Have to try Tommy's bar (2 minutes over the road) - fantastic food and service - Also Meryhem (a 10 minute walk towards square) is absolutely the best if you like local cuisine - try the mixed meze starter - WoW!

Plenty of lovely restaurants close by, and depending if you like Boom Boom bars or places for a chill drink, everything is on your doorstep, but doesn't interfere with your sleep.

Icmeler is a lovely little town but too small and too quiet. I have stayed in Marmaris before and it is much much better for entretainment and things to do. The music goes down at twelve midnight. The police have become very strict with regards to staff at bars hassling people to come in. Whilst we were there 21 bars all closed down for 3 days for harrassing people. So if you have been coming over the years you will notice less hassle now as staff terrified of getting bar closed down. They have also installed CCTV cameras around icmeler now so they can watch what is actually going on in the streets. Good Idea. Please Please if you visit Icmeler DO NOT visit the Elvis Bar, All the staff are rip off merchants they think you are drunk and at the end of night try to short change you. I asked for a glass of wine and was charge £4.00. We tried to argue and say this wasnt right but they were having none of it.... needless to say they closed down the next night for 15 days for hassling people!!!!!!!!! If they hassle you go to police and complain.
The food prices have gone up... you could probably get same price back in England.. dont be fooled by their sirloin steak either its frying steak. Cigarettes,boat trips, scooter hire is still very cheap. They are getting rather cheeky over there now and some things are cheaper back home. Watch out for airport prices £5.20 for a big Mac. The resort was nice and clean but if its clubbing you want then you are better off in marmaris.
I only went for a walk on the beach once but that was enough its cram packed and not even sand its more like grit
so dont go there if its a nice beach youre looking for
I did on the whole like Icmeler but dont think I will go back to turkey again as it has got very expensive over the years the shops even want top price for their fake gear now!

I will never go back to Icemeler or Turkey again. Looked at many peoples comments no disrespect people are deluded when they state all very pleasant and dont hassle. When hassle means that when you say NO means NO they continue down the road after you, and when you dont acknowledge them they call you rude.
You are in conversation with other people you are with there is only so many acknowledgements you can do to be polite it becomes tedious after being stopped time after time.
Each year they are becoming more aggressive. I get impression they dont like us at all being in their country and this friendliness is all a big big act to get you to spend money.
They use small animals as gimmicks to get you in some bars young chicks,rabbits and even a puppy at the korsican bar.So you stop to look and the staff are there in a flash trying to get you in bar because you stopped.
You cant look at a menu in peace or a shop in peace without 'YES PLEASE'. British women are an embarrassment to England they fall for turkish waiters under the impression the turks are genuine.
British women have told me if the turkish men dont get jiggy jiggy they can turn quite nasty towards them. Gangs roam around Icemeler after 12.00am pretending to be friendly and walk girls home or ask them to walk on beach, their intention is to rob your purse or again try and be too forward. BEWARE GIRLS.
Stay away from ELVIS bar three nights tried to short change me. They know they have short changed you but they think you are either drunk or dont understand their money
as soon as you call them back over after getting your bill , you dont even have to tell them you have been short changed they bring money over straightaway, and say sorry gave you wrong bill.
Anyway bar was closed for 15 days for hassle and ripping people off. Cant see this bar lasting much longer.
Shame about turkey not what it used to be cheap and cheerful, now expensive for food and Phoney waiters in bars and Phoney steaks, best restaurants was venice and waterfall.

Icmeler was very different to marmaris in 10 years of coming to Turkey the last year it has changed for the worse, to much pestering, no escape from it.

Icmeler is compact and a lot smaller than Marmaris, but so much nicer in my opinion.
There is entertainment on in most bars in the evening at 10pm. This can get a bit repetetive with the usual Tina Turners, Bar Dancing etc, but you will find variations around Icmeler.
Even though there are no waste bins, there is not a scrap of litter around Icmeler, its a beautifully kept town. The views are amazing from whichever angle you look from. Greenery and flowers are everywhere and add lots of colour.
The beach can be a little shingly in places, but kept spotless.
This is my second visit to Icmeler, and I will be returning again later in the year.

Although Turkey in is no longer cheap as chips we thought Icmeler itself was suitable for most age groups with a family kiss me quick upbeat atmosphere. Once you get used to the hassle you will enjoy it a lot more. Resort was very clean with plenty of very good food at a reasonable price but you must shop around.
The Beach at Icmeler was excellent with lots of Palapas and sunbeds most of which were free with watersports aplenty for those who like a buzz.
Would highly recommend the various trips on offer but again shop around.

fantastic resort everything is on the doorstep loads of shops selling good quality goods at really cheap prices. dont miss the stella show its a must if you want a good laugh lazy day boat trip and dalyan cruise are brill days out and youve just got to have a turkish bath. wont go anywhere else now weve made some fantastic friends who really remember you year after year service wherever you go is second to none and dont be scared ladies to try the hairdressers best in the world bars and restaaurants all clean good food and drink holiday restaurant one of the best.

Resort is as friendly as ever not so much hassle but prices have risen quite a lot we didnt buy very much this year at all clothes prices used to be cheap but now you may as well put a bit more to and buy originals at home, I wanted some cheap trainers for a day out and looked at some copy adidas ones (same as I have at home and original only cost me £45) they wanted £35 the motif was slanted and part was missing but he wouldnt come down to less than £30 so I went in my flip flops.

(Unfair to give a 3 on Beach Standard. Wish there was a box to tick if you can't comment - we dont use the beach.)
But as to Icmeler itself, we find it a clean, pretty resort - whichever way you look there are mountains, trees, flowers, greenery of some sort. Most of the people are very friendly - lets face it, its their business to make money throughout the season, so they'll do what they can to make you spend, but most of them do it with a friendly manner.

we stayed in icemeler for 2 weeks without a problem could go back there any day.
