... it is VERY VERY slippy underfoot !
The lazy day boat trip is one of our favorite days. You may be offered the chance to pay an extra few quid and go all inclusive,,, for drinks... to be fair it wasn't worth the extra as the bar was only open at certain times and the drinks were cheap enough anyway so not really good value for money if like us you drink mainly pop and water during the day.
The Turkish night is a must... The entertainment is superb and so is the food and drinks... we had several bottles of red wine,,, which the waiters brought to our table as soon as one bottle was empty (lay your bottle on its side once it is empty)
Talk of the town show is hilarious !!! There are 2 shows,,, one of which is not sutible for children so please make sure you state if there are children. We took our 10 year old God Daughter and was not concerned with any of the content in the show,,, it IS near the knuckle but more like a carry on film than offensive.
We are back in Icmeler 20th May at the blue rainbow so say hi if you spot us :)

I love Icmeler! I have told all my friends and family about it and they must be sick of my by now.
It is so relaxing and laid back, not at all like I thought it would be. I'd always thought of Turkey as arid and dirty, but it is a beautiful country with friendly people. Icmeler in particular is a lovely town, surrounded by mountains covered in pine trees.
The beach is shingle so a bit stony, but the sea is warm and not too deep. You will always get beach boys asking you to go on their patch, but just politely say no thanks and they will just say okay, bye.
The underground market is fantastic for a bargain and haggling is normal. The big market on a Wednesday is even better, but is on a bit of a hill so make sure you have your walking shoes on. You can buy everything from spices to designer jeans up there. They sell beach towels for a tenner for at least 2, usually 3 and have all sorts of designs, eg. NUFC, Ferrari, MUFC, Simpsons, etc.
The food in Icmeler is really good. The lamb is superb almost everywhere. I would recommend the Mandalin and Captain Cook restaurants. Please also try a small place just across the road from the entrance to the Efes Inn called Captain Okimos Bar (or Jimmys, once you get to know him). He's a retired naval sea captain and his wife is lovely and cooks all the meals. You MUST try her home made apple cake - fantastic. All in all, Icmeler is somewhere you fall in love with and every review I've ever read can't rate it high enough.
Please try it if you are thinking about visiting Turkey. You will not regret it.

Yes I am coming back to Icmeler, and I am trying the Club Sun Village apartments, but will use the same bar we used last year, next to the Galeria Park.
