Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler is really nice and friendly, the Turkish cannot do enough for you, the markets and shops do get a bit aggitated if you go into their shop but dont buy anything. I would definaly go back any day to Icmelar. Beach is beautiful and there are waiters ready to bring drinks and food over to you whatever you would like just shout and they are there to help.

We stayed at Icmeler Turkey, the resort is fantastic, it's beautifully clean, the day and night entertainment is great, plenty for sigles, couples and families.
The beach, well it's not a beach really, it's gravell and sharp so take flip flops haha.
Would we visit resort again? we are next year, it's "Brilliant".

Beach was a bit gritty, plenty of shops/bars, loads of entertainment, could be a bit noisy around the canal area though all music goes off at midnight. All shopkeepers are open to bartering and an excellent market on a Wednesday which costs 7 lira to get to in a taxi.
Boat trips recommended, views are stunning as you sail by pine clad mountains and swim in clear blue waters in the many bays you visit.

Icmeler itself
It did seem quieter, with less people wondering about, but there were still plenty of comings and goings. Wonderboys, Oscars and Elvis bar always seemed busy so had a regular clientele. Because our balcony was on the front on the main road we could people and bar watch.
The shops weren’t as keen on bartering, but we still had a bash and did get some money knocked off, especially if buying more than 1 item. We tended to buy more traditional Turkish goods this year than the fake clothes. We mooched round the underground market, but didn’t go on the Wednesday market, I couldn’t face the heat and bustle.
The hassle seemed worse from the hairdressers and travel agents, just be careful to ask what is included on trips as quite often they were mis-sold. This happened to someone at our apartments and to my mum when booking the jeep safari.
Because it was sooooo hot, averaging 47 oC you had to gather the energy to walk anywhere so we didn’t eat out at too many places, that’s where the resort train is much needed again, we used to enjoy having a tootle around on that.
We found the man who made sandals on the beach market, £35 a pair, I bought a pair and they’re lovely and soft.

Was expensive, that was my fault for going there. Don’t know what went on there, the waiter acted as if he couldn’t speak at the beginning, but he understood enough English to take the order. Then started speaking as we were finishing, unless he was messing about but it was a bit strange to say the least.
Love Boat, we still never made it to Love Boat, will have to do that next year. Also didn’t get to the 3 bells (4) either, laziness this time.
Vince’s ate there often for convenience sake.
Richards Place, was mad and manic on the nght we ate there so didn’t enjoy it that much, felt very rushed. However had a few breakfasts there which was well cooked and reasonable.
Captain Bullshits, we had breakfast on the way back from Tansas and we weren’t impressed, sausage was yucky frankfurter type and it was dearer than most of the others. Checked the dinner menu while there and they were dearer than others. I still maintain its not the same since Skinny Rambo and Robbie Williams left 4 or 5 years ago.
English chippy opposite Hobgoblins, nice, reasonable but the 2 men who were serving kept staring at us, maybe they wanted rid of us and it was only 10pm.
Eileens chippy, gone downhill, since last year, unless we got them on a bad night. Mum had jacket spud which was mushy and lumpy at the same time, and they messed up the kids order. So we didn’t return.
Takeaway opposite 2 Sisters, think its called the tasty spot.
Lovely, cheap and just what you wanted when you didn’t want a huge plate of dinner. Would eat there more next year, would suggest others eat at the takeaways more if on a budget or needing to cut down one night if overspent the night before. 50 lira for 6 of us with a soft drink each, that’s a bargain.

Did not visit beach but I think it was nice enough, if far away (again would need to get a taxi or dolmus bus). We didnt stay out late much to see the entertainment as the buses stopped at 2330 i think. The night we stayed out was very good fun although the turkish men - please be wary of them. They are after whatever they can get from you. Overall I did enjoy my holiday although I would stay further into icmeler the next time I go and I certainly would not return as a single sex group. I feel the attitudes towards women are dated and they do not respect women as much as british do.

this is a lovely area, people are very friendly, haggling and bartering are a fun way of shopping, can be a pain, but no different to any other country. slightly more xpensive than last year, but every where is. very easy to get around. the only pain s the eastern europeans. they are very rude to everyone. manners do not cost, but are required by everyone. get rid of them and turkey would be back to how it always was.
