Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

the resort can be lively of an evening but you can go to the quieter places, i prefered icmeler to marmaris. prices varied for food and drinks, we wouldnt pay more than 4 lira for a pint of efes(lager)the cheapest we cn was £1. evening meals range from £6-£15 each. our favorite eating places was the Titanic, Captain bullshit(superb) The lemon Tree. Be prepared for the hard sell in restaraunts and shops, it does get on ur nerves after a while. Also be prepared to haggle down the prices of everything, eg a t-shirt 60lira can be purchased for 12 lira or less, big difference. The wednesday market was the same Wot ever u pay at home for something just go lower and be prepared to walk off. Also we wish we hadnt of taken lira as they always wanted our £, we purchased the lira at home for 2.10 they were offering 2.25 or more or if u payed in £ u got it cheaper. i will probably go back one day as we enjoyed it very much, the beach was shingle which i thought was better than sand, the sea was lovely and had stunning views all around. We took a lazy days boat trip it was called woodstock and payed 25 lira each which included bbq, bottled water, flat beer or fizzy drinks in cups, if u pay 30lira its bottled, dont go for a trip where you buy your drinks as they will be expensive. the bays we visited were lovely and u could go for a swim. i think the resort can cater for young or old.

the resort of icmeler is lovely, the road sweepers are out every morning cleaning and the choice of restaurants is amazing, but do be aware of restaurants towards beach front as we used Karem's a traditional turkish restaurant and got scammed. after we had ordered our starters they asked if we wanted it meze style (we thought) it turned out they charged us an extra 40 lira for this, then when we order our main course they asked if we would like salad, again we we charged extra, so be careful make sure you ask how much when ever your are offered anything. we finished our holiday with the dalyan trip this was fantastic and i would recommend this especially if you have a night flight.

we have been to icmeler 3 times and realy love the place and the people. e have made some good friends with a few of the local lads and keep in touch. we will go to icmeler again but not for a few years

We first went to icmeler 12 years ago, we went to other parts of turkey in between but the best place on this earth is icmeler

Icmeler is in a fabulous location, within easy reach of Marmaris (Turkeys answer to Blackpool?)either by the walk along the paved promenade(about7km) or by Dolomous bus 2ytl each way. Icmeler beach is wide and safe with shallow bathing areas for children and adults and a good selection of water sports if needed. Plenty of sunbeds, parasols and beach boys to keep you happy and well watered. There is a vast selection of shops all selling fake designer gear and watches but if you can't get a bargain here then try the Wednesday market which again is selling the same cheap gear, get there early to avoid the rush.
The choice of restaurants in Icmeler is fantastic with everything you can think of, but two I would recommend are the Love Boat,brilliant staff, immaculately clean and the food is to die for and no dearer than anywhere else, and also the Lighthouse which is excellent with great Turkish food and again the staff are friendly and helpful (ask for Rose)Nightlife is manic if you want it with crowded disco pubs and loads of live shows (e.g Michael Jackson impersonators, belly dancing and drag acts) but there are some quiet bars to just sit and talk also.All in all a recommended resort to visit.

Resort was reasonably clean considering the amount of bars restaurants in the area. Entertainment in bars and restaurants was good fun, very friendly and welcoming. Although we never went onto the beach we walked along the promenade which was very nice. We would definitely visit this resport again.

Icmeler resort is kept to a high standard. No matter what type of entertainment you are looking for, you will find it here. The beach is spotless, with beds costing a pound a day. Plenty of watersports are available for the more energetic. This resort is great for families and couples, of all ages.

We have visited other resorts in Turkey but we find that Icmeler is the place we like best. It is clean and if you want entertainment then you can find it in the resort centre but if you want a quiet holiday then there are plenty of places around the old village to sit and have quiet meals and watch the world go by. Ozzys, Angels and Love Star (to name but a few) are very good restaurants and the food is outstanding. We didn't go to the resort beach this time but we have been in previous visits to Icmeler and found it clean and uncrowded. We have booked up again for September 2009.

We have visited Icmeler about 8 or 9 times now, and as usual the resort is spotless, i would say that the "hassle" you sometimes used to get has more or less disappeared.

best place in turkey very nice people, great beach, loads to do at night, going back for mopre
